"Rooms were nice and clean but we had an annoying noise coming from an air vent inside a wardrobe that drove us wild, made them aware and they attempted a bodge to cover it up but it still persisted and spoiled our sleep. The only other complaint is when we were dining a family with young children had been eating beside us and the kids had food on the floor, due to the hot weather there were a lot of flies about and they were congrigating around the food on the floor. "I had a wonderful stay at Gretna Green Hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the local area. The breakfast was excellent, and the overall atmosphere was warm and relaxing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Gretna Green and would happily stay here again."

"Ideal for a couple break, in my opinion, not as much for solo business travelling. Rooms are hot but fan was provided when asked. It’s an old building bathrooms could a be bit nicer but feeling of the hotel is great. All beautifully maintained outside and excellent spot for walking. Hence 5 stars review"

"This is an older hotel in a gorgeous location right on Grasmere Lake. The interior has been modernized, which some traditionalists lament, but it is very comfortable. There is humorous, whimsical art throughout the facility. The large spa is a real plus. Breakfasts are ample and offer plenty of options. Large bathtubs in the rooms are very nice. Our shower stall often smelled musty, but this could be relieved by leaving the door open. A full length mirror in each room would be a good addition....
