Staying at the escape on Lake was awesome. Very clean, close to everything in Cairns. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Mark was extremely helpful to us booking excursions whenour cellphones couldn't make outbound calls.

Great find
Take no notice of what this place looks like on the outside. Our apartment was perfect for our stay in Cairns. It was well appointed with everything we needed, comfortable and conveniently located near the center of town.

Property access after hours average in wet weather and no lighting. Steps and stairs very steep with high step up made carrying luggage difficult. Very basic inclusions.

Room 3 at the front of Escape on Lake was nice, clean,modern, small but comfortable for 2 adults and we stayed 3 nights. Close to the centre of Cairns it is a quick walk to local eateries and also a 10 minute walk to the waterfront and also where the ferries leave for Green Island and Fitzroy. We were given clean towels each day, nice but would have been happy with one st for 3 days. On the down side it was noisy at night periodically, which disturbed my sleep. The rooms themselves are above a car rental place and are up one set of stairs. There is no parking only street parking which is metered at certain hours.

Great little spot to stay for a couple of days, two streets back from the esplanade. Was clean and tidy, could have had a small frypan for cooking did have a microwave, toaster and a jug. Fry pan would of been handy.

We were looking for a clean, tidy and comfortable room close to the esplanade. We found the property met our requirements and was larger than we thought. The bathroom and shower were very good. The lady that serviced the room was lovely and helpful also.

Very good
Almost everything to recommend about staying here. Very clean and spacious rooms. Quiet and easily accessible. My feedback is to have the number of towels and extra blankets for each guest. A hand towel would have been appreciated and used. Booked 2 rooms. One had AC you could only turn down to 21 degrees but the other room could be set cooler for sleeping. Extra keys are needed when you are a family of adults coming in and out at different times. Great location and responsive hosts. Great value all over.

Convenient for an overnight stay
Room was basic but had all amenities needed for an overnight stay. Shower stall leaked all over the floor which wasn't good as it did not drain away, even overnight.

good location, price was decent considering the stupid premium in Cairns at the moment, a few small things - the office was a walk up the street, there was no conceirge and i was terrified id lose my key and get lcked out on the street, and there was no iron in the room, which i just expected i guess.

When making a booking we do advise all customers there is no front office at the property but we have a front office/tour booking/car hire bookings only two doors down. No need to be terrified of being locked out as we have a 24/hour phone number and the property owner is only 1 minute away. If requested we have irons available to all guests. We are glad you liked the location which is very close to the esplanade and main shopping area. Again thank you for the review.

lovely place to stay
I admit I was a bit hesitant at first as there was no off street parking but I had nothing to worry about. I was welcomed with a friendly smile and they were extremely helpful. The room was so clean and fresh and very well set out. The bathroom was huge and the bed was comfortable . It's so well situated in Cairns and you can easily walk everywhere in the city. . I would have no problem recommending Escape on Lake to anyone

The location was awesome and customer service was outstanding. The only negative was the harsh fluorescent lighting (which i didn't use), a couple more lamps would be much nicer.

Clean, excellent location. A bit hard to find as it has no proper reception, foyer or normal hotel conveniences like swimming pools and bar, however it was a really nice place to stay and quite comfortable and close to anything you need.
