Loved our stay in Cobh. Pronounced Cove. Nice kitchen with everything you would need to cook for 6 people. This house is old, but very functional. Great location is Cobh! Street parking is available but can be challenging because the street is very steep. House is in the middle so walking up or down is a workout. Be aware that Cobh is a cruise ship town and Wed/Thurs is much busier. Loved this location.

House had a lot of dust and cobwebs. sheets were pilled and itchy. Some things were outdated in manual. Furnishings are very well used. Bath upgrades were wonderful! Gorgeous views from every window. Location is perfect but be aware street is very steep. Hosts very responsive and kind.

Great location but…

Unfortunately, the first impression we formed as we entered the property was that it smelled bad. The property had an unpleasant odor —-fuel oil? mildew? We promptly attempted to air the place out by opening the windows, but the windows in front of home did not open at all and others needed to be propped open. There were loads of spider webs and dead bugs around the windows as well as mold in the upstairs bedroom windows. Yuck. we ended up purchasing Febreeze and assorted other air fresheners, which really didn’t help much. The kitchen could use a microwave, which may have been helpful since only 2 of 5 burners on stove worked, and the oven door does not seal well. The “house manual” left at the property was helpful in deciphering how to use the hot water, stove, etc but it also said there was an IPOD/IPAD dock. We found a boom box instead. Didn’t bring our CD collection, so, not very useful, but not a big deal. TV did not seem to function, but also not a big deal to us. Furnishings were ok, not great. Did not find the outdoor space that was advertised unless that refers to the little area off the kitchen that housed the oil and gas tanks and was unusable for any other purpose. There was a lovely park across the street, however. Beds were comfortable enough, washer and dryer were great and there were plenty of linens and hot water. So, overall, the property was adequate for our purposes, but seems neglected and needs attention. Would not repeat.

This house needs updating. The couches are very old. There was no blow dryer and the clothes dryer did not work and had not worked for some time as it was stated in the paperwork in the house. There was tea and the sugar had bugs in it. While the location is great, this house needs some TLC.

wonderful place

Der Aufenthalt in Cobh ist einfach ein unvergessliches Erlebnis - hier stimmt so in etwa alles, was man sich von einem traumhaften Urlaub vorstellt. Der Ort Cobh mit seinem herrlich idylischen Hafen und der Kathedrale allein verdient 5 Sterne, Egal, ob beim Spazieren gehen, am Meer etwas entlang schlendern oder auch die Schiffsreisenden mit Live Musik zu verabschieden, Cobh ist eine lebendige Stadt, mit viel Musik und unfassbar freundlichen Menschen. Obwohl wir zu beginn viel gereist sind haben wir uns später nur noch auf Cork und Cobh konzentriert. Einkaufszentren sind in der Nähe, Aldi und Lidl ca. 1.5km entfernt: Der Gastgeber war sehr hilfsbereit und hat sehr schnell auf meine Fragen geantwortet, immer gab es Feedback und wenn ich etwas gebraucht hätte, hätte ich es auch bekommen. War aber mit allem zufrieden. Die Wohnung hat uns 8 Personen vollkommen gereicht, es gab genug Platz für alle, jeder hatte seinen Freiraum und seinen Schlafbereich, man konnte sich gemütlich in der Küche oder im Wohnzimmer unterhalten. Die Einrichtung ist zwar in einem 5 Sterne Hotel besser, aber wir wollten ja auch kein 5 Sterne Hotel, und für eine Ferienwohnung hatte sie ziemlich viel zu bieten, sogar eine Waschmaschine, was äußerst praktisch war. Mir würde jetzt auf Anhieb nichts einfallen was uns gefehlt hätte. Der steile Hang ist eine nettes Erlebnis und es wird ein Teil der Erinnerung bleiben. Hab kein Platz mehr zum Schreiben daher 6 von 5 Punkte für das Gesamterlebnis. Danke vielmals

Special highlight of our trip!

Staying in a Deck of Cards house… a dream come true! The home was better than imagined for our large family (2 adults, 6 kids). Location was perfect and we especially liked the gassy park across the street. The host was super helpful and responsive. We would definitely recommend and stay again!

Such a disappointment… the house description states it is a recently renovated charming property - in reality it is currently in need of a complete makeover . I later learnt the property was renovated in 2013 and it appears to me it has not been updated since that date . The overwhelming smell of fish greeted us as we entered the property and permeated the downstairs area. Despite opening windows and using air freshener the smell was still lingering after 4 days ! The house is supposed to cater for up to 10 guests- we were a group of 8 - but there were only 5 mugs, 6 side plates and 4 useable wine glasses. After requesting additional crockery these were provided after 2 attempts but this was not a good start to the holiday . Other issues were: Cracked tiles and wobbly taps in the bathroom , no blinds on the velux window in the attic or on the bathroom window, broken lock on the main bathroom door, water leak by the fridge. On a positive note, the location of the house is brilliant . Such a shame the description of the house is not met in reality .

Property not as Described

This property was advertised as recently renovated - we were unable to determine what has been renovated. As we stepped through the front door - there were lingering unpleasant odors. The kitchen stove hood was very greasy and not appealing while cooking. There were only 2 coffee filters for our entire stay and we were unable to find any in town. The sofas were very worn out and sagging - not comfortable for sitting on and visiting, much less drinking a glass of wine at the end of the day. The beds were most uncomfortable. The cleanliness was non-existant. There were cobwebs and dust bunnys everywhere, skeletal spiders in the windows and mildew throughout. When we took showers in the small bathroom, it leaked through the floor down into the kitchen and had to mop up the water. Advertised with dryer and there is no dryer - only air dry racks. For the price - it was not worth it for us.

Maison à Cobh

Belle maison très bien située dans un décor de carte postale ! Super emplacement pour visiter Cobh et Cork sans voiture, avec la gare à 5mn. Trains toutes les demi-heures pour Cork. Maison sur 3 niveaux, bien équipée pour 9 personnes, il manque cependant un peu de vaisselle ( verres et mugs notamment). La literie est bonne. Attention pour la seconde douche, nous ne l'avons pas utilisé car soit brulante soit froide, pas pratique. Donc en réalité, une salle de bain pour 9 personnes et 2 wc. Il manque un rideau au velux de la chambre du haut, dommage. Et un aspirateur serait bien pratique. Guide avec instructions bien détaillées et recommandations des propriétaires.

Lovely house in a beautiful location.

There was plenty of room for all eight members of our family in this lovely house in Cobh. It couldn’t have been more convenient to the town center. Our host, Patrick was friendly and helpful. We all really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely book again.

Love Ireland!

Enjoyed the house and location. Could have had more bags for trash (1 for 8 people for 5 days) and the landlord really has to let future guests know how steep the street is (the online photo is deceptive), it was very difficult for our 70+ family members.

Wonderful Charming 3 Flat

The property was a charming 3 flat that was arranged perfectly for our extended family trip. We loved the access to the town and local establishments all within walking distance. The steepness of the street was NOT exaggerated, it is super steep, but after the first day we planned it into our day.

Great views

Awesome get away with views out the window. Walking range to town that had every thing you needed. The owners helped with my lost checked bag at the airport that was delivered two days later and left it in our house while we your out touring the city. Thanks for all the help greatly appreciated.
