Cahuita Casa Verde
I would highly recommend this location. Annie was a super host and answered all our questions including setting up any tours. The place was clean and well kept. Super close to the beach 2 mins away. Howler monkeys and sloth right in the back yard. I would visit again.

Delightful, relaxing get-away
Spent two weeks at Casa Verde. House with all we needed for cooking, very comfortable bed in main bedroom, comfortable seats outside on the porch on which we spent hours, wi-fi, all we needed for an enjoyable stay. The casa a short three-minute walk to the beach, so great for ocean time. Annie attentive, responsive, knowledgeable if we had questions, and shared information on local events. We. hope to return.

very relaxing vacation
First the hot Anne is wonderful. Any problems we had were quickly resolved. She also was very helpful with tours and taxis. She went beyond expectations. The house is very nice. Upstairs bedroom with AC was very nice for sleeping. The grounds are lush and the patio was a convenient place for breakfast and afternoon snacks. Location is very convenient close to beach and some nice restaurants. We would stay again if we are in the Cahuita area. Highly recommend the Casa Verde.

A true treasure in Cahuita
From the immediate initial contact to instructions beforehand, to several messages during our stay with info on local activities - yoga classes, nightly entertainment, farmer’s market & more. … Annie was the super host! Casa Verde was exactly what we were looking for..quiet & beauty. The home was clean & welcoming. The spacious master bedroom had A/C & a comfortable king bed facing a small balcony overlooking a garden area. We love to cook & this kitchen came well equipped - from a coffee maker, cheese graters, assortment of pots and pans and even a blender. (If you like fresh fresh, there is a great fish market in Puerto Viejo). There are several small grocery stores, bakeries, butcher shop & a Sunday morning farmer’s market in Cahuita . There was no shortage of fabulous places to eat with true Caribbean flavours…pasta, sushi, chicken, fish and some of the best pizza. The outdoor space under a covered patio was our favourite spot to enjoy an early morning coffee while listening to the howler monkeys, and the variety of birds & their songs. We seen toucans, Mealy parrots, hummingbirds, Social Flycatchers, & even one very large iguana..all from our courtyard. Casa Verde is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach where a sunrise can be enjoyed and if lucky enough, find a beautiful sand dollar. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend Casa Verde to anyone wanting a good base while exploring beautiful Cahuita and surrounding areas.

Wonderful
Casa Verde was lovely and Annie was an amazing host. The house was cute and had what we needed, and the grounds were amazing. We saw Monkeys, Sloths, and Toucans almost daily. The property is convenient to restaurants and the downtown of Cahuita is an easy 7 minute walk. Such a wonderful trip, we hope to be back!

Cahuita getaway
We stayed a couple of nights @ casa verde before venturing further south to meet up with the remainder of our group. We loved the atmosphere, tranquility, close proximity to beach and town. Most of all we enjoyed Annie’s hospitality and expertise in what to enjoy nearby. My husband and I were thrilled to enjoy Annie’s place and the surroundings. We definitely enjoyed getting to know Annie and definitely plan on making Costa Rica one of our vacation destinations!

Not enough words
There is so much to say about this wonderful experience . Imagine arriving to your host waiting outside of a beautiful wooden gate lush greens all around The VRBO description does not even do this place justice . super beautiful, comfortable , a screaming monkey family can be heard from the trees, and yes we named them and took photos of not only them but toucans as well, a 2 minute walk to restaurants, watching the ocean as you enjoy a meal , cross the road and a beautiful dark sand beach, with water so warm , it's like taking a bath. . The hostess is one of the warmest persons you will ever meet. We loved it and will definitely return to see Annie and Cahuita!

Wonderful 2 Week Vacation!
Our first ever 2 week vacation was spent here, and we loved it! Annie is the best host. She is also a travel agent and helped us plan some excursions. Although she lives in the apartment/duplex behind the house, she has her own personal entrance to the back yard so you never see or hear her. We loved drinking coffee outside every morning. We loved listening to the waves crash against the shore. We loved walking to the beach to swim every day. We loved how close the restaurants and bars were. We loved walking into Cahuita for shopping and more restaurants. We loved how friendly everyone was. We loved seeing the monkeys, sloths, birds, butterflies, flowers, and trees that were different from our norm. Casa Verde was clean and efficient. The kitchen had a stove/oven but we didn't use it. It had a toaster oven that we used often. It could have used a microwave for ease, but honestly the toaster oven was just fine. The kitchen was stocked with cookware, serving pieces, storage containers, etc. The refrigerator was cold and the freezer had ice trays for ice.. The king sized bed was comfy. The bedroom a/c cooled the room down quickly. Can you tell we loved it here? We will see you again Annie!

Central location in Cahuita, close to the beach
My family and I were happy with our stay at Annie's place during our trip to Cahuita. The house was clean, well-appointed, and only a short walk from the beach. There are many restaurants and bars within 5-10min walk. The AC in the upstairs bedroom was a lifesaver since we're not used to the humidity on the Caribbean coast of CR. The downstairs bedroom has only a fan. If you happen to visit during a local holiday, make sure to pack some earplugs as the house has no window glass, and the downside of the central location is that you can hear all the parties around you.

Amazing stay
Anne’s “Casa Verde” was a perfect home base for an amazing few days on the Caribbean. Close to town, right next to a beach, comfortable accommodations, and beautiful scenery. We saw monkeys daily from the casa. Highly recommend staying here. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

Lovely property and awesome host!
We stayed at Casa Verde for 6 nights. The property is amazing. A close walk to all of Cahuita’s many attractions. The house is exceptionally clean, quiet and relaxing. Annie is a wonderful host. She was extremely responsive and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again!

Pura Vida in Cahuità
We had a lovely stay in Casa Verde. It is situated in a quiet area and close enough to Cahuità center. The beach is just a few steps away! You can also spot many animals from Casa Verde: Tucans, sloths and howler monkeys! Annie was very welcoming and kind and also helped us out along the way. We definitely recommend Casa Verde!

Hidden gem !!!!
The property itself was clean , and comfortable. The owner Annie is beyond helpful . She was always available to assist with any excursions, she even booked an inn in sam Jose for us when our flight got changed. She also booked our car rental. The town or Cahuita ans the people are wonderful. Would definitely return ans highly recommend!

Excellent Retreat to Beach Solitude
Hammocks, the sound of waves, just a couple minutes (literally) from the beach by foot. What more could you want? The host was exceptionally helpful and really made our trip a breeze with recommendations and assistance. Off season was great. Nice weather, no crowds, and everyone was happy to have us around.

The house was great. Check in was easy and we enjoyed the area a lot. So excited to see the AC in the bedroom to cool off.

Awesome getaway location! A must visit
I couldn’t recommend this place enough! Perfectly situated in a quiet beachside town that has plenty of Beach and Nature to enjoy, without use of a car. Each is 150 meters away, multiple restaurants a short 400 - 900 meters away, and National Park just over 1 km. (Or 200 meters after a great breakfast at Soda Kawe). The house itself is beautiful with great use of natural woods, and an outdoor patio that is well worth “the price of admission “. Daily visits from all kinds of wildlife: Agouti (2), poison dart frogs, howler monkeys, an eagle, and a toucan without leaving the patio. There is also a sloth that frequents the trees out back, but we were touring the beaches, town and National Park too long to catch him. Despite other reviews mentioning the house missing items, we found them all there: beach towels, body soaps, wash cloth’s, toilet paper, fans, coffee filters, cooking oils and some spices. There was even bug spray and sunscreen, plus numerous books on the region’s wildlife and birds! Annie was a great host, who also has a travel agency - she helped us arrange for transportation for our entire month.: 4 different transfers at a price better than what I was finding myself. Great place to chill in Caribbean style!

Lovely beach house in tranquil Carribean village
This is a cool, comfortable and simple two bedroom, two bathroom house with a sweet outdoor sitting and hammock area and a decent fully equipped kitchen. Only a minute walk to a soft black sand beach and 10 minute walk to the village of Cahuita with coffee shops and good restaurants. I spent three very enjoyable weeks there, with perfect weather every day (it rained often at night). The owner and manager were instantly responsive and helpful. Cahuita also has a very interesting national park and beautiful beaches all within easy walking distance from the distance. There is some fun night life nearby, but don't expect a party town. Highly recommended.

Wonderful place but!
My wife and I totally enjoyed our stay except for one thing. There were no truly comfortable chairs anywhere in the home. There is plenty of room to put them but they just weren't there. Perhaps this is more of an issue as my wife and I are in our early 70's and mid 70's. Aren't as flexible as we used to be.

Great spot. Close to beach and to town. Good restaurants and a comfortable home. Very friendly town. Should come there anytime except Friday afternoon. Container trucks coming to Limon make traffic a nightmare.

Almost a tree house feel.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Verde. Only a few minutes walk to a nice black sand beach. Walking distance to town with many restaurants and stores. Annie was very helpful, check-in was very easy. The kitchen had all the basics, and the air conditioner in the upstairs bedroom made the room very comfortable for sleeping. Thanks again Annie.

Perfect location, nice patio, big kitchen
This home is perfectly located, just 200m from the beach and a short walk to nice restaurants in Cahuita. I enjoyed cooking in the well appointed kitchen and eating dinner out on the patio. Annie keeps the home spotlessly clean-- with soft towels and nice sheets! I was looking for a place to come home and found it in Annie's space. As well, Annie was very communicative and responsive when I needed small things. I am a single traveler during the time of COVID and appreciate all the details this home offered to make me comfortable.

Real feel.
Annie the owner was (is) Great, we had issues with our email and lost them all and ended up on the West coast 1st, by mistake. Annie was able to move our dates around and help save our trip. The place itself was beautiful and what we would imagine an authentic home here to be like. Very clean, secure and unique and Annie is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Casa Verde is immaculate! Very cozy and romantic.
Casa Verde is the best location in Cahuita for everything you plan on doing - beach is 3 minute walk, surfing lessons are 300 meters north, and then the Reggae Bar and Chao's Restaurant is another 500 meters north of that! If you go south on the beach road, you can walk 5 minutes to be downtown for more restaurants and shopping. Cahuita National Park is just a little further on main street through Cahuita. Absolutely beautiful. Everyone is very friendly and helpful if you are not too familiar with Spanish. Do not worry. They will help you. Annie is very responsive and helpful. Do not hesitate to contact her for anything. We loved our stay at Casa Verde and we are sure you will too!

Best Host you could ever ask for
While we were there I became ill and Annie, the homeowner, went well out of her way to help us out, get us to a medical professional, and to translate for us. She was at the light and made our stay great. The home itself is a fantastic location, you just walked a short distance down the dirt road to the beach. The house is equipped with everything that you need. My favorite spot was in the hammock on the Lanai. We were able to bird-watch right from the Lanai. Sometimes toucan land in the trees right across from the house. Every morning howler monkeys where our alarm. The biggest reason I wanted to go to Costa Rica was to go birding. Cahuita as an excellent place to do so.

Overall a great time at Cahuita
We stayed at Casa Verde recently and we had overall a great time at Cahuita. The house is located on a perpendicular road across the road that goes to the beach. You cannot see the beach from it, but you can hear the ocean, and it is about 1 minute walk from Playa Negra. The condition of the house is very good and clean. But it does not have some of the essentials for cooking that you can find in other places (oil, sugar, coffee, spices, paper towels/napkins…) so be prepared to bring them if you plan on cooking. Also, the bathroom upstairs could use more hardware to hang the towels, there is only one towel rack and is not enough for two people to hang towels so they can dry, which is quite a task with the ambient humidity, plus, bring your own shower gel, because there was none. And, if you plan on going to the beach, bring your own beach towels. The bedroom upstairs is the coolest (temperature-wise) to sleep in but the bed is not firm, the mattress in the downstairs bedroom is firmer, so you can choose what you like. You can just spend the day sitting on the patio and enjoying nature, it is sooo relaxing! You can see the parrots in the morning, hear and see the monkeys jumping in the trees, listen to the ocean in the background and just chill with the house cat, Guinness, who is very, very friendly. The owner, Annie, is very responsive and attentive, she can help not just with the house accommodation but also with transportation and questions about local things to do!

Great Beach House!
We had a fantastic four days at Annie's House in Cahuita in May 2017. My wife and I really enjoyed being able to walk to many great restaurants, bars as well as the national park. Annie lives in the back of the house and was very helpful in recommending some of the better places to visit as well as some great local advice for getting around town. The house itself was very charming and clean and we spent every evening on the patio enjoying the evening thunderstorms. Would definitely stay again, thanks Annie!

“A clean, comfortable, safe and private paradise”
The three of us loved this clean little house that is a very short walk to the beach and town and offered everything we needed. We woke to the sound of the birds and the smell of flowers. Annie was a wonderful host and offered good suggestions for the area. Cahuita is magical and I will return.

One of My most memorable Vacations at Casa Verde
The property was immaculately kept thanks to Sherri our wonderful maid. The gardens make you feel like you are in an oasis. Annie what can I say you made our stay so comfortable and were so very helpful to us. The people of Cahuita left a lasting impression with us . There are so many activities which are only a bus ride away. Also Annie will help you organize any tours or activities you wish to participate in. I recommend Casa Verde without any reservations to anyone wanting to stay on the Caribbean Coast. Thank you for the memories Maria
