Amazing place!

Excellent location so close to the beach. Our family of 9 adults and 3 children had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous old home. Our family loved the huge front porch and that every bedroom had its own bathroom. I highly recommend this beach house!

Perfect family vacation

The house was perfect, even better than what was shown online. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook anything! Kids loved their attic getaway from the adults in the house! We had our pets with us and the fenced backyard was perfect! A quick walk to beach and town all added up to a great family vacation! Thank you so much!!!

Family trip 2023

Property had a great location and was clean. We loved the proximity to the beach, the kids loved the third floor. Queen beds on second floor could use better mattresses and or bed frames as they were wobbly and not real comfortable. Shower heads were a bit low for the adults. We enjoyed our stay though and would come back to this house again.

Stunning, spacious property -- excellent for groups with great rooms and bathrooms for all.

This is such an amazing home! So many charming rooms, and so much space for a group of adults to stay together, while also having plenty of space to themselves. It is short, delightful walk to the beach and also to the main street, which is filled with delightful shops. The host is a great communicator. This will likely become an annual outing for us.

The best location. A great house, great space. Comfortable living room and furniture. Cute kitchen and well stocked. Nice outdoor space too. Love that all the bedrooms have their own bathrooms.

Perfect summer home

The house is an older Victorian (c 1912), and it was an absolute delight to stay there and explore the house. There are tons of rooms and spaces, multiple indoor and outdoorporches to sit, talk, read, and relax. The house was exceptionally well stocked with more beach chairs and accessories than we could possibly need, any cooking gadget and spice you could think of, movies, games, books, etc. There were 2 refridgerators, with more than enough space for us. Neighborhood is perfect - many similar 100+ year old Victorians, which were all gorgeous and well maintained. Location was likewise perfect - literally one block to the beach. We were also a 1 minute walk to Mason Street, which has a multitude of fantastic little shops, restaurants, galleries, bakeries, etc. We couldn't have been happier with the house and would definitely come back in the future

Sea Gate was fun!

We enjoyed our stay at Sea Gate and the Cape Charles community. We were very close to the water, just a one block golf cart drive away or an easy walk. The home was very clean and stocked with any and all cooking utensils we needed in addition to floats and a paddle board. The one disappointment was the TV’s in the bedrooms did not work. Possibly the rental company might have helped but we were ok without them. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience.

Great home and location

Second year in a row renting this place and couldn’t be happier. More than enough room for our group of 6 adults and two children. Fantastic location within walking distance from everything. Property manager is very responsive and good at communication. Excited to go back here next year!

Great Escape at Sea Gate

Sea Gate provided the perfect backdrop for a fun weekend with old friends celebrating a birthday. Property is conveniently located one block to the beach. It's obvious that this home is well-loved as it is outfitted with anything you could possibly imagine that you might need. It was once a bed and breakfast and is well furnished with lots of eclectic goodies, books, games, you name it, to dig into. The back yard is also fenced which is excellent. Other perks - two refrigerators, a great front porch, lots of places to hang out, cornhole, foosball and a stand up arcade on the top floor. We barely saw the kids. The property manager, Doug, is super friendly and responsive. We hope to make our visit a tradition. We'll see. Now don't steal our weekend, folks!

Perfect Family Vacation

We had the best time in this house. It was so close to the beach. They had beach chairs, towels and a cart to bring all of our stuff with us. It was so helpful. There was plenty of room for all 4 families and 4 kids under 6. We are already talking about when we will book again for next year. We had a great time! The property manager was also very quick to answer all my questions and let us check in early because the house was already clean and ready for us. It was so nice!

We’ll Be Back!

We had the best time! It was a little difficult to talk ourselves into leaving the front porch to go do anything because the porch was so awesome. Having the beach only a block away was very convenient. When our coffee maker broke, they had a working one there for us so quickly! Can’t wait to come back.

The perfect getaway!

The photos definitely don’t do this property justice! It’s lovely, yet so comfortable and well-located. It’s perfect for a large or more than one family, with at least a half bath in each room. We had no idea to expect so many accessories and definitely overpacked bringing our own. The backyard was spacious and perfect for kids with tetherball. The block is great for scooters or bikes as well and just a hop down to the beach!

A Family Haven

With our growing family it’s been tough to find a place where we can all be together to eat, laugh, rest and just enjoy each other’s company in comfort. Sea Gate was absolutely perfect for us. Being in this beautiful, spacious and gracious home felt wonderful. This early 20th century home offered a much needed respite from our 21st century concerns and was very well equipped with the conveniences we’ve come to expect in our own homes. (The extra large fridge on the porch was a great bonus for this family of foodies.) And being just a few houses from the beach and a couple of short blocks from shops and restaurants was wonderfully convenient. We truly felt at home there and look forward to another stay in the not too distant future.
