We arrived around 11:00 p.m. Check in was easy as the code we were given opened the door right away. As stated by previous reviewers, the place is definitely in need of small repairs and general maintenance. Light switch in master bathroom was busted out. Blinds were broken. There was a layer of dust on all the high shelves, decor, etc. We were only passing through for one night to take a break from our long drive. We weren't planning on sitting on the sofa, which was a good thing because you could tell that it was all sunken in with broken springs. The one full size mattress was also sunken in like a soup bowl because it is memory foam and must be old. This place definitely has potential if it was kept up better.The neighborhood didn't seem the greatest, so when we realized that the back door didn't lock and the safety bar was out of place when we arrived, we decided at midnight that we weren't going to stay and we repacked up our car and left.I messaged the host about a partial refund. It has been 14 hours and I have yet to hear back. Do not stay here.

Well overall the house was good, there were a few things wrong that need addressed… - Back door doesn’t lock (provided a bar to put in slider so it couldn’t be opened from outside)- Blinds on back slider are broke/ don’t close- Shower bench tile in master is falling apart/ mold present- Dishwasher isn’t draining/ doesn’t work, Mold and old standing water in it.- Stains on sheets & comforter in bedroom to left upstairs: looked like blood and bodily fluids also dirty sock & lead fishing weight under same bed.- Stains on wall in stairwell- Ice maker doesn’t work on fridge- Broken blind in front living room window- Fan in middle bedroom cord is missing to turn off fan- Closet door in middle bedroom broke- Bathroom door next to kitchen doesn’t latch or lockBut my largest complaint was that I tried to contact the property manager multiple times during our stay and they NEVER responded…even a week post stay they still have yet to respond. The first time I contacted them was simply to ask what time check out was, which wasn’t listed in any instructions. The house was nice despite the issues listed above, the area was good and convenient to shops and food. But the lack of communication was really a huge disappointment. I would not recommend this listing simply for the fact you can’t get ahold of the property manager.

It was several little things that added up for me. I found that a knob on the top drawer in the master bedroom is broken, a blind fell that looked to have been placed to not be noticed, the ceiling fan in the master bedroom didnt work and there were no batteries in the remote in the master bedroom so we couldn't watch tv there. It seemed a few things were broken by the last tenants, which i dont blame the owner for particularly, but it was when I was cooking dinner for my fiancé for Valentine's day and I saw a roach run accross the wall, I couldnt let all the little things go any longer. I just feel if there was more maintaince between stays this sort of thing wouldnt be an issue.

Festival Weekend

The home is lovely inside and is just feet from a grocery store and gas station. The host was responsive when messaged. Be sure to look at the check-in instructions versus Google Maps for the specific house number. Google Maps will get you to the street, but not thw specific townhouse.

Fair Priced

The property was nice and clean, the WIFI worked well and the couches were super comfy (that is where the teens slept) I did however think it was weird to pay a cleaning fee and then be instructed to take all trash to the dump and having a dryer full of towels and linens we had to fold and put away ourselves. We also couldn't really use the back deck much because there was a HUGE infestation of carpenter bees. But overall for the price and amount of people we took on our trip it was a good deal.

Very nice place to stay

We greatly enjoyed staying at Royal retreat townhouse the condo is fully updated. It is clean with nice bedrooms and bathrooms. The townhouse is conveniently located near grocery store and city park. Highly recommend this unit.

Could not stay at the property.

Arrived at 3:30, dirty sheets on beds, dirty towels in the bathroom floors. Could not reach the host. Could not stay in unclean environment. Had to find a hotel and Vrbo did not cover the entire cost. I am not happy.

SCARY

We arrived late to the property coming from Chicago and the front door was wide open. My husband went in to find unmade beds and dirty linens every where also a dirty used fork on the kitchen counter and a possible squater in one of the bedrooms... as we were just passing through on our drive to Myrtle Beach we just continued on our journey with no rest and traumatized children.

Worst VRBO experience ever.

A few days before our stay the host messaged saying the primary bedroom shower did not work. Once getting there the refrigerator barely cooled our groceries. I messaged the host and asked him to call me. More than 24 hrs later he messaged through the app saying he couldn't get anyone out there over the weekend and he never called. All three beds were very uncomfortable and once closet smelled like something had died in it. The dishwasher was also clogged and smelled gorrible. Communication with the host was horrible. Somemessaged took more than 48 hours to returb. Worst VRBO experince ever.

Great location, but water damage in Foyer.

The location is a love location however, I was inform that the place was being repair do to water issue. Then I was told that one of the bathroom(master) would be unavailable. When I ask if there be discount do to the lack of use of bathroom(master) Jeff, stated" The leak in the shower was fixed, there is a couple pieces of the tile that still need to be fixed, but has no leak anymore so you are able to use it." But when we used the shower, we notice there was still a major leak and water damage in the foyer where the bathroom sit over. We send a message, we never got a message back and we did inform Jeff in our message we had pictures of the issue. But the over all stay wasn't horrible but that did give me concern with future stay. As I travel to the area for sick family member.

Not what they said it was

The house was not equipped wit the necessary needs. No toilet paper, no trash bags. Refrigerator was broken! My food spoiled due to the fridge temperatures. The freezer only got cold!! Ice machine didn’t work! Furniture was broken down! Certain spots on the couch had no support at all! The porch was infested wit termites!! And the ceiling had a crack in it that leaked every time some one took a shower!! The whole experience was terrible due to bad management of the property! I fell I was over charged for this property! I choose the property based on its amenities a location!!

Wonderful, comfortable property.

We stayed here for soccer tournament in Charleston. Townhouse was huge and beautiful. Host was wonderful about extending stay. Huge garage was a blessing keeping car cool in the heat. Beds comfortable.

Be aware they don’t communicate well

Facts: had a medical emergency and tried to communicate with host and get clarification on several issues prior to our visit. We didn’t actually stay in this space. Too many factors made it difficult to make this work. Get the trip insurance and cancel if you need to cancel. This was such a huge hassle. My properties in Fayetteville and Fayette County are far superior and great with communication. We didn’t stay in Fayetteville because we had family members in the Charleston area. My summary is to look elsewhere if you need accommodations. The message platform for Vrbo is to help guest and host have things in writing. This host is slow to reply and does not follow up on messages in a timely manner. Space looks nice but we can’t comment accurately on appearances.

Life to stay but was over exaggerated.

The overall property is a nice property, however there were several things that I found that made the stay difficult. 1. The check-in process was difficult because I was giving the wrong access code to the front door. And thereafter-hour services as I came in very late from off the road was not helpful immediately because they were not available at that time I was there. It took me several hours to get in touch with their after hours support. And several tries to finally get the code and I was in a position where it was uncomfortable for me as I had medical issues with my back. Later that morning I called, because someone was told that they were booked in the same townhouse which was easily resolved. But I was also informed by the property manager that she gave me the wrong access code and apologize for it. 2. Once I was in the property the overall aesthetics is very pleasing except you can tell they have a few things that need to be handled by their maintenance crew or handyman team. The blinds in the living room were crack. In the kitchen sink will not have running water, it started and stopped. The furniture also has some discrepancies and the couch clearly had a another pillow put up under it to hide that there was a severe dip in it, as well as the love seat could be seen having some tears and was separating where the upholstery meant the frame. The upstairs rooms were very spacious and lovely the bathrooms seem to be very well clean except tiles missing in master shower

Did Not get what I paid for

First- code wouldn’t work to open the door and property manager did not answer when I called and text her. After 30 minutes, a man from business across from property came over and said people had just checked out and he didn’t think it was cleaned. He had a code and went in and confirmed that it had not been cleaned so he called property manager and she showed up 30 minutes later…never did reply back to my call or text(multiple) She said she had been out of town and could not get the unit cleaned for us but could put us in unit next door. We booked the Corporate Unit(more money and MUCH nicer) This unit had dirty dishes in the dishwasher…no soap for dishwasher. There was dirty dishes in the cabinets(dried up egg looked like) dirty silverware in with the “clean” The tub had something in it…poop or puke(not sure). Very limited supplies that traveling people would need. We drove 8 hours and sat in the driveway for over an hour. Very disappointed

Overall, nice place when considering the area. Could use a better cleaning, but quick response from manager. (Kitchen sink has handle and motion sensor if the sign letting you know happens to be in a drawer like it was for us)

Avoid the nastiness and VRBO S.O.L helpdesk

Lies and scam. Irresponsible to continue listing this property! Believe the NOT clean reviews and avoid! The nohelpdesk will take your money/try to say your cancelling b/c the conditions are unacceptable and toxic, offer no assistance and do everything but the right thing. Renter beware!

Graduation Celebration

Overall. the place is nice. However, the owner needs to do add some love, and inventory several items and accommodations. Every rental facility “should”always have the bare essentials…there was no iron, only a college dorm size ironing board. The sheets in one bedroom were terribly stained. The living room furniture need to be replaced, it’s very uncomfortable. The garage is large and convenient. I would recommend this place AFTER the owner does some fine tuning.

The property itself was clean and comfortable to stay in. The kitchen is not stocked with pots/plans if you plan to cook. That didn’t matter for us because we weren’t cooking. We liked that it had a large garage and the nice dining room table. The big downside to our stay- A maintenance man was scheduled to come one of the days we were there with out us being aware, the property manager had not checked to see if it was booked. (We booked a week in advance) He walked in the house unannounced when I was in there alone with 3 kids, this was very startling and upsetting. when I said hello he shut the door and left with out saying anything which made me feel even more uneasy. I called to confirm to see if they did send someone there and the property manager said “no one is supposed to be staying there” and that she had maintenance scheduled then proceeded to ask if I booked through VRBO because she couldn’t see the bookings on her phone and only on her computer. Her attitude about this situation was terrible and unapologetic. She said multiple times she was in the doctors office with her child so maybe it wasn't a good time for her to have the conversation but she could have chosen to call me back at a time that was better for her and after she had a chance to check the booking. She made me feel unwelcomed and that it was an inconvenience that we rented the property. The property itself was nice to stay in but I would not stay there again because of her.

Not cleaned and restored

Sheets not changed on beds, dirty towels, no laundry detergent, no toilet paper, broken dishwasher, broken lamp, no hair dryer, no ice maker. We love the property, just needs attention.

St Albany’s townhome

It is a very nice townhome, very spacious rooms. It was not set up for 6 guests though. Kitchen service was inadequate. Missing silverware, plates, linens and hot pads. Needs some work on interior doors to closets. They are broken and fell on us. Also the deck door does not latch to lock closed. The Wi-Fi codes were not the last ones sent but the first, luckily I had both. All in all, we were pleased with our stay there
