Little Hickory Top - Mountain Side Modern Cabin

  • Welcome to Little Hickory Top Cabin. Named after the mountain it overlooks, this modern cabin is perched on a ridge facing Bent Creek Experimental Forest. Convenient location offers easy access to all that Asheville has to offer. Find rest and recharge with beautiful views from every room, and a great deck to grill from.

    This modern cabin is warm and welcoming with beautiful features throughout, including large timber framed ceilings and stairs. The home is three stories with a common area on the main floor and bedrooms on the upper and lower. It is EcoStar certified and was featured in the 2020 Asheville Parade of Homes!

    The home is located in a quite cove behind Bent Creek Experimental Forest and Enka Lake. There is access into the forest less than a mile away while still convenient to the city. 20 minutes to downtown Asheville, Biltmore Estate, and the main entrance to Bent Creek. 30 Minutes from the Airport and Sierra Nevada. If you enjoy mountain biking and want to explore some classic Pisgah loops you are 40 minutes from the entrance to the Ranger District.

    The easiest way to get around is by car, the home is located in a mountain side neighborhood with paved roads and drive way, accessible by any vehicle. The roads and drive way are steep so please take extra precaution in inclement weather or at night.

    For those interested in working remote or needing connectivity the home has 400Mbps cable internet service and a Orbi Mesh router to ensure good WiFi throughout the house. Cell signal is also great, with LTE and 5G on both Verizon and T-Mobile.

    If you are bringing little ones we have a pack n play (with sheets), baby gates, kids dinnerware, and a baby/toddler carrier hiking backpack! We have three young kids so if you need anything in advance let us know!

    *Please Note*
    We want to be great stewards of the home and neighborhood. Please be respectful while driving to the cabin, drive slow in the neighborhood (15mph!) and watch for pedestrians, kids, and pets. Please no partying or loud noise at any time during your stay.

Rental was everything we needed & more. Well stocked and nice for two families. Easy drive to Biltmore & local restaurants and shopping. Beautiful Mountain Views! Loved seeing deer walking through the property.

Loved this house! It was very spacious for me and my husband. The upstairs bed was comfortable. The amenities were well stocked, and it was spotless. The location was great, not far at all from downtown, West Asheville, arboretum. We hiked some at the pull of spot on the way up to the house, too. The hosts communicated very efficiently and thoroughly. It was easy to charge our Tesla from the outside plug of the house, as well.

This was a great property. Easy access to hiking and mountain biking. Clean, spacious, and had all the amenities and more we could want. There was a steep driveway that could be challenging in winter but more than accessible in dry conditions.

Beautiful home and great stay! We’ve stayed in a lot of vacation rentals and this home is one of the top houses we’ve stayed at. We really appreciated that all windows had curtains or blinds, being from the city it’s weird to feel exposed without them at night. It’s a great property, quiet and secluded but not far away from town. There were neighbor dogs barking late at night but our sound machine drowned them out. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back. The driveway is an experience, we have 360 cams on our car and that was a huge help!
The friendly face on the top wooden step, it made us happy every time we went up the stairs. 😁

Little Hickory Top

Had an amazing stay with my wife. We thoroughly enjoyed the views off the back porch and the seclusiveness yet close enough to Asheville to enjoy the area. Would highly recommend to stay here. We will definitely be back again.

The cabin was clean and well equipped. The views were magnificent. The wildlife (dear) was a splendid surprise. Very cozy and homie we felt very comfortable.

Great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and cozy place! We were comfortable the whole stay. Everything was very clean and fully stocked with anything we may have needed! We couldn't have picked a better place to stay! We definitely plan to come back! Thanks again!

Beautiful, Stylish, Immaculate AND an amazing view!

Gorgeous modern vibe mountain home close to all of the Asheville activities. It’s almost too luxurious to be a vacation rental! This is the cleanest Vrbo we have ever stayed in. The owners have made sure that their guests enjoy their stay.

Perfect for a weekend getaway. Kitchen had everything I needed to cook. Hammock was perfect for relaxing and reading. The protest was clean, up to date, and had the most amazing view of any property we’ve ever stayed in. Would love to travel back

Great stay in Candler

The property was very nice. Very clean and new, and extremely well outfitted for our family. We had a great couple of nights - would have liked to have stayed longer. We loved Asheville. There is great hiking, eating and gallery visiting. We will be back to the area.

Great place!

Very nice place. Very nice and quiet location, very clean and we had everything we needed. The bed we slept in was 10/10 comfortable. I only have very positive things to say and zero negative remarks. If you like the outdoors then you'll very much appreciate the unique deck with it's view.
