House was beautiful, terrific surroundings , 1/2 drive to Lecce. Fully equipped ( no condiments ) outside kitchen would handle a dozen people , huge pool.A special affectionate little kitten kept visiting .We would stay there agsin in a heartbeat . It would be super for a family as gardens are enormous .

Highly recommend this rustic Puglian property

We had a fantastic stay in the villa with extended family,As other have said, the outdoor kitchen (oven, hob, bbq, fridge/freezer, dish washer, sink) are a fabulous edition and we spent all our time cooking outside.The property is about 10 minutes from the nearest supermarket (Lidl or Conad) but you’ll need a car to get around.There are a couple of wineries close by for some lovely wine and the nearest town (Campi Salentina) has a brilliant restaurant called Piccola Osteria which is a must visit.The highlight of the villa is without a doubt the house keeper - Oronzino - who looks after you during the stay. Super friendly, speaks English (through the translator on his phone!) and takes great pride in showing you the local produce growing the gardens. What’s better than plucking a lemon off the tree for your lemon cello spritz!He showed us how to make fabulous antipasti from the garden peppers, tomatoes and aubergines, and then took loads back to the villa to share. Gave us a big bottle of home made red wine and also made almond brittle. Just the best free experience!The villa is quite rustic but clean and around 25 mins from Lecce. The other popular areas are around 50 mins away (Ostuni/Alberobello).We’d come back here in a heartbeat!

Masseria mattiani

A beautiful place for our family of ten to relax and enjoy time together. We were very well looked after by Oronzino who brought us fresh tomatoes, beetroot, rocket and plums from the vegetable patch. Not to mention the homemade wine and frittata!The villa is so beautiful inside with huge domed ceilings and lovely thick walls to keep us cool in the 35 degree summer heat. But our favourite area was the outside pool, gazebo and outside kitchen area. We had many happy dinners sat around the table in the much needed shade and several bbqs with lots of local wine!We would highly recommend the villa for large groups looking for a quiet base to explore Puglia. We ended up staying home more than venturing out, partly due to the hot weather but also because it was just a great place to relax and be together.

Amazing time at Masseria mattiani

We had the best time here! The house, bedrooms and pool are lovely, everything very comfortable and spacious. The best part for the kids was the farm. Oronzino showed us baby chicks, frogs, took the children to pick apricots, lemons and mulberries. He made almond brittle for us in the most fantastic demonstration. It was magical. It’s 20mins from Lecce and the nearest town, campi salentina, is pretty with a great gelateria.

A Wonderful House

This house was just like the pictures and worked perfect for our group of 8 adults. My only regret is not having more time to spend just hanging out at the house. I highly recommend staying here. The caretaker, Oronizino, was great!

Great place for the area.

We booked this great place because it was central to places, we wanted to travel. We made many day trips to different parts of the Puglia region The groundkeeper was very nice and is very handy with his phone to translate Italian and English. We had a great time, and the outdoor cooking faculties were amazing.

Really nice

The best part of the experience was orizino the caretakeras other have stated. He is generous and kind and even though he only speaks Italian we were able to communicate because my wife speaks Italian. He grilled us vegetables gave us a tour of the farm and was so very kind even showing us how he make caramel candy. The air conditioning isn’t great and the beds ok but we loved the experience.

Hidden Gem

We stayed at this wonderful villa for 10 nights with our family celebrating my husband’s retirement. Our grown up children and their partners plus our grandchild of 5 months. The villa exceeded our expectations, we were met by the lovely Oronzio who showed us around and explained everything about the villa. Oronzio showed us how he decants the wine and supplied us with plenty! We made a lovely anti pasta using the home grown tomatoes with our family. Which was delicious! He showed us his handmade oven and we made almond brittle on my Birthday. His hospitality was outstanding and such a lovely friendly man. He was always at hand if you had a problem. We have stayed in many villas all over the world and this one absolutely exceeded all our expectations. Lovely huge bedrooms and private bathrooms. Lovely outside kitchen facilities and huge dining table. Sad to leave but most definitely we will return! Puglia is a beautiful part of Italy to visit!

Nice villa

This villa was great for our two families. The space was clean and well set up and the bedrooms were perfect for us. The outside area was wonderful and there was lots of space for the kids. The kids unfortunately could not play soccer on the open grass due to the landscape lighting but there was a field close by that we learned of the last couple of days. The outside cooking space was wonderful and well set up. The location was ok; I found Campi Salentina underwhelming but it had all the amenities.

Amazing Puglia Stay

This villa is amazing! Bedrooms all have bathrooms and air conditioning. Wonderful pool! Beautiful property! Pierangelo, property owner, promptly responded to all communications! Our contact, Orozino, was so nice, thoughtful and took wonderful care of the property. My family of 10 loved our stay! I highly recommend this beautiful villa!

Outstanding villa

House is amazing, all renovated with AC in each room and bathrooms in suite in each room. Perfect for families or friends traveling together. Outdoor space is spectacular with full kitchen, fridge and dishwasher. Pool is a bonus for sure, particularly for the kids. Pierangelo and Oronzino were very friendly, attentive and responsive. Local supermarket just 4 minutes away. Just 22 minutes from Lecce which is a beautiful city. We had a great time! Highly recommended!!

Charming villa in countryside

We had 4 couples stay here quite comfortably- 4 en suite bedrooms. Communication for check in was easy. Please note Oronzino, who lives in home on the farm, is so very quick to respond- he doesn't speak English, so we used our translator to manage. The best place to cook was outside where we used bbq, stove top- has its own fridge out there also. We stayed a week so we had to stock up and needed 2 refrigerators! Kitchen needed more utensils to serve with and spatulas etc for cooking. New bbq utensils were delivered to us when the owner heard we didn't have anything to use for the bbq. Thank you Pierangelo. One thing we didn't grasp is that it is far from most everything. It's truly out in the countryside, at least 1.5 miles from closest town for markets. Note many markets are closed early afternoon for a few hours. The closest notable town is Lecce, about 25 minutes drive. The neighborhood around the villa is not great condition, even though our property was lovely. We hired a local chef who prepared a terrific typical local dinner for us! That was special and very reasonable! There are many places to reach within 1-1 1/2 hours drive from the villa, so plan your day trips.

Très belle villa

Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre séjour à Masseria Mattiani. La villa est très agréable et comfortable avec un beau jardin . Oronzino et son épouse ont été absolument adorables et toujours disponibles pour nous conduire dans les lieux alentours où nous faire découvrir les produits de la cuisine locale. La villa est bien placée géographiquement pour visiter tous les villes et villages des Pouilles entre Bari , Lecce , Otrante et Gallipoli que nous avons parcouru avec délice. Un grand merci pour votre disponibilité dans la préparation de notre voyage. Nous rentrons avec de magnifiques photos et de beaux souvenirs. de ce beau pays d’italie du Sud. Amitiés Thierry

Traumhafte Woche in Masseria Mattiani

Es war für uns (eine Gruppe von 9 Freuden) eine unvergessliche Woche. Das Anwesen, zusammen mit dem umliegenden Garten, ist riesig und ruhig gelegen. Der nächst gelegene Ort - Campi Salentina, mit guten Einkaufs- und Ausgehmöglichkeiten, ist etwa 2 km (ein Auto empfehlenswert) entfernt. Die Gegend ist touristisch jedoch keinesfalls überlaufen. Die Außenanlage mit großer Terrasse, Obstgarten und Swimmingpool ist sehr gepflegt. Es gibt eine gut ausgestattete Innen- und Außenküche (jedoch kein Kaffeeautomat). Alle Schlafzimmer mit modernen Badezimmern en suite sind geräumig, die Betten sehr bequem, die Klimaanlage funktioniert sehr gut. Das absolute Highlight war aber Oronzino - die gute Seele von Masseria Mattiani. Immer gut gelaunt und zuvorkommend kümmerte er sich um alle unsere Bedürfnisse. Er brachte uns jeden Tag frisches Obst und verwöhnte immer wieder mit Köstlichkeiten der apulischen Küche. Hier noch mal vielen Dank dafür! Wie bekamen von ihm auch tolle restaurant tipps, dort trafen wir nur Einheimische, das Essen und Weine waren köstlich und erstaunlich preisgünstig. Eine Woche war schnell um, mit Wehmut haben wir unsere Koffer gepackt, wären gerne noch länger geblieben.

Extraordinary experience

We had an absolutely top-notch experience at Masseria Mattiani. We fell in love with the place and its beautiful region Puglia. The property has wonderful historic charm with many tastefully preserved centuries old items while offering all modern amenities that one needs for a great vacation. The owner Pierangelo and property manager Oronzino are extremely nice, easy to communicate with and make sure guests have everything they need throughout their stay and that they feel welcome and comfortable. We were a group of eight adults and four young children aged 1 through 7 and we spent a truly unforgettable week at the Masseria in late August. It offered everything we needed for a family getaway. The Masseria is located in a huge functioning farm with countless fig trees, grapes, tomatoes, other vegetables etc. that are available daily for guests either picked directly or so kindly provided by Oronzino or Pierangelo. Not to mention the fresh eggs from the hens who live on the farm and were a major attraction for our kids. The moment you enter the property, you immediately feel you’ve made a great choice. Everything in the house is clean and well functioning, 5 separate rooms with modern private bathrooms. Amazing outdoors fully-equipped kitchen area and covered patio with large table and a very nice outside barbecue with firewood from the farm. The pool is a few steps away, great size and perfect for young children. The location within Puglia also excellent for exploring.

Un bijou dans son écrin

Vous voulez visiter les Pouilles dans son écrin ? Venez découvrir la masseria Mattiani où tout rime avec plaisir et simplicité. Un vrai havre de paix dans lequel où il fait bon vivre. Signore Oronzino, est exceptionnel et sait vous faire apprécier votre séjour. Entourée d’arbres fruitiers, ce lieu est un vrai eden où vous profiterez du patio et de sa piscine. N’hesitez pas à sillonner les alentours (Lecce - top - Gallipoli, Ostuni, Matera, Monopoli etc….) pour visiter une région des Pouilles très riche en histoire et agréable pour sa gastronomie. 3 mots pour résumer : exceptionnel, paisible et convivialité

Splendido soggiorno a Masseria Mattiani

Eravamo una famiglia di 12 persone, dalle nonne all’ultima nipotina di un anno. La masseria era perfetta per tutti noi, 5 stanze con ognuna il suo bagno, comodissima, due cucine complete, una interna e l’altra esterna con barbecue adiacente alla terrazza coperta con un tavolo per 12/15 persone. Una bella piscina nel giardino ed un tavolo da tennis nella terrazza. A metà strada tra Ionio ed Adriatico, è stato facile raggiungere le spiagge decidendo quale dopo aver verificato con la banderuola la direzione del vento (consiglio del Sig. Oronzino). A cinque km da Campi Salentina per la spesa. La macchina è comunque necessaria. Il proprietario, Sig. Pierangelo Bianco è sempre stato reattivo a rispondere ai miei messaggi di richiesta di informazioni, anche per il noleggio di un auto o per organizzare il trasporto da o per l’aeroporto. Un ringraziamento speciale va al Sig Oronzino che ci ha ricevuto alla masseria. È stato molto di aiuto procurandoci una culla richiesta all’ultimo ed è stato sempre presente per ogni evenienza. Quasi ogni giorno ci portava verdura fresca dell’orto: fiori di zucca, pomodori,insalata ecc…. Ci ha fatto scoprire i pomodori arrostiti e altre prelibatezze del luogo. Siamo stati tutti molto felici alla masseria Mattiani.

Une magnifique maison

Les chambres de la maison sont très agréables et la maison est bien équipée. La grande piscine est super. Mais surtout, Oronzino, qui s'occupe de la maison, nous a accueilli vraiment gentiment et n'a pas arrêté de nous amener des produits de son jardin. Il a été adorable. A recommander sans souci !

Puglia’s best kept secret

I can’t stress how amazing this stay was. Pierangelo communicated days before on What’s app and gave me his contact as well as Oronzino. Oronzino who manages the property met us at the property and showed us everything. He was more than hospitable he was simply amazing. He gave us farm fresh eggs everyday, fresh vegetables, sun dried tomatoes and much more. The property is heaven. The rooms are great and the in ground pool was meticulously cleaned everyday by Oronzino. He was very helpful at every point and communicated daily. We used this as a launching point to travel locally in Puglia and it was great. You would need a car here but we rented a 9 person van from Brindisi airport and that was critical. Highly suggest this villa as there are so many great things. We had adults, teens and a toddler and everyone loved it. Book this before the secret gets out!! Lovely villa

Stayed for a week in June. Great villa and facilities and very helpful owner and host. Great outdoor space and pool. Good base for exploring Puglia with nice towns and beaches within 45 minutes. Oronzino, the villa manager was outstanding.

Relaxing and enjoyable

Well equipped old farm house. Great number of spacious and comfortable bedrooms, lovely pool. Grounds very safe for children.
