The house has amazing views from its deck and the ability to move the plastic table from outdoors to indoors and part way worked well to deal with the range of hot sun and strong winds we encountered. The house is clearly 50 years old and seems to have had little love recently. To some extent this is reflected in the price but the offering could be improved by spending less than R1000 on removing a broken pot by the front door, providing more than one saucepan, one dish towel and two toilet rolls and replacing a missing plastic wheel in the dishwasher. In short, a great house but let down badly by small details and its overall condition.

We had a few minor issues but the management team immediately addressed them. Great service and very responsive. The ad states that there are stairs , but if you have mobility issues, they can be a challenge. The view is amazing!!!! I would go back

Ich möchte ausdrücklich darauf hinweisen, dass das Haus sauber war.In irgendwelchen Kommentaren habe ich gelesen, dass es Ungeziefer gab.Bei meinem Aufenthalt habe ich kein einziges gesehen.Das Haus ist etwas älter aber sehr sauberAuch hatte ich das Glück dass kein Nachmieter kam und ich lange am Nachmittag umsonst im Haus verweilen durfte.Herzlichen Dank

The bottle of wine on arrival, as well as the pillow chocolates was a lovely touch.Sun Lion Villa is in an amazing location with a stunning view The amenities are perfect for a family/single parent with teenagers. Would not recommend for small children, due to the stairs

My aunt, brother, and I had an amazing experience at this beautiful home in Camps Bay. From the moment we arrived, the owner, Anthony, made us feel so welcome. He was kind, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The property manager, Clarah, was equally wonderful and always just a message away, checking in to make sure our stay was comfortable.The house itself is stunning, located in a scenic area with expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean and the city. It was the kind of view that takes your breath away every morning. The home was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Cape Town.The only thing to note is the stairs. There are quite a few (about 63 leading up to the villa and several more inside). It wasn’t a problem for us, but something guests should be aware of if mobility is a concern.Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you, Anthony and Clarah, for making our trip unforgettable!

Amazing location

The location is incredible, and it’s hard to beat. However, the house was not as clean as I had expected. There was dirt, spoons, and other debris under the couch. There’s a maid who lives in the house, but this wasn’t mentioned in the post. There’s a door in the kitchen that leads to her part of the house. We only discovered this once while we were there. The pool was nice, but it could have been cleaned before we arrived. As we were checking out, people started coming to clean the pool, which was inconvenient because they should have come on the day of our check-in, not the day of our checkout. Despite these issues, we had a great time. The location is amazing, and the views are breathtaking..

Extraordinary view

We were really comfortable but would not stay again. The steps are for younger folk. I do suggest a railing be put up. My husband and I are approaching 70 and while I am fit it is not for anyone with knee issues.

Totally unsatisfied

Although the house had an amazing view which was promised, it lacked cleanliness. It was to put it bluntly and thoroughly filthy. Everything about the decor was dated and furnishings was old and out of date.There were cockroaches both in the living room area and in the kitchen draws . The steel frame that overlooked the pool was very rusty and looked unsafe. The decking in areas was very spongy. On top of this there are 76 steps, although we was made aware of this, they would challenge the fittest . I would not recommend this property to any one with small children or elder people. The property could do with a total overhaul as its not seen one for many many years. .cockroaches

Camps Bay SPECTACTULAR View - very Private too!

We really enjoyed our time in Camps Bay. The quiet home with a pool and a clear view of the beach below and the western sky gave us wonderful sunsets and memorable experiences. Clarah, the housekeeper is a gem; deserves a pay raise. She was very helpful and readily available. The pool was well cared for.

Fantastisch uitzicht en perfecte ligging

We hebben genoten van het huis, de plek en het mooie zwembad. Het uitzicht is fenomenaal en zal nooit vervelen. De villa zelf is wel wat verouderd. Niet geschikt voor hele jonge kinderen maar voor onze leeftijd kinderen (6) was het prima. Veel trappen op met bagage, oprit zit onderaan de weg. Kakkerlakken/ torren in de keuken. Zeer vriendelijk ontvangst, goede service en snelle reacties.

The most blissful stay

I loved the location … the view !!!!! The pool , and my favorite part of my stay was the house keeper Clarah and her lovely daughter they greeted us took care of us with such kindness would stay again a million times over . The view was immaculate and I recommend for anyone staying in especially for a couple days you cannot just stay for one night it’s to beautiful!

Beautiful spot, comfortable place, friendly folks

My goodness, what a beautiful spot!!! The house is on a very steep slope and as a result there are seemingly no straight lines in it. We found that charming and so enjoyed the views. It's a short uber ride down to Camps Bay which is where you can get all the provisions you need, Anthony was easy to work with and Clarah who was on-site was helpful and supportive, even doing a quick video call to help us understand the surprisingly complex cooktop. Their flexibility was greatly appreciated.

Great location and view. Needs a little maintenance

This is a nice space with an up-to-date kitchen and a large common area in a safe location, with an amazing view. The property manager is great and quickly addressed any issues we had. There are 52 steps from the street to the front door, so this property is not for those with mobility problems. There are a few items in need of repair: a number of lightbulbs were out, 2 of the 3 lanterns (for use during load-shedding) did not work, a toilet and a showerhead both leaked). We prefer our privacy and did not mention these to the manager. Also, there is no dryer as mentioned in the list of amenities....our clothes dried pretty quickly outside, but it requires some planning and nice weather. We still recommend the villa...it just needs some maintenance.

Camps Bay Vacay

This was a great property, the views were amazing and the location was fabulous. The pool area was beautiful and very relaxing. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. I agree with a former review that one bedroom clearly outshines the other, the "king" bedroom can get a bit stuffy, especially when load shedding cuts power during the night. It also was unfortunate that you have to close all windows and doors at night so no ocean breezes to lull you to sleep. Also, with steep stairs and open railings, the house isn't suited to anyone with mobility issues or young children. Some linens and chairs are showing some wear as well, but for the price in this location, you can't really ask for a better house.

Wir waren in der einmaligen Sun Lion Villa. Zuerst aber mussten wir 70 Stufen erklimmen um das Haus zu erreichen...mit Gepäck eine echte Aufgabe. Die Lage des Hauses ist wirklich einmalig. Ein wunderbaren Blick über das Meer, den Löwenkopf und die zwölf Apostel und die Bergstation vom Tafelberg. Traumhaft! Das Haus und Anwesen ist eher eine Herausforderung. Wer ein modernes, hochwertiges, gut eingerichtetes Haus erwartet, wird enttäuscht. Ein Sammelsurium abgewohnter Möbel hat hier ein Zuhause gefunden. Die beiden Duschbäder sind okay und sauber. Die alten Fensterdichtungen sind lose und das Terrassenfenster springt immer aus der Führung. Die Rollos sind ausgefranst und schäbig. Eine Schande für ein derartiges Haus. Die Küche ist OK, die Bestecke absoluter Billigkram. Das Schlafzimmer mit Meerblick ist nutzbar, aber die Teppiche alt und verschlissen. Insgesamt ist das Haus weder modern noch hochwertig. Klasse ist der Fernseher und WIFI Bandbreite, aber deswegen waren wir nicht gekommen. Der Grill ist ein Witz: Wackelig, schäbig, Brenner durchgerostet, Abdeckhaube am Deckel festgeklebt. Die Terassenstühle und Liegen stark verschlissen, die Sonnenschirme defekter Billigkram. Der Pool Reiniger war defekt. Nachdem ich ihn repariert habe und den Pool grundgereinigt hatte war dies zumindest OK. Wir empfehlen den Sun Lion in dem Zustand absolut nicht. Er muss grundsaniert und auf den aktuellen Standard gehoben werden. Schade, wir hatten uns auf den Urlaub sehr gefreut.

Sensationelle Lage

Die Lage des Hauses ist phantastisch. Wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt. Wir hatten das Glück, den Eigentümer des Hauses selber kennenzulernen. So war ihm auch bewusst, dass ein gewisser Renovationsbedarf besteht. Die Küchenausstattung in Bezug auf Küchengeräte ist super, doch haben wir dann selber noch eine Salatschüssel und eine Bratpfanne gesponsort. Wir würden aber sofort wieder das Haus für einen nächsten Aufenthalt in Kapstadt mieten.

Deceiving

Good location with stunning views. The stay should have been the icing on a good vacation. However the premises were only superficially cleaned. We had to wash the sheets, pillow cases and pillow covers in the one room because they were so discolored and smelled. The shower head in one of the showers fell off; the toaster was filthy, the dishwasher filter was greasy and had bits of food still in it. The pool was dirty. The BBQ was dirty . We had to ask for all these to be cleaned. We never did get to use the pool during our stay. What a shame that poor maintenance and bad housekeeping ruined our stay. We almost moved out the evening we arrived. I cannot recommend this rental.
