There are actually 5 museums here and while Buffalo Bill's story is the star attraction, the Yellowstone Natural History museum was also really interesting. Awesome. Nice and quiet, Private back yard, we just sat out there and had a few leisurely drinks and caught up with each other. Great place, will definitely put this at the top of the list for the next trip to Cody!

This is a wonderful property. All the amenities you could want and cut flowers, a basket of fruit, and a bottle of wine! How perfect is that! The location is fantastic. We walked downtown to shop (2 blocks), to the historic Irma Hotel for dinner, to the gunfight on the main street, and to the Bill Cody Museum of the West. We are an extended family ranging from 22 to 91 years old and everyone of use was very comfortable. Even our 2 dogs loved the backyard. An extra bonus was the sweet deer roaming the neighborhood and relaxing in the front yard. Our host was very responsive and totally invisible at the same time. Thank you, Ann, Emily, and Sue, for your hospitality.

In town & quiet location

Three of us and one small dog enjoyed the cabin for an extended weekend. We relaxed on the porch and in the backyard for grilling and hanging out. The interior is beautifully decorated and cozy. We had lots of space as we used both up and downstairs bedrooms. The kitchen is a bit small but equipped with all sorts of gadgets, for the many meals we cooked. One person has an allergy to scented linens and the house was free of any scents. Beautiful old comfy cabin. Would stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Scouts Rest . Everything was clean and comfortable. Little touches like the complementary bottle of wine and a fruit basket made us feel welcome. We were allowed to use the laundry equipment which was a nice perk.The location is great with only a short drive to restaurants and museums. Our only suggestion would be that the kitchen could use a few more coffee mugs… but that’s pretty minor. Overall it’s a fantastic place 😀

Nothing was missed at this adorable place. The bed was super comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. The owner left us a gift upon arriving. Deer in the side yard as we enjoyed a cocktails feet from them. Definitely would stay again!

Yellowstone trip

There were 8 adults staying and the home was fine but a little smaller than expected with no real area for us all to hang out. Living room area was small, kitchen area very small, home was built in 1920s so u can hear all the creaks when your trying to sleep downstairs. Only 1 tv. Home would be better suited for smaller groups. But overall it was a fun trip.

The welcome was overwhelming!

The welcome gifts were so thoughtful after a very long drive. It was so nice to walk in to flowers, snacks, wine, fruit, bread and butter…! Also given the state of the world, the fact that our hosts would welcome complete strangers with such warmth made me a bit weepy. I LOVED the care and detail that went into the restoration of the cabin. (The fireplace mantle may have been my favorite feature) I found the house evocative in so many ways. The location was perfect. We found the canal park and enjoyed walking our dog there and exploring the great neighborhood. Many many thanks for such an enjoyable stay.

Location location location

We were greeted with a large loaf of freshly baked bread with butter on the side. Yummmm. We stayed 5 nights and there was so much to do in Cody that it flew by. The house was just as described and slept well. We were walking distance to everything.

Cody Perfect!!

What can I say about "Scouts Rest"? We loved the cabin. The rich history and feel was just perfect for our stay. If you are looking for a rustic feel while staying in Cody WY, this is the place for you. The Front Porch sitting in the morning drinking coffee (provided) with deer meandering through the front yard. The Fire Place (click a button) was a nice feature on the cooler evenings. The kitchen is well equipped and I'm certain anything we would have needed would be brought to us right away. Ann's amazing fresh baked bread was delicious. Walking down Main Street (one block away) was so easy and convenient. If you are looking for modern amenities (clean lines and tech) keep looking. If you want historic charm and comfort, look no further. We will be back.
