2/10 Terrible

We did not use the first night, as my granddaughter had to take a test in school the following day. The convention ended at about 9 p.m. on the second night of the scheduled stay, and my wife, daughter, and granddaughter went to stay in the VRBO. It was a little hard to find.1. The apartment was in a rough area. This would have been okay, as they only planned to sleep there, but the window was broken and could not be closed, so the apartment could not be secured.2. The apartment had been foreclosed upon, with the notice posted to evacuate the premises.3. It was a cold night, and they were unable to get the thermostat to turn on the heat. I think the furnace had been disabled, or the gas shut off. This combined with the fact that it was windy outside, and the window could not be closed meant that it was very cold inside, with a breeze.4. The blankets and pillows were piled on the floor in the closet. Pillows did not have cases. My wife and daughter slept in their clothes with their coats on. They had a blanket in the car that they were able to use for the granddaughter.5. Smoke detectors had been removed from the ceiling.6. The faucet for the shower/tub was broken and off the wall. You could not turn on the water. I do not know if there was hot water or not. as they stopped trying.7. The cabinets in the kitchen were open, hinges broken, and could not be closed. This was all documented with photos. Totally unacceptable at any price.
