The host was friendly ,open and easy to communicate with.She seems like the kind of person you wouldn't mind getting to know. The setting of the house is beautiful!!The house needs some work though.Maybe a new dishwasher, oven,a shower head that doesn't get the floor all wet ...... pretty much like here at home.Even with the rain all week we couldnt help but feel so blessed.

The place was super clean. We loved having access to the lake. I used it to fish the cove a bit. We didn't use the watercraft at all but they were very conveniently located. We really enjoyed the fire pit in the fall weather. The karaoke machine is also a ton of fun!

Nice quiet getaway

Everything was as described. Beautiful views, beautiful house. All of your needs were met and more. We didnt have any issues, but I know if we did, Karen wouldve been rigjt there for us. Those stairs are no joke, though. If youre in shape, you wont have any issues. If youre older and not in shape, those stairs will kick your butt, lol. We very much enjoyed our stay and exploring the area around.
The mercantile is a must.The food and the prices are amazing

Entkomme dem Stress und genieße die Natur pur !

Weil wir aus Deutschland bei unserem roadtrip durch die Blue Ridge Mountains für ein paar Tage an einem See bleiben wollten, hatte ich im Vorfeld lange und intensiv über verschiedene Seen und auch verschiedene Unterkünfte recherchiert. Es war uns wichtig dass wir in einer möglichst naturnahen Umgebung eine Unterkunft finden. Möglichst mit eigenem Dock und Seeufergrundstück.Diese Unterkunft am Watauga Lake entspricht voll und ganz unseren Erwartungen und wir haben jede Minute hier genossen. Es stehen zwei Kajaks und ein größeres Kanu zur Verfügung um den See zu erkunden. Auch ist ein Grill vorhanden und ein schöner lagerfeuerplatz. Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Die Gegend wurde übrigens sehr gut instandgesetzt nach dem Hurrikan Schäden vom September 2024 ist so gut wie nichts mehr erkennbar. Die Menschen hier sind sehr freundlich. Alles in allem danken wir Karen dass wir die Gelegenheit hatten dieses wunderschöne Seehaus für ein paar Tage zu bewohnen.

Restful!

We LOVE this chalet! We have visited here multiple times and always have the most relaxing time. The home is clean and welcoming. The kitchen is well-stocked with most utensils/kitchenware that you would ever need. Finishing the day by the firepit with the peepers and crickets singing is just about perfect! This is a truly wonderful place to rest and recharge! We will be back!

Lake Watauga paradise

First, the host was amazing. Clear driving and check in instructions. Had a few questions and she was very responsive via VRBO messaging and text. It rained the first few days, but we enjoyed the house- reading, playing cards, and enjoying the view. The dock was great for hanging and jumping in the water. Boat launch easy to find and use. Great stay!

Overall our stay was very enjoyable. Maybe time for some spring cleaning and bug extermination. Had several water bugs and spiders inside to which we had a good laugh when a water bug dive-bombed the bed and hit my husband in the head.

Charming getaway with room for improvement

Lovely lakeside cabin with beautiful views and lakeside access. It was hard to find-better directions would help. The beds weren’t very comfortable and the listing mentions a hot tub, but it’s really a jetted tub in the bathroom. Some shoreline litter too. We still enjoyed our stay but guests should know what to expect.

Quiet Remote Stay

Our stay was during the middle of the week and we had the lake to ourselves. The cabin is remote with no major roads or traffic noise, but other cabins nearby. It was a perfect relaxing getaway.

Peace & Quiet Getaway

If you're looking to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, look no further. The Lake Hideaway Chalet is the place to be. A cozy A-frame home nestled in the hillside, secluded from the outside world with a beautiful view of the Watauga Lake. The LHC has all the amenities you need, including kayaks and canoe. An ample deck provides a beautiful spot to gather and enjoy the scenery. Our week stay at the end of February was a wonderful way to rest, relax and recharge.

Wonderful Family Getaway!

We had such a great time! The chalet looks exactly like what you think it will based on the pics. The absolute silence was so relaxing and the trip overall lead to some amazing family memories for the kids. Definately planning a return during the summer months!

Perfect Getaway

I love every second that we stayed here. Everything checks our ideal vacation. Quiet, secluded w/ a beautiful view. Our older dog is non aggressive reactive so every year I try to find us a secluded place where he could enjoy too. This is definitely the top of the most beautiful place we’ve ever stay. Made my birthday/ family trip extra special. Ms Karen was a great host! Will definitely stay here again..
