Des vacances de qualité partagées en famille et entre amis, au calme, en pleine nature.La maison, ses équipements ainsi que la piscine sont très agréables.Il est bien de prévoir de faire des courses avant de s'engager dans la colline. La dernière partie de l'accès à la maison s'effectue par un chemin de terre.Barbara nous a accueilli chaleureusement, elle est disponible et partage de nombreuses informations sur les activités à réaliser.La journée à Florence que l'on peut rejoindre en train depuis Borgo san Lorenzo est un incontournable.

Super weekend stay

Hired this beautiful villa for me and three friends. We attended the MOTO GP at Mugello so we unfortunately didn’t spend lots of time at the villa. However, the house is very comfortable, super swimming pool. The games area was fun.We really liked the upper lounge area with the super comfy lounging sofas and large dining table.Would definitely consider renting this villa again.

Relaxing and charming

Cette maison est un petit paradis

Nous recommandons cette location de vacance. Nous y sommes allés en famille. Elle est idéale pour pour se reposer et visiter tranquillement la Toscane. L’emplacement, la maison, Barbara … tout est parfait pour nous faire passer d’agréables vacances !

The Perfect Getaway

This property is amazing! So quiet and serene away from the city. Visiting Florence is easy and I did it 2 times during my stay. U simply drive down the mountain about 15 min to San Lorenzo and catch 1hr train to Florence. The pool is amazing and the house has so much history. The drive up the mountain is about 15 minutes up some of it is unpaved but it is well WORTH it. Fantastic for families.

A magical escape in the country

Up a mountainside and away from the hustle and bustle of the cities, my family and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this magical place! Set in beautiful country, it is a place of relaxation and of taking the time to slow down and spend good quality time together. The villa is steeped in impressive Italian history, and dates far far back, but also boasts all of the modern comforts of home, providing a unique place to escape. If you are a city mouse with little experience driving in the country, the drive up the hill may be a little daunting, but it is well worth it! Just be aware that it is about 20 mins to get into Borgo San Lorenzo, and then another 40 or so to Firenze. There is a train station with ample parking in Borgo San Lorenzo, so you can head into the city that way and not worry about the car there. The host Barbara is absolutely wonderful; she was incredibly communicative, shared all kinds of information, and was quite understanding when we arrived a bit later than expected. Really, she is a gem of a person and I am so glad to have met her. We also had Raffaele come to make us a fantastic mutli-course dinner at the villa, and he made adjustments to the menu based on my allergies. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer! Truly a wonderful experience if what you are looking for is some beautiful peace.

Prachtige natuur

Mooie omgeving, weg naar huis toe is 2 km lang ‘hobbelen’ over zand en stenen. Barabara is erg aardig, snel en behulpzaam. Natuur om je heen brengt veel ‘beestjes’ met zich mee, daar moet je je op instellen (schorpioenen, duizendpoten, hoornaars). Bij het huis veel ruimte, rust en een prachtig zwembad. De bedden liggen goed, weinig kastruimte (wel hang, maar geen planken). Dit verschilt per kamer. Beneden grote douche, boven erg kleine cabine en/of in een badkuip douchen. Weinig warm water, veel koud douchen. Nu sowieso rustig aan doen met het water wegens de enorme droogte. Mooie steden in de omgeving, stuwmeer, het dorpje is fijn: er zijn 3 grote supermarkten. Houdt altijd rekening met minimaal een uur rijden om van Borgo San Lorenzo heen en terug te komen.

Familieferie

Vi var afsted som familie, 8 voksne og 4 børn på henholdsvis 1, 2, 3 og 6 år. Boligen havde fint plads til os alle med god fordeling af værelserne. Fine omgivelser med flere muligheder for at finde skygge. Poolen blev rengjort dagligt. Vi vender gerne tilbage.

Weekend con gli amici molto rilassante

La casa è bellissima e tenuta benissimo, tutto è andato secondo le aspettative; un po’ difficile da raggiungere per via del tratto sterrato alla fine ma ne vale la pena. Assolutamente consigliato fare la spesa prima di salire su, anche perché in casa - e questo è un peccato - mancano i beni di consumo fondamentali come sapone, zucchero, ecc.

Great location, great host

After an adventurous journey we arrived at night at this unique location up the Monte Giovi. Barbara waited for us and guided us the last kilometers. The house is greatly located, has lot of details. The kids loved the pool, the „chill room in the house“, the Trampolin and the table tennis Place and of course the horses! The parents had various places to relax and to enjoy the great nature. Barbara is a perfect host and is available for all kinds of questions, recommendations and wishes. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxed place, is this place perfect for you, but there are also plenty of activities if you want to. Barbara is a fantastic host. We definitely recommend this place! Grazie mille, Barbara!

Privacy met de familie

Een vakantiewoning voor families of groepen die houden van privacy en rust . Het afgelegen huis in de landelijke omgeving op de heuvel heeft nette kamers, een gerieflijke keuken, en praktische badkamers. We hebben genoten van mooie avonden in de tuin onder de bomen, en de kinderen konden ongestoord en volop stoeien in en rond het schone zwembad. De bijhorende paardenfokkerij was ook leuk voor de kinderen. De verwelkoming en de assistentie van de eigenaars was zeer attent, warm en joviaal. Met de auto is het wel een eindje bergop rijden op een onverharde weg.

Einzigartig und wunderschön

Nach langer Suche habe ich dieses einzigartige Haus gefunden. Im Haus und rundum ist alles mit viel Liebe zum Detail entstanden. Das Haus, das früher mal ein Wachturm war ist bezaubernd, es leben dort sogar Turmfalken. Die Fotos und Beschreibung des Hauses, Ausstattung und Lage sind schon perfekt, aber man sollte es einfach selbst erleben. Wir waren dort zu zehnt, um meinen Geburtstag zu feiern. Am Abend meines Geburtstages hat Raphaele (Barbaras Schwager) für uns gekocht, was ich jedem nur empfehlen kann. Durch das gute Essen und den guten Wein war es ein unvergesslicher Abend. Das Wohn und Esszimmer sind im 1 Stock, durch die großen Fenster hat man das Gefühl in einem Baumhaus zu sitzen. Einfach nur schön. Die Vermieterin Barbara und Ihre Familie sind besondere herzliche Menschen und haben sich rührend um uns gekümmert, um sicher zu gehen, dass es an nichts fehlt. Das Internet funktioniert nicht immer, aber wir haben dann einfach Hotspots benützt. Wir wollen auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und Planen schon unseren nächsten Aufenthalt an diesem wunderbaren Ort. Wir alle waren begeistert Liebe Grüße Valerie P.S. Lasst Euch von Barbara den Standpunkt per Whats App schicken, da es nicht ganz einfach zu finden ist. Tiefgelegene Autos würde ich zu Hause lassen, da der Weg recht holprig ist. 😊

Skønt hus og omgivelser

Fantastisk dejlig ejendom og grund. Helt utrolig sød og imødekommende ejer. Det eneste mindre gode er den lange vej fra byen. Vejene er naturligvis bjergveje, men de sidste 10-15 min kører man på grusvej. Kan sagtens anbefale huset hvis det er ok for en med afstanden.

Peace and beauty

Il Poggiolo provided the background for a wonderful holiday for all of us. There is so much room on the property and inside the house, that we never felt crowded, and although the unmade up road is a little long, once we had got used to doing our food shopping for more than one day at a time, everything was brilliant.

Exactly as promised!

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY. My wife and I rented the property for 2 weeks and invited 3 couples to join us. There was plenty of room, with even a 5th bedroom left vacant. The photographs on the site are accurate and show the property well. We had our breakfasts at the big kitchen table and, when we were home for dinner, ate in the large dining/living room on the second floor at a beautiful table that would have easily sat 10 people. The layout is as follows: on the first floor there are two bedrooms (1 king and one with two twin beds), a nice sitting room and a full bathroom. The second floor has 3 bedrooms (two queens and one other room with two twin beds), a beautiful, well-equipped kitchen, two full bathrooms (I with shower, one with a tub/shower) and a large sitting/dining room with windowed walls on either end. There is a nice dining table outside next to the propane grill, a large hammock and then stairs leading down to a nice pool equipped with plenty of seating options. Raffelele, one of the owners, is both a chef and a wine expert (The house is stocked with a wide range of wines with the price listed on each bottle). We contracted with Raffalele to cater a dinner at the house and it was wonderful. He brought linen and tableware, as well as a series of wines with each of the multiple courses. It was luxurious (dare I say decadent) to be served a perfect 2-3 hour meal in our own "home". I have worked in a variety of restaurants and I have to say that Raffalele's service was a good as any I have had anywhere. The house is located about 20 minutes outside of Borgo San Lorenzo (north of Florence on the A1 Autostrada). Borgo San Lorenzo has a convenient train station with free parking and trains that will get you into Florence quickly and comfortably (we recommend not driving in Florence). There is a also a big supermarket there where we did our shopping. As for other places to visit, Siena and Lucca are each well within two hours by car. We also recommend San Gimignano, Montecatini, Barga. Monteriggioni and Montalcino as wonderful small towns to visit. Barbara Vanucci was our main contact and she was great - she contacted us in advance with directions and useful suggestions and was available at all times for any questions. SMALL CAVEAT - the house is up in the hills and the drive up was a little daunting the first time, but don't lose heart - RENT THIS PROPERTY!!!!!

Lovely and fantastic!

We had a fantastic time staying at Villa Poggiolo and was very well taken care of. I could really recommend to ask to get invited for a grappa/wine tasting at Rafael just a few houses away from the villa - truly a fantastic experience. The only thing to bring with is that it is very high up with very small roads to get there so once you are up at the houce you might not go down to the village that often.

Tolles Haus, nette Vermieterin!! Jederzeit gerne wieder!!

Wir hatten eine tolle entspannte Urlaubswoche fernab von jeglichem Trubel. Bis auf ein paar Ameisen und vielen Stechfliegen konnten wir den Urlaub dennoch in vollen Zügwn genießen. Barbara war sehr hilfsbereit und immer zu erreichen, wenn man sie brauchte. Wir würden jederzeit wieder diese Unterkunft buchen!!

Wunderschönes Ferienhaus mit netter Vermieterin

Wir haben eine wundervolle Woche in diesem schönen, alten Haus verbracht. Der Garten mit Pool ist traumhaft schön, die Umgebung lädt zu vielen Ausflügen ein. Barbara, die Vermieterin, ist unglaublich nett, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Sowohl die vier Erwachsenen als auch die vier Kinder haben sich rundherum wohl gefühlt. Tischtennis, Pool, Garten, Pferde, Hunde und WLAN haben alle zufrieden diese Woche verbringen lassen. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder kommen.
