Everything about our stay was perfection. The quaint alley that Deziree house was located was unbelievably convenient to the harbor, to restaurants, and shopping. Parking was convenient and getting to and from outside Chania activites was easy (once I figured out how to manuever out of the spot!). Maria was unavailable to meet us, but her dear friend, Manousos was delightful and welcoming and very patient with these American tourists. He showed us all that was needed for us to be comfortable during our stay. I must mention the delicious welcome meal that Maria's mother left us and the welcome basket Maria left, including Raki, Mountain Tea, and Cretan thyme honey. The warmth of the food and the welcome was just what we needed! We drank the mountain tea and let the Raki warm our thoughts. I will remember it for a very long time. I felt like I came home!

3-Level property

Everything was great except for 2 issues:1. We are in our 70s and were totally unprepared for the property to be on 3 separate levels. We were unable to get our luggage upstairs. The man who checked us in could not deal with the stairs either.2. The washing machine was too complicated and it was difficult to get the clothes dry.

Winterurlaub in der Altstadt von Chania

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt im Haus von Maria, es war sehr schön dort. Das Haus ist nicht nur sehr schön, sondern auch sehr geschmackvoll und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es befindet sich in einer exzellenten Lage in der Altstadt. Es gibt keinen Durchgangsverkehr und es ist sehr ruhig, nur ein paar Schritte zum Hafen. Dank der sehr guten Empfehlungen und Vorschläge von Maria haben wir auch sehr gute Restaurants, Bars und Cafés in der Nähe zu Fuß gefunden.Zum Haus gehört ein privater Parkplatz, so konnten wir tagsüber bequem Ausflüge in die Umgebung machen.Wir hatten Dank unserer Gastgeberin, die sich sehr gut um uns gekümmer hat, einen sehr schönen Urlaub und können das reizende Haus in der Altstadt von Chania nur empfehlen.

Excellent vacation stay

Everything about DEZIREE was wonderful. The house was clean, beds were very comfortable and the location perfect for walking around the harbor and the old town. Maria, our host, provided a great booklet of places to visit in the area and restaurants. She even arranged for taxi pickup for us from the airport. If you have a rental car there is secured parking very close to the house.

Beautiful home in a great neighborhood

We loved our stay and our host, Maria, was great! Our ferry into Crete was delayed so we arrived after 10:00 PM and there was a warm meal waiting on our arrival!! Communication was easy and the neighborhood was right near the venetian harbor - a fun and beautiful area to explore. Would 100% recommend!

A super relaxing trip full of amazing memories

Fantastic location for a stress free holiday for those who prefer not to drive whilst on holiday. A lovely quiet, safe neighbourhood within a few minutes walk of historical buildings, a huge variety of charming shops (including city shopping). The food was amazing, so much variety and very high quality with very memorable views and settings by the beautiful Venetian harbour. A couple of beaches close by and plenty of opportunity to have walks by the sea. So many cafes and restaurants to have a drink/lunch and laze away the afternoon. We enjoyed a charming carriage ride around Chania, as a huge animal lover it was lovely to see how well the horses are cared for by their proud owners and we wanted to support this. Our house felt like home for our 1 week stay, immaculately clean, brilliant use of space and beautiful interior decor. Maria and her husband were so helpful and a very tasty home cooked meal was much appreciated after a long day travelling. Brilliant !!

Mom’s Vacation

The house was amazing and beautiful. The location made it very easy to get to town, to food, and to the ocean. The owner was incredibly kind and thoughtful, she had homemade meals ready for my friend and I when we arrived because our plane got in late. Will hopefully be going back again!

You won’t be disappointed

Deziree is centrally located in Old Town, perfectly positioned to stroll to the many restaurants. Maria goes above in her communication and to help where she can. We can not speak highly enough of Maria, although we didn’t get the chance to meet in person. The accommodation is exactly as shown and is beautifully decorated. It was a little cosy with 4 adults in the living area, but did not cause us an issue. All the extra touches make you feel special. Make sure you go the recommendations in Maria’s guide book that she has has supplied. As mentioned by other guests, it has three levels, and is an effort to carry up suitcases, but don’t let that deter you! Definitely would recommend and hope to return one day.

Exceptional home in a perfect location

Maria was the perfect host. The house is beautiful and immaculately clean. Communication with Maria was great - answering all our questions, arranging pickup from the airport, a warm welcome with a home cooked meal and excellent recommendations for places to eat and things to see. The house is just a few steps from the waterfront and is truly beautiful with everything you could possibly need provided with generosity and style. Thank you for everything - we cannot wait to go back!

Lovely Place Brilliant Location

The house is lovely. Maria left all kinds of treats for us including wine, fruit and a delicious meal. The location is excellent in the central part of the old city but off the beaten path. We could not ask for a better place to stay.

Charming Chania home

We were greeted personally when we arrived and Maria had some special food and treats from Chania. After a long day of travel- we came home to a delicious home cooked meal! Maria’s home is even more charming in person! It is decorated beautifully and every detail thought out. The location was perfect in old town. Easy to get to shops and the harbor. I can only hope that can return another day.

Beautiful property in the BEST location!

We had a wonderful stay in Chania and couldn’t be more thrilled with our accommodations. The craftsmanship of the property was top notch and and decor throughout was detailed and charming. The hosts were amazing and even made a special trip over to help with the wifi. Private parking spot was also a nice touch. It is a short walk to the harbor and old town, just the most perfect location! Stay here if in Chania!

Fantastic in every way!

I traveled to Chania with my partner, my adult daughter and her friend. From the minute I booked the property, Maria was in contact with me, giving a detailed list of her recommendations for the area. We followed her suggestions and were not disappointed from restaurants to hikes to beaches. Upon arrival we were greeted by Maria’s friend who showed us around the apartment. Maria’s mother had left a wonderful home cooked meal for us. What a treat! I can’t tell you how many times we said how beautifully decorated the property was. So many unique and interesting details. I have to say it was the most beautifully designed property I have stayed at. Thank you Maria for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back someday!

Fantastique sejour au cœur de la canee

Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux, la maison est fidèle à sa description et Maria est une haute débordante d’attention. Corbeille de fruits, eau minérale, huile d’olive, miel, vin, et autres douceurs vous attendent à votre arrivée. Elle avait même préparé un plat pour notre famille succulent. La maison est située tout proche de l’ancien port vénitien et à quelques minutes à pied des commerces et restaurants. La cannée est pour nous définitivement une ville coup de cœur…

Perfect trip to Crete

We loved Chania and this was the perfect home for us. Great location, safe and convenient. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, harbor. Beautiful home exquisitely decorated. The hosts were extremely attentive and helpful from the moment we arrived greeting us on the street so we made the correct turn, showing us the private parking spot (which is a huge benefit), opening the door and providing a home cooked meal, fruit, and wine. We are a family of 4 and it was plenty of space (assuming your kids can share a room). Highly recommend.
