Haus mit spektakulärer Aussicht

Wir haben zwei wunderbare Wochen im Calla School House verbracht. Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Bei unserer Ankunft war alles bestens vorbereitet. Alles hat wunderbar geklappt. Man merkt, dass das Haus auch von den Besitzern bewohnt wird, da es sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und dekoriert ist. Die Lage des Hauses ist super, man hat von jedem Fenster eine tolle Aussicht. Die Sonnenuntergänge waren traumhaft.

The Best

This was just a marvelous place to stay. The house was a great location and equipped with you need. All the information we received was spot on accurate. We had great Irish weather - sunny some days, windy and rainy others. The School House was like a safe harbor. Plenty to do in the area - hiking, shopping, great food at local restaurants, convenient grocery shopping. Thanks to the owners. A great memory.

Wir gingen von Fenster zu Fenster-immer neue Blicke auf die wunderbare Umgebung-in typischen Farben Connemaras–und das aus einem Haus, welches voller Liebe gestaltet und voller Vertrauen best-ausgestattet von den Vermietern Gabriele und Hans überlassen ist.Jedes Detail spricht von Ihrer Geschichte mit dem Haus und der Region.Liebevoll aus einer alten Schule mit Herz und Mut umgestaltet. Das lockt sogar alte Schüler an.Viele kleine Botschaften im ganzen Haus helfen mit Technik und Umständen gut zurechtzukommen.Selbst Regensachen und Gummistiefel stehen bereit,falls es typisch irisch wird. Eine Gästemappe gibt Tips für Ausflüge und ein Gästebuch zeugt von all dem Glück, welches dieses Haus gebracht hat. Wie schön,dass auch die Gastgeber immer wieder darin schreiben.Leben mit den Gezeiten. Wir erkundeten die direkt benachbarte Insel,die nur bei Ebbe erreichbar ist. Barfuß durchs Watt und zwischen Schafen durchs Gras zum Baden.Die Seehunde, die wir hörten, konnten wir leider nicht sehen.Strand-ReitenSand-/Korallenstrände in der Nähe des Hauses.Clifden lohnenswert,Skyroad mit sagenhaften Ausblicken.Loop-Wanderung durchs Moor.Roundstone, bezaubernde Töpferei.Wir konnten es nie erwarten,wieder ins zweite Zuhause nach Calla zu kommen,Torfeuer -Gemütlichkeit-Hoffnung auf neuen Sonnenaufgang im Wintergarte.Dieser Ort und dieses Land spenden jedem,was er braucht:Kraft, Entspannung oder Trost-von allen bisher bereisten Ferienhäusern Irlands zieht es uns hierher am meisten zurück- Danke

Viel Herzblut in schöner Umgebung

Wir haben uns im Calla old schoolhouse sehr gefühlt. Es ist mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Nach den Ausflügen in die wirklich wunderschöne Umgebung, kamen wir immer gerne in das gemütliche Haus zurück. Es war sehr sauber, geschmackvoll und schön eingerichtet und es gab viele gute Erklärungen und Tipps für einen perfekten Urlaub.

Paradise

We loved our stay in Callow which is the best location in Connemara. The information provided by the hosts was great and helped us plan our walks and activities every day. The local beach is beautiful and quiet and great for a swim. At low tide you can walk to the island and explore which the kids loved. The mountain & sea views from every part of the house are spectacular and there are nice seating areas dotted all over the gardens to enjoy.

Begeisterung

Unsere erste Reise nach Irland. Wir verbrachten eine wunderbare und sehr bereichernde Woche in diesem aussergewöhnlich schönen Haus sowie der Umgebung von Connemara. Wir sind begeistert! Es fehlte uns an nichts, eher in diesem Zusammenhang, fehlt uns Calla seit unserer Abreise. Connemara ist unfassbar schön und verewigt sich im Herzen des Besuchers. Ist das Klima auch rauh,findet sich auch der Sonnemensch schnell zurecht. Die Menschen sind freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sucht man Ruhe, ist man hier genau richtig. Leben und Trubel finden sich in den liebenswerten Städten Clifden und Galway. Wir waren Neulinge, hatten jedoch keinerlei Schwierigkeiten uns zurecht zu finden. Wir freuen uns einfach auf den nächsten Besuch in Calla, Old School House! Bis dahin, Claudia&Bernd

Beautiful Location!

Views are fantastic. The house is comfortable and neat as a pin. Located across from ocean,but access is down the road. Lake view behind the house is serene, but also have to drive for access. Market and pub a short drive away. Great leaping off point for Connemara activities.

Wonderful stay

We had a great time staying at the Calla School House. It's a very comfortable and spacious home away from home. The views are fantastic; both during the day and during the evening. We were able to relax properly and that is what a holiday is about for us. We walked to Calla beach and visited quite a few other local beaches, rock pooling and we did some great walks. We would love to visit again sometime in the summer; although the weather was actually very good. It did rain, but mostly in the evenings and during the nights. A couple of showers but lots of sunshine as well. Unfortunately, our son left his phone at the house when we left.. However, Gabriele and Klaudia were so good about this. They directly offered to send it back to our home in England. Their communication was excellent throughout. I can recommend Calla School House wholeheartedly!

Comfortable and characterful

Sunrises over a lake, sunsets over the sea, dark quiet nights. Comfortable beds, good heating, well-equipped kitchen (the dishwasher was replaced during our stay). Lovely calm decor, seashore finds everywhere around the place, conservatory and secluded garden out back One quirk to be aware of is that the TV is internet only, no terrestrial or satellite. If you have apps on your phone you can 'mirror' to it, which is what we did; it's not hard to set up, just be prepared. And the plumbing is no flushing of paper, so pretend you're on a holiday in the Mediterranean countries where that is standard, the weather might even oblige! We had some gorgeous days even at the end of September. Communication was great throughout.

Family holiday in Connemara

Great house and location for our family of four (2 teenage boys). The house is gorgeous, best rental we've ever stayed in. It has everything you'll need and is very comfortable. Beautiful beaches all along the nearby coastline. We swam every day, mostly at Calla beach, only 10 minute walk away. Our boys enjoyed using the bicycles to cycle to the shop in nearby Ballyconneely. Highly recommend Keoghs bar/restaurant in Ballyconneely where you will find great food, welcoming staff and a relaxed atmosphere. We fell in love with Connemara and will definitely be back xx ❤️

Superbe séjour !

Une maison adorable, à la propreté irréprochable et une décoration soignée ! Que dire de la vue... magnifique, le coucher de soleil avec vue sur l'Atlantique dans le salon! Les échanges avec les propriétaires avant le séjour permettent d'arriver sereinement et de passer des vacances sans se soucier de rien. L'équipement du gîte est plus que complet, il ne vous manquera de rien! Niveau localisation, c'est l'endroit idéal pour découvrir la région du Connemara, avec en plus un accès à la mer et aux plages à 10 minutes à pieds de la maison, les enfants adorent ils se souviendront longtemps du chemin au "chapeau rouge" pour y aller ;-) Merci, Vielen Dank, Gabriele et Hans

A home away from home

We have been to the old school house before in summer with the family and tried but failed a few other times to book it but missed out. This was our first winter visit. We will be back again.. this is less the formula holiday home that can be rented anywhere, and so mischievous more this is a home for holidays! There is a warmth and generosity to the place that relaxes and comforts you and all that in the most wonderful Connemara. The CD collection is all worth a listen! I will be booking my trip for next winter this week!
