YES! Host was totally flexible with our arrival time! Walking is super convenient for access to old town Xhania. Parking is a bit tricky, but not impossible...we just dropped bags off in front & then found parking.

Grandma's Chic home was a perfect spot for our stay in Chaina. Very close to beaches, the port, public transport, restaurants, and cafes. The home has plenty of space inside and outside and provided 3 rooms with their own baths. Our host had great communication up to our stay and while we were there. They even coordinated our transfer to the home from the Herkalion airport (2hr drive). We would recommend this home to anyone visiting the port area of Chania.

My family and I had a lovely time staying here! The three bedrooms were perfect, each with a bathroom. We were close to the beach and old town, yet still felt nicely isolated and away from the busyness of the city. The host was very responsive, easy to communicate with, and very helpful and accommodating. We would stay here again!

Great location, charming accommodations

Close to beachfront restaurants, close to the old town, close to shopping for forgotten essentials. Cruise around for parking, have a glass of wine on the porch. Quiet, charming, I could LIVE here!

Walking distance to the best shopping and beaches in Chania

We were delayed an entire day, but the host was responsive and easily adaptable. The place was clean, spacious and easily located. Parking was on street, but easily found even when busy. It’s within a five minute walk to the Venetian harbor, but far enough away that it feels quiet and more intimate. There is a coffee shop around and convenient store right around the corner and a restaurant with a great view at the other end of the street. I stayed with my wife and two kids, who are teenagers. It was perfect for letting them explore on their own, unwind, or meet is while being close enough for us head back and grab and text them where to meet us. It was perfect. A great mix of quiet, but close enough to be in the action. We could easily walk to get bougatsa or to see an impromptu rap show on the old fortress. Highly recommend.

Excellent for a family

Place was clean, beautifully greek and practical. Only minor things to fix like a loose knob of the fauset in the middleroom sink and somewhat poorly funktioning aircondition in the romm farthest from the entrance. Fully equipped kitchen, including a laundry machine gave us an oportunity to feel and behave like home and at the same time enjoy all the fine restaurants in the nearest neighbourhood.

A great place to stay

It really was like being in a Greek home. The few things we needed were attended to quickly. We ran out of coffee which is graciously provided, and voila they went and got us more! They provided needed extras like olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper and sugar making cooking easy. It is a perfect neighborhood for exploring Chania and the rest of Crete as well. There is so much to do from swimming nearby to exploring the city walls and lighthouse, and museums, all easy walking distance! We also very much enjoyed the neighborhood kitties!

A Great House and Location

This house is has everything you could want for a wonderful holiday in a beautiful area. The house is comfortable, spacious and has all the amenities you could need, and is within very close walking distance of the old city. The owners could not have been more helpful: arrival and check in was quick and simple, and we were left to enjoy the holiday, knowing that they were always available should the need arise. I could not recommend Grandma's Chic Home, the owners, the location and the town of Chania highly enough. Thank you for a great stay.

Perfect Location but needs an upgrade

Superbly located in that it is not far from the old town and is very close to the beach as well as being in a quiet residential area. Has potential but needs a simple makeover. Bedroom are the only air conditioned area....cool air is also needed in the living areas when it is very hot. The living room is small with the oversized sofa taking up a large portion of the area. Get rid of the rusty shower caddy in one bathroom and replace the drainer on the sink. Reorganise the kitchen cupboards so that there is some order. Throw out the chipped plate....noone wants to eat off it. 2 wine glasses aren't enough for 4. Train the existing grape vine on the terrace to give shade for outdoor dining during summer. The old bulky brown furniture adds nothing to the appeal especially the wardrobe which probably never get used but just takes up space. Better mattress would also help as they were very hard and poor quality. Upgrade it, charge and more we would be back. And change the meet and greet person who was objectionable. I'm sure Grandma would not be impressed with the reception that we received.

Loved Grandma's House

Grandma's House was the perfect location for our visit to Crete. Such a central location with Old Town, Venetian Harbor, and the beach all within 10 minutes walking distance. Yet, a very quiet and quant street. There's even a taverna at the end of the block headed towards the water. Each of the bedrooms had air conditioning which made it the home a nice retreat from the heat. Parking on the street wasn't too bad on most days, either. Grandma lives upstairs so was happy to accommodate us with a new key, when we misplaced one of two left in our possession. Everything was clean and comfortable. I would love to stay here again someday!

Gibt nicht wirklich etwas zu bemängeln. Etwas in die Jahre gekommen und beim duschen flutet man das Badezimmer. Lage ist perfekt und trotz meiner Befürchtung, dass es Probleme beim Parken gibt, hatten wir immer einen in Max. 100m Entfernung

Great location, funky house

We chose this house for the location and it could have not been in a more perfect location, short walk to the old city, it's narrow streets filled with cafes and shops. The walk around the old walls to the cafes on the harbor is lovely. Although the house has three bedrooms, all are not fully equipped with dressers. Ours had a wardrobe closet but no shelves so we had no place to store our clothes. The bathrooms are quite small as one would expect with an older home. The shower and toilet share the same floor space so it would have been useful to have extra towels or mats as the floor gets quite wet and slippery. The living area is quite small with a sofa and two small low chairs, not super comfortable for the elderly but hard to fit more in the space. The kitchen has some useful equipment but the small table accommodates four (barely). Unfortunately, we had bad weather so could not use the outside dining space, which would have been nice. It rained most of the three days we were there and we lost power for the good part of one day. It was a neighborhood problem. Since the hot water runs on solar, we were initially advised to use the power to heat the tank but later, when the electricity went out again, we were told not to use the power to heat the water. With our friends, we imagined what the house would have been like if the weather would have been perfect. We would not have experienced several of these problems. The host was responsive to our initial problem using the front door key (it takes a knack but we mastered it by the time we left) and informing us about the power outage. It would have been helpful if there had been more supplies in the kitchen but the restaurants are nearby and that solved the problem. If you are looking for location, this small, charming home would be a good fit.

Fabulous location.

Wonderful location. 10 minute walk to harbour, restaurants and shopping. Local supermarket close by for breakfast foods - lunch and dinner eat in restaurants as food is very good and reasonably priced. Nice outside table/chairs. 3 bedrooms each with a toilet and shower so excellent for friends sharing. Needs some TLC (radiator could use coat of paint and shower caddy in one bedroom very rusty and should be replaced). Be advised there is an extra charge for over 3 people.

Great traditional Greek house in perfect location

The property feels like a traditional Greek home. The location is perfect for the old town and Nea Chora beach area. We were 2 couples but it is great with 3 double rooms with en suite facilities. Nice outside seating area front and back to sit and have breakfast or a drink at night. We would happily return on another trip.
