What a wonderful way to spend Thanksgiving. Beach is right around the corner and house is amazing. Had everything we needed and more. It’s obvious the house details were well thought out!

Terrific property! We were an extended family of 14 with ages from 10 to 76. The house was comfortable for everyone with great outdoor activities, a short walk to a very nice beach, and less than a mile walks to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment for everyone. The host was very responsive and on top of everything with great advice. We have done this family vacation for many years and everyone thought this was the best property we have stayed at for our family. Kitchen was great, double dishwashers & washer/dryers were awesome, plenty of beach gear available so we didn't have to haul, light up bocce ball, pool, and hammock were highlights for kids and adults. Highly recommend!

Family vacation

A beautiful home with wonderful outdoor amenities and a large pool. Short walk to the beach. Interior of home is spacious and has 2 refrigerators, dishwashers, washers and dryers which was great with 15 people. Only snag was that the elevator wasn’t working.

Beautiful beach home and great location

These homeowners have thought of everything! There were 15 of us ranging from 9 to 70 and plenty of things to do for all ages including bikes, games, puzzles and beach and pool toys. We celebrated Father’s Day and Papa’s 70th birthday and both were very special. The beach is a close walk which made it so easy to spend time there whenever we wanted. The pool area and tiki bar were where we spent most of our time. It was so convenient with the grill, fridge, tv and outdoor speakers. The additional grill on the upper level was very convenient too. The owners were very responsive and helpful. A most enjoyable stay and everyone is eager to go back again.

Beach Vacation

Great property, tons of amenities and lots of spaces for kids to play. Tons of beach chairs, kites, boogie boards, surf boards, beach toys, bikes, beach wagons. The owner responds quickly. Short walk to the beach. Elevator wasn’t working but that is uncontrollable. Few issues with the front door keypad but we mainly used the bottom door. Pool area and outdoor kitchen area are wonderful. Description on VRBO was extremely accurate with the house. We would definitely stay again.

Great location and great communication

Excellent home. It has everything you need to stay entertained. The host went of his way to make sure it felt like a retreat. Great location. 1 minute walk to the beach. Communication was excellent. No issues whatsoever.

Great Amenities and Outdoor Area

We recently stayed at this great rental property for Thanksgiving and felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The house was not only spacious and comfortable but also incredibly well-equipped for our family’s needs. One of the highlights of our stay was the outdoor area. The firepit became our gathering spot for cozy evenings, where we shared stories and enjoyed each other’s company. The tiki bar added a fun and a tropical touch that elevated our family get-together and the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind. All three amenities were a hit with the whole family. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to prepare our Thanksgiving feast, from cookware to utensils, making meal prep a breeze. We appreciated the attention to detail, which allowed us to create cherished memories filled with delicious food and laughter.

Something for everyone

There were 18 of us, 3 children and 15 adults. Ages ranged from 7 to 82. We all had a great time and there was something for every one to do The beach is a typical outer banks beach, wide and sandy with nice waves, never crowded. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the beach, which is a very short walk from the house, has a lifeguard on duty. The house is spacious with lots of nooks and crannies for reading, games or other activities. The pool, hot tub and various outdoor games were put to good use. The consensus of family members, especially the young adults was best vacation ever.

Whalehead Beach Family Vacation

Our stay at this property was full of fun family time! The house accommodated 12 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs! Everything we needed was provided from kitchen accessories, amount of bathrooms, fun games to play along with the pool table, the pool and hot tub, volleyball court and the tiki bar! The beach was a short walking distance away and the owner provided everything you need for a great day to hang at the ocean. The owner was very informative and communicated very fast when needed. I highly recommend this property!!

Great stay

This home has many amenities! A couple of minor issues but homeowner was always available to get in touch with . It is in a great location as well, a very short walk to the beach. Folks who stayed prior to us apparently left it pretty disgusting so housekeeping could have been better. It wasn’t ready at check in and the cleaner must have had her hands full. We had grandkids of all ages staying and everyone had fun! Plenty of space for all and the kids loved the pool and hot tub!

This house has Everything. Eric is so great to work with. The pool, hot tub, firepit, cornhole and beach just 1 block away made our stay perfect. Crabbing was . We just Loved it. So great. The beach and waves were super. Had so many games and puzzles plus the beds were Fabulous plenty of chairs beach towels towels

Great House and Location

This property was in great shape and in a great location. House was well stocked and wouldn't have needed to bring near as much for our stay as we did. Everything worked great and Eric was great to work with on any issues that came up. Lots to do at the house on days you don't feel like hitting the beach. Would recommend this home for anyone to stay in.

Fun house close to the beach

We had an awesome stay at this house. It is located 1 block away from the beach access so the walk to the beach is not too long (we had small children with us and they were fine walking!). The house has so many fun activities and I think we used all of them. The fire pit was so nice in the evening. The house has tons of beach gear. Lots of boogie boards and sand toys. Lots of chairs too, some of them had broken straps though which made it a little harder to take a lot to the beach. The wagons also were not working well so we chose not to use them. It was so nice to come back from the beach, rinse off real quick and jump in the pool. The kitchen was well stocked, loved having two dishwashers and we also used the grills quite a bit. The washing machines worked great and there were 4 families so having two was a huge plus. The owner was great, responsive and check-in was easy. We had perfect weather all week so spent most of our time on the beach or in the pool or exploring the area, however if we had had a rainy day there was lots to do in the house and lots of separated areas to read/play games/etc. I would definitely recommend this house!

Highly recommend

Our family vacation of 17 people was so enjoyable in this home. There was plenty of room for everyone, we had a rain day, and there was plenty of games and puzzles to keep all ages busy. It was a short walk to the beach, which was wonderful. The owner was available for any questions that we had promptly and made everything run smoothly. I would highly recommend this home for any large group. ❤️

We had three family stay at this location and it was perfect, easy walk to the beach, weather was less than ideal but the house was so accommodating with so much for everyone to do! Kids enjoyed the pool and the hot tube along with the cross fit and the volley ball court

Great Property but camera viewing was a little much

This was a great property but owner was a little heavy on viewing cameras. I get making sure everything is on the up and up but questioning is a little much. This was our sons spring break and there were parents there throughout the stay but owner questioned it throughout the stay.

Birthday Weekend

We rented this property for the weekend (February 23-26) for my Mother-In-Law's birthday weekend. The property was clean and well stocked with everything you would need from entertainment to cooking. We have stayed at other rental homes (in the area), but this is the first house to have several different outdoor activities such as mini golf, volleyball/badminton, and boccie ball courts, and a small CrossFit, super cool area. Additionally, this property has many different board games and puzzles, more than the average rental home, great for kids and family nights. The tiki bar was super cool, even though we didn't use it due to the cooler weather but the hot tube and fire pit were awesome. The newly installed elevator was a nice addition for loading and unloading cars and groceries and bypassing the stairs. The walk to the beach is super easy (no busy roads). Even though it was cold and windy, we still made several trips to the beach. Some suggestions, it would be nice to have the backyard fenced in. This property is dog-friendly, and it would be nice to let them run around (outside of the pool area). Also, we wanted to make smores with the fire pit but the house didn't have skewers. Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed our stay. We have begun talks about renting again next year. The owner is super nice and welcoming, with open and fast communication during the whole stay at all hours. We were welcomed with open arms and treated like family, thank you!

Great Stay

We had an awesome stay. Communication was excellent, house was as listed. So many fun things to do at the house (bocce ball, hot tub, golf, arcade game table, board games, puzzles). Kitchen was fully stocked - we had everything we needed to cook all our apps on NYE. Would love to go back in the summer to fully enjoy the outdoor area (pool, outdoor bar/grill area). Would highly recommend and would stay here again!

Amazing Property

The property is just as advertised. The kids enjoyed the activities. Appliances and furnishings were great. Only item that could be improved is the linen were short. I totally recommend this property.
