    Halfway between the Monterey Peninsula and Santa Cruz, the Dunes Colony is a precious secret awaiting discovery by those lucky enough to experience raw, unfiltered beauty on the sandy shores surrounding Monterey Bay.

    “Sea Bird” is a newly renovated, single-level condominium where our guests can live luxuriously while listening as the Pacific Ocean sighs eternally just outside, its grandeur framed by wall-length windows in the main living area.

    The Space:
    Other properties can give you exceptional ocean views, but “Sea Bird” pairs those views with unrivaled immediacy and proximity. Here, you are truly living ON the beach, in a stunning complex that almost looks like it formed on its own from the natural elements surrounding it.

    Rarely do we find such an ideal marriage of the manmade and the elemental, and we found it here.

    An ideal destination for couples seeking a romantic getaway or solo travelers seeking peace and tranquility by azure waters, “Sea Bird” is one you’ll remember fondly for a lifetime.

    Families, too, can take advantage of the amenities and access to world-class destinations. Recharge with your teens, or have a blast with your smaller children. The second bedroom has a King Bed and can easily convert to a kids’ room with two twin beds. The second bath also includes a jacuzzi tub.

    The unit is hidden behind a tall privacy fence. Push open the wind-washed gate and find yourself in a beguiling front courtyard with a Japanese footbridge and a four person Hot Tub. Recline in luxurious furnishings as you lose yourself in that book you’ve been meaning to read. Here is a space that invites you to relax, reflect, and truly unplug.

    After a night of stargazing on the beach, come inside and warm yourself by the living room fireplace as your loved ones gather to play games or watch a movie. The open concept layout means everyone can move freely from the deluxe chef’s kitchen back to their cozy spots on the brand-new sectional sofa. Vaulted ceilings enlarge the entire space, maximizing your impression of the panoramic views that are yours to enjoy all day long.

    Wake up in one of two pristine bedrooms, each with elevated ceilings and a crisp white color palette. From the Master suite, complete with en suite bathroom, step out onto your own raised deck and feel yourself at ease as you take in the salty sea air. Wooden paths wind their way through the dunes to the waves breaking on the shore. Aside from the occasional seagull or breath of wind through the cypress trees, these waves are just about all you will hear during your stay at “Sea Bird.”

    On days when you want to go exploring, you’ll find that you are only a short drive from all the delights of the Monterey Peninsula: the boutiques, fine restaurants, and art galleries of Carmel; the golf courses of Pebble Beach; historic Cannery Row in Monterey; wineries and riding trails in Carmel Valley; and so much more. Spend another day shopping in Capitola or strolling the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. In Moss Landing, kayak through Elkhorn Slough and count the varieties of birds you see.

    Back home, you’ll have access to a swimming pool, two tennis courts, a basketball court, a bocce ball court, a volleyball court, and a pickleball court. There’s truly too much to do in just one visit. So, when you book your first stay, prepare to keep coming back to “Sea Bird” again and again.

    The Neighborhood:
    The Monterey Peninsula is different than any other part of California. Here, time slows, the architecture is humble (with the exception of the homes in Pebble Beach), and the lifestyle is the perfect synthesis of SoCal laid back and NorCal sophisticated. On the northern side of the peninsula, the town of Monterey draws most of the tourists, while farther south, Carmel-by-the-Sea lures the easygoing wealthy set. Tremendous price tags on real estate helps maintain the small-community atmosphere along Monterey's jaw-dropping coastline. This area makes for a tremendous road-trip stop or romantic weekend stay. And did we mention the golf courses? This stretch of the California coastline boasts some of the most coveted fairways in the world. Add to than an abundance of natural wonders, luxury resorts and seafood restaurants, and Monterey might just be the ideal destination for your next getaway.

    Other Things to Note:
    HOA includes community pool, spa, tennis courts and a sport court. We're sorry, you may not bring your adorable pets to this home. This includes service animals as the owners are highly allergic to animals. Anyone found bringing animals into the home will incur an additional $10,000 fee for the stringent cleaning required to make the home habitable again for the property owners. Your hosts have provided the services of Carmel Coast Estate, Inc a locally owned and operated full service Real Estate and Property Management company. Your Property Managers are available by cellular phone, text messaging and email during your visit. Here at Carmel Coast Estate, we take every measure to ensure the cleanliness of our fully furnished homes. We clean our homes with hospital grade, environmentally friendly, pet & child safe cleaning solutions. Our primary cleaning agent kills 99.99% of all pathogens known to man. As a Sanitizer, it kills 99.99% of common bacteria, As a Virucide it kills 99.99% of viruses, ranging from Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2, Influenza A2, CV1 through 19, Ebola, HBV and HIV-1, Hepatitis C. County of Monterey Transient Occupancy Registration Certificate # TBD Monterey County Ordnance requires we collect Transient Occupancy Tax equal to 10.5% of rent. Some Vacation Rental websites do not support collection of T.O.T. In those cases, the Tax must be paid directly to Property Manager prior to or upon arrival for all Rentals shorter than 30 Days. In order to maintain proper security for owners, guests and contractors, the exterior of this property has electronic surveillance equipment and the property owners may conduct monitoring and surveillance activities. The deployment of electronic surveillance is limited to locations that do not violate the reasonable expectations of privacy. Electronic surveillance shall not be implemented in situations where confidential or sensitive information is likely to be recorded and distinguishable. Electronic surveillance shall not be installed inside the home; however, doors to the exterior may be covered by electronic surveillance. Monthly rental rates are discounted to reflect that guests booking reservations of more than 28 days are required to pay Gas, Electric and Water Utilities in addition to the quoted rental rate.
