4/10
We booked this VRBO for a trip to Chicago with five mid-20 year-old men. We walked in and the home looked fine. It was adequately clean. There were, however, a few very bad things about this VRBO that make it unfit to stay in. 1. The actual beds are awful. Very thin mattresses and the box springs don't stay on the frames, they slide off and start to fall down. There were no sleeping pillows provided, only the decorative pillows that you would normally take off the bed.2. The futon is worse. I get that a futon is not great for sleeping, but this one was unusable. When laid flat down in "bed form" there was no support for the part that is laid down to create the bed, so it just tips over. It is also not big enough for any grown human being. There were no pillows or comforter provided for this.3. There were not enough towels provided for the 5 individuals staying for the weekend. 4. The "stunning backyard" was absolutely horrible. Completely overgrown and again, unusable (see photo). If you are deciding between this place and a couple hotel rooms, pick the hotel rooms. That way you will at least have real beds and enough towels. We had someone use a beach towel, had to have someone sleep on the (very small) couch, and someone had to sleep straight on the floor.
