'Kookaburra' at Savannah House

  • Immaculate fully renovated classic Queenslander home, close to the city centre. Recently decorated with a brand new kitchen, bathroom and furnishings with a huge relaxing and entertaining veranda.

    You'll love the classic, cozy feel to the home and the lush tropical gardens, giving the authentic tropical Cairns feel.

    Great little retreat for a group of friends or family holiday.

    The self contained home is freshly renovated, maintaining the classic Queenslander charm. The two levels of this house are separate apartments, with private entrances and no internal linking stairs. This listing is for full access to the top floor and large entertaining balcony

    Both bedrooms are clean and airy with large built in Wardrobes. All Rooms have brand new wall mounted A/C units as well as ceiling fans. essential for the tropical climate we enjoy here.

    A fully equipped kitchen with some basic essentials, condiments, tea and coffee. The bathroom has a hair dryer, extra toilet paper, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. All linen is provide as well as bath towels. There is unlimited Wifi, a large TV and a super comfy lounge area equiped with a plethora of board games at hand.

    The perfect place to relax for your stay in Cairns!

    Full access to the top floor classic Queenslander apartment and huge entertaining veranda. Your home away from home. You have complete privacy at your holiday home, but if you need help with anything during your stay, I am never too far away!

    I live nearby and can be available to help with enquiries and, more often than not, help to plan trips around Australia.

    Your home is located in a quiet street in Westcourt, lined with other classic Queenslander homes. Westcourt is one of Cairns' oldest suburbs, just far enough from the centre for a quiet night sleep but close enough for all the benefits of the city. It is just off the Mulgrave road, the main access route in and out of town.

    You will be 2km from the city centre, 1km for DFO, a large factory shopping outlet with an abundance of shops and a supermarket. There is also a cafe on the corner and a Chinese take away, pub and bottle shop across the street.

    The best way to visit Cairns, in my opinion, is to hire a car. there are so many awesome things to see, just a short drive away. Such as waterfalls, beaches, botanical gardens, the list goes on. At night time, due to the close proximity of the city centre, taxi's are very cheap. Better still, Uber has newly arrived in Cairns and provide a great service...a trip to the city centre is approximately $8.

    We also have an in-house travel agency, Cozie Travel, with local travel experts that have a wealth of experience booking a wide range of tours, both within Cairns and all over Australia.

    We are more than happy to help with booking your trips and assisting with car rentals. We can probably answer any queries you might have in relation to tours and excursions, so do reach out to us - even if it’s just for honest advice!

    No Unregistered Guests: Only registered guests are allowed on the property. No unregistered visitors are permitted inside the property.

    This property has a strict no party, no smoking, and no pet policy. Any breach will result in immediate cancellation or eviction.

    Check-in is from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM via self check-in with a key safe.

    Check-out is before 10:00 AM. Unauthorised late check outs may incur a fee. Please follow the check out instructions sent to you and make sure you are familiar with where to leave your keys.

    Guests may be charged for additional housekeeping if the property requires extra cleaning time.

    Guests will be charged for replacing lost keys or fobs as well as a call out fee, if required.

    Any smoking inside the property will result in charges to have the property professionally deodorised and furniture and carpets steam cleaned.

    Cancellation Policy: Our cancellation policy is firm. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover your trip in case of emergencies, illness, extreme weather, etc. Any refund requests outside of our cancellation policy will be declined. We are happy to provide documentation to your travel insurance company to help expedite your claim.

Nice to relax.

Nice little Queenslander separated into 2 units. We stayed in the top level, big balcony to relax, read and eat.

Wonderful home!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kookaburra. The home was as advertised and we really enjoyed the large private balcony. All amenities were a welcome touch. The location was a quiet neighborhood, but within easy driving distance to town. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a place in Cairns.

Tucked away retreat

My family stayed here while we were in Cairns, and really enjoyed the ability to retreat from the hustle and bustle. The rooms were comfortable and we appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and most of all, the covered patio. For those without a car, Coles is just a 10 minute walk, and the bus stop is very near the home.

Excellent and loved the verandah - couldn’t fault anything other than ideally more detailed info about public transport into Cairns Waking in the recent heat was a real challenge but bus service seemed extremely infrequent Otherwise though loved the property, super clean and relaxing and bird wildlife all around so amazing - thank you

Top floor & top rating!

Tastefully updated top floor of a Queenslander. Good furnishings anddecor, kitchen well fitted out. Washing machine useful to have. Good shower. Comfy beds. Ceiling fans and aircons cooled the house efficiently and kept it cool overnight. Upper floor deck great for breakfasts and watching birds from Red tail black cockatoos to Pied imperial pigeons and Nutmeg mannikins! Great! Secure gates and high fence around property. Parking for 1 vehicle on drive, quiet street ok for on-street parking. We walked in and out of town to esplanade which took 25-30 minutes. Taxi to airport @$30

Lovely renovated and clean property - short drive to amenities.

Very clean and tidy - lovely renovated property for mum, dad and the 2 kids. We needed somewhere close to the squash courts for my daughter's squash tournament. House had everything we needed and communication with owner was excellent. Wasn't too far to walk or very short drive for groceries and other shopping.
