I liked the location (next door to a store was great, and even quiet). The house was clean and had some ice waiting for us. There were warnings about not drinking the tap water (well water + road salt runoff = bad) and some normal information about things nearby and what day is trash day. When we saw we were next door to a country store, we were concerned, but turns out it's nice that the place closes at 7pm, and honestly we barely noticed when it was open. We made several trips (cleared them out of skim milk over our stay). Everyone was great!
The only issue we really had was the VRBO policy that hosts may ask you to bring your own sheets and towels. Why?
When I consulted the listing, "bring your own towels and bedding" was not listed. The host was upfront about this in our first communication, and was very polite. The host offered to provide them for an extra fee (the default cleaning fee was VERY low, which was nice), but still, why is that even an option? Who wants to bring sheets and towels on vacation?
