The Chicago Theatre was built in 1921 and was originally named the Balaban and Katz Chicago Theatre. This building has become the unofficial landmark for Chicago representing the rich arts and music culture Chicago is known for. Great property not the best check-in, check out times.

The apartment is great, everything is as shown on the listing. This place can comfortably host 6 people. Only complaint is the pillows (too bulky and hard) and the check in and check out times. Standard is 3pm and 12pm.

Excelente experiencia, altamente recomendado.

Ubicación excelente, con facilidad del metro a cortísima distancia de la entrada al penthouse, muy cerca de la avenida Michigan y de muchas atracciones del centro de la ciudad para disfrutarlas caminando. También muy conveniente que a la par del edificio, hay un supermercado con todos los productos para abastecer la cocina durante la estancia. Penthouse muy limpio y ordenado. Rigurosas la políticas, pero esto asegura el buen disfrute del condominio. No es para hacer fiestas sino para pasar unos días en calma y confort, hasta con una capacidad plena de una familia de hasta siete personas. Vistas geniales desde el balcón de gran parte de la ciudad y el lago. Hasta los fuegos artificiales de verano en el Navy Pier se pueden apreciar desde el balcón. En resumen: Altamente recomendado. La ciudad de Chicago muy segura y limpia y en general su gente muy educada y amable. Muchas opciones de restaurantes y atracciones de todo tipo. Tan es así que no tuvimos que alquilar vehículo para movilizarnos en una estancia de una semana. Hay muchas cosas por hacer.

Host had very clear instructions, home was extremely clean and tidy, plenty of room for guests. Beautiful views, our family was outside every day just admiring the city. Location was perfect, everything was walkable and whatever wasn't, we easily picked up an L which was literally right on the corner. Thank you!

Wonderful location , walkable to many restaurants and attractions. The view from this unit is amazing. There is a very large deck, although there were no patio furniture . We still enjoyed standing out there and enjoying the view. That is the best part of this unit. It is a large unit but a bit outdated. It is nice there is a separate upstairs area (bedroom and bathroom). There are so many rules and regulations for check in and check out and we received so many emails and texts about this process . Highly recommended for location and view.

This property exceeded our expectations! The penthouse was clean, organized, and was located in a great area. The views from the place were spectacular both during the day and night. The hosts were very helpful and responded promptly. The amenities were amazing and well kept. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Property

We booked this location for our annual girls trip. We had a wonderful stay. The property owners had every detailed covered and the communication leading up to, and during our stay was excellent. We loved having a grocery store connected to this property, and the doormen watching over the lobby were very cheerful and helpful. Our location was right in the middle of the city, so we could walk to most everything we wanted. Thank you for a lovely stay. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Great location and things I wish I knew before booking

First of all, the location is perfect for easily getting around the majority of attractions we wanted to see. The unit is very clean. There is even a Jewel-Osco in the building, so grabbing supplies is quick and easy.The building (and apparently all high rises in Chicago) are regulated so either the heat is on or the cooling is on, the unit itself can't be switched. The unit was quite warm so we had to sleep with windows and doors open in order to reach a comfortable temp, but that added to the light and noise during sleeping hours.I marked the communication with the manager a 4. I'll preface this with saying I rent 6ish times a year, so perhaps I'm more experienced than others, that said...There are placards throughout the unit reminding you to take your shoes off (FYI - a stool in the entry way would help facilitate this), no smoking, etc. I also received several extremely detailed emails/texts regarding how the unit is to be used and treated. I realize each of these likely comes from a prior poor rental experience, so to all renters, don't be that group.

important details about the property

there was one misleading thing about the description. My family went there to spend time together vs traditional buying a bunch of gifts. the first night we were there, we were playing charades and having a great time, music, ect. I was contacted by the owner to tell me i had to trun the radio off. It was his radio playing christmas music on the friday night of chritsmas weekend at 930pm. which is well before stated quiet time. We did. We ended up leaving the property and were out sgith seeing and recieved another un prompted text stating we have a zero tolerance policy and you will be asked to leave if it comes up again.... we weren't even there at the time of the second message. It is a great place, wonderful in fact, my opinion is that there is a neighbor near this location that is just generally an un happy person.If you and/or your company are boisterous and plan to let loose in at the property this might not be a good fit. Otherwise it is really an amazing place with a breathtaking view.

Home Sweet Home Chicago!!

We have stayed at this property numerous times & each time in a different unit. We love it here--the location is perfect for walking everywhere, the Jewel grocery store is right next door & the Red Line "L " is also just outside the door which we use to go to Wrigley Field. Weber Grill is a great restaurant across the street. Will stay here again.

Fabulous Mag Mile proeprty!

My family and I stayed here for 4 nights. The unit was perfect for our family. It was comfortable and gave us enough space and also exciting for the kids to be in a penthouse. The building amenities were also A+; this was the first vacation where I have worked out every morning before getting the day started (being from a different time zone helped!). The CTA red line is right outside the door and it's a short walk to the river. 10/10!

Holiday weekend

We stayed at this penthouse over the 4th of July weekend and had a wonderful time amid spectacular views and exceedingly convenient location in the city. We were comfortable and safe, we had a beautiful balcony from which we could view the skyline and the holiday fireworks. We would certainly stay in this location again.

Spectacular location and view

Our family vacationed for a week and we were exceedingly happy with the location (subway is mere steps away plus close to the River, shopping and restaurants), building amenities (outdoor pool, free Starbucks, 1/2 court basketball, and dog park),and apartment amenities (beautiful views, comfortable beds, pool towels, laundry, separate upstairs suite). Everything was great and the apartment was spotlessly clean! However, If you are a late sleeper bring eye masks. The east facing apartment is bright in the mornings!
