This property was better than expected and our family enjoyed our stay for a week.
The condo:
This unit is on the second floor and high enough to enjoy the beach view. It's essentially two efficiency units, one with a beach balcony and one with a road/lagoon balcony. The kitchens were nicely equipped with all of the essentials, including coffee for our first morning since we arrived so late the previous night. The condo has nice chairs to enjoy the balcony and the four of us were very comfortable throughout our stay. The owner also provides 4 chairs, umbrella, noodles and boogie board, shopping bags, beach bag, and a wheeled cart for the grocery store. These were a nice convenience. Another big bonus to this unit is the water filter provided, so we had plenty of drinking water. There was also a washer/dryer with detergent in the condo. I would have packed lighter if I had known this ahead of time. Beach towels, shampoo, body wash, dish soap, paper towels, etc were all provided and we greatly appreciated those extras.
The condo:
Ocean Dream is located less than 5 minutes from the main Hotel Zone and club/bar area. This had mostly pros because we could get to the grocery store by walking (bring the cart and bags provided) and there was a lot of shopping and plenty of restaurants. We ate out daily and never had to walk far. Once we were at the condo, we didn't need taxis at all. We booked tours ahead of time which provided transportation, so we didn't need a rental car or taxis at all. The only con is that the nightclub music was a bit loud at night and you could hear it from the lagoon side room. Bring ear plugs but it was still a little loud for me at night (til like 3am). You can't hear the music from the beach side room at all. Another bonus to staying at Ocean Dream is that the pools are very nice overlooking the beach, and there is a restaurant and bar on site. We used them a couple of times and they were very nice. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas at the pool and the pools get shaded in early afternoon which kept us cool. Our things were also safe and there are gates to the property entrance. The guards always checked our wristbands.
Overall we had a wonderful stay for the week and were very safe and comfortable. The beach is beautiful (despite the sargassum in June). You can walk for miles in one direction. We would stay here again.
