So lovely!

Our family of 4 (3 adults & 1 teen) loved our stay. The house was everything we wanted & the perfect size (not too big & not too small). It had everything we needed to be comfortable & we enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen. We cooked all our meals. So close to the beach which was not crowded. Highly recommend!

Great family vacation

Loved the house and location! Views were stunning. House was well-maintained and clean! There was lots of amenities for my family, including high chair, booster seat, pack and play sand toys, umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards, laundry room! The only downside was having to pick up the key and Duck made us sit in traffic for a while longer being able to get in with access code would be nice. But everything else was fantastic!

Comfortable, Roomy and Right on the Beach

Our stay at Ruggles was very enjoyable. The house is exactly as pictured if not better, and both roomy and comfortable. The back deck was a great place to hang out, either to get sun in the morning to early afternoon or shade later in the day. Also, the house could hardly be closer to the beach, probably less than a 30 second walk over the dune, made easy by the wooden stairway (that also serves as a great platform to take sunrise pictures that are totally worth getting up early for). This was our first time on the Outer Banks and we were a bit taken back by the traffic jams, getting on the island and during dinner hour. Fortunately the kitchen is well stocked (although bring your own spices) and the grill is without a doubt the cleanest and easiest grill at any house we have ever rented, making dinners in the best idea.

OBX 2022

Great property! Loved the private beach access, outdoor deck space, and hot tub. Only complaint was in-person check in was required with no early check-in option. We arrived about 4 hours before our check-in window to avoid traffic. A keyless entry option would really improve this process! Definitely renting this property again next year!

Ruggles is THE place to stay for our family

We absolutely LOVED every minute of our stay at the Ruggles Beach House. It was absolutely perfect for our family of five. The only problem was when our time ran out. Can't wait to hopefully go back again next year!

Way better than expected

The property location, cleanliness, and size were perfect for our family. 3 of our 4 sons were able to join us (ages 25, 23 and 17) and we all had an amazing time. The house had everything we needed and we ate most of our meals at the house. There was a TV in the master bedroom and in one of the rooms downstairs, but we never turned them on. My wife and I watched the sunrise every morning, either from the deck off our bedroom or at the top of the new wooden walkway leading to the beach. Although the water was cold, most of us went in every day. The hot tub was refreshing, especially on those cool breezy evenings. We rented a Jeep from noon one day till noon the next (highlight of the trip) and were able to drive up the sandy beaches north of Corolla several times, and every time were able to see horses roaming the beaches. We enjoyed an amazing sunset from Historic Corolla Lighthouse park. The owners have kept guest logs going back to the early 1990s and it was so much fun to read about experiences that past guests had staying at this beautiful home. Thank you so much for sharing this house with us, we definitely plan on staying there again.

The perfect beach house

This is a wonderful beach house! Extemely clean and well maintained. Love that it is a smaller, cozy home - perfect for the three of us. Great deck space with sun and shade. Beautiful beach just over the dune. Loved walking down the beach to Corolla Village for lunch at Barbeque or coffee & breakfast. Bedrooms all nicely decorated and comfortable. Great master upstairs with view of awesome sunrises over the ocean. This house has it all!

Absolutely perfect!

We rented this house for a week in April and absolutely loved everything about it: the main room with cathedral ceilings and sky lights, the large sunny deck, the hot tub, the shaded hammock, the private easy access to the beach, the great location - an easy bike ride to both shopping and historic sites, the sunrises on the sea and sunsets over at Whalehead, all of it. In an area full of huge tacky Mc Mansions, this property is tasteful, beautiful, comfortable and perfect for a single family unit. Everything was clean, everything worked. We even used the fireplace on a cold night! Strongly strongly recommend. We can’t wait to get back there.

Perfect for us!

So very much enjoyed our time at Ruggles! Needed the quiet November peace of the area, with lovely places to walk and bike. The house is beautifully designed and decorated in serene beach shades. Even a cozy fireplace for the one night we used it this warm November. Excellent cooks’ kitchen with everything needed right at hand. We always take our own sharp knives to rentals, but never had to unpack them here. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Incredibly clean, attractive, well-maintained property

We had a fantastic time here, the property was spotless when we arrived, and everything looked like it had been well-kept (as in, sometimes the houses look/feel a bit dated when you walk in but this place emphatically DID NOT.) Our children were remote learning - and my husband and I were working - the first few days and the nook upstairs and the reading/TV room were perfect for setting up "shop." If there was one teeny tiny downside, the internet or WIFI kept dropping during meetings (although it was REALLY fast when it was up), so I imagine the firmware needs a bit of TLC. But that was nothing compared to the location and charm of the property. We will stay again for sure.
