Quiet and close to the beach

Very quiet and quaint neighborhood, short distance to the beach. Local dining was awesome at every place we went, food was great, service was awesome and the prices were definitely reasonable. Stress-free place to vacation.

Heaven awaits at Slack Tide

This was our first visit to Chincoteague (husband came as a kid back in the day) and we knew we needed dog friendly and to be close to Assateague. This house is PERFECT for anyone with pups and kids. It is a clean modern home with a great outdoor space and about a mile from Assateague. So close we biked to the beach most days. In the TV room, there is a large sectional which was perfect for relaxing in the evening with a movie. On nice weather nights, we loved the backyard and fire pit. The rental company was responsive, but they also anticipatedany of our needs so we didn't have to communicate too much. We had a week of family fun time and it was just easy. Love this place. Perfect fit for 2 adults, 2 hound dogs, and a 4 year old.

A perfect home away from home

We loved being able to take our very first vacation with our dog. He learned the doggie door in 1 minute flat! It's been a dream to see the wild horses and we were not disappointed. The house was perfect for us. It had everything we could need.

Our new favorite!

I have always admired this house and was so happy it was available for our stay. This house was a perfect set up for us. The outdoor firepit was definitely an added bonus. Beat having to lug all the stuff for a fire on the beach. The only thing that would help make it perfect is a screened in area. The flies made it miserable for sitting/eating outdoors! The mosquitoes were not bad at all, first year I can honestly say that. We all loved this house and even the kids said its now their favorite!

Beach vacation

Loved the spacious home, the location, and yes, the quiet as the day wound down. Only one item ( we feel) would have helped- pick up days for trash &/or recycling. Nothing in the information left at the house. But we did the best we could by following what the neighbors were doing. We’ll definitely be back!

No dogs, just kids!

Great, spacious home for a family with 3 little ones 5 and under. If you’re a 2 family group booking, the house is split really well if you need your own space! The kitchen was the BEST stocked kitchen I’ve ever experienced with a vacation home rental. We cook all dinners “in” given bedtimes, and there wasn’t an issue needing anything they didn’t already have. The bunk room was great for the older ones, but if you’re an adult this isn’t a full sized room! Smelled a little musty in that one but attributed to portion of house that was converted for the room. A little Damp Rid charcoal box did the trick! It’s hard to expect a house that allows dogs to not have some random dog hair, but the removable couch covers were appreciated so we didn’t need to sit in dog hair. Fire pit and yard were ideal to keep little ones entertained, minus the mosquitoes, but that’s just a product of the island. Also appreciate on-site washer and dryer with kids!!

Our 2 weeks in Slack Tide

We really enjoyed our 2 weeks prior to Christmas in Chincoteague. Loved the house, yard, and neighborhood. Met some Teagers at local dog park and walked the nature trail several times. Local grocery and bakery were nearby. Got takeout from the diner, Asian Express, and Famous Pizza. Used Dog E Stylez and H&H Pharmacy, plus Urgent Care in town across the bridge.

Lovely

This property was great for my family of 6! And the unique layout of the house was great for everyone to have their own area to play and relax. Even though we brought some things to occupie the kids . It was nice that there were some games, toys, and movies for the kids. And the fenced in yard and fire pit was a plus!

Quiet neighborhood with a dog friendly yard. Plenty of space to get away for quiet time in the house. Fun to watch movies in DVD! Would return for a spring trip for sure!

This property had it all. Books, games, movies, fire pit, yard, mud room everything. It would be easy to stay busy, or not, no matter the weather or time of year. Very responsive management.

Great Spot

The house was clean with an updated kitchen. We spent a lot of time by the fire pit in the evenings. It was very easy to get to the beach and we walked down to the museum to watch a rocket launch. We had a fabulous time!
