Our family came up for a quiet weekend of fishing and relaxation and we definitely got that. We brought my parents and in-laws and my sister came to visit from a neighboring home. We made great use of the kitchen and the grill. We loved having coffee out back with the cows coming to say “hello”. We saw deer and even rescued a baby kitten from under the shed. The house was comfortable and had nice homey touches like the sound machines, tvs in every room, and plenty of plugs and outlets. The dock across the street is lovely to sit on in the evenings. My parents found the stairs a little challenging, just watch your step! Some of our favorite restaurants were Cootie Browns and Southern Craft BBQ. We shopped in downtown Elizabethton and Bristol. They have a lot of cute small boutiques and antique shops. We also highly recommend Bristol Caverns. We will definitely come back and hope to stay in this house again! The Rider and Jelinek families

Family Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful time staying here. Had family in from Fl, In, Pa.. Everyone loved the Speedway in Lights and the beautiful scenery. Got some awesome fishing memories with family. The house met all of our needs. No issues, the Host kept us very informed. Would definitely stay here again. Having the two kitchens and two bathrooms really helped. The weather didn’t let us enjoy the two story deck right on the South Houston river.

Great Stay

We throughly enjoyed our stay! Everything is about 20 minutes away no matter which way you take. Lots of beautiful scenery to see so take a different way each time. The property manager was quick to answer questions. The only thing I didn’t like is the beds were not super comfortable. They were decent but with a bad back they were difficult to get comfortable. Everyone was SUPER nice in the area!!! I would 100% recommend this property to anyone! It’s cheap, decent, clean, and quiet! Thank you again so much!!

Great house on the River

This house on the river was perfect for our 3 generations to share for a local wedding. We had 4 kids under 5, 1 teenager, and 4 adults. Everyone enjoyed the property. The house is divided nicely to accommodate multiple family groups. The house was as described and obviously well cared for. The dock was the surprise for us. We knew it was there but not a factor in our choice. It was probably our favorite spot. The railings were great and the gate latches were perfect for us to hang out on the river and let the toddler play around on the upper or lower deck. We even borrowed some fishing poles from our local family to enjoy the river more. We visit the area often and will definitely stay again anytime we need a place to hold a larger group.

Graduation trip

A very nice property. I only had 2 complaints. The stairwell from the lower level to the upper level is very steep, and there is no handrail present. Was exceedingly difficult for the older folks in our group to navigate. Also, the door at the top of the stairs did not have a knob or way to latch the door shut, only a key lock. with no way to secure the door we had to watch the children very closely, so they didn't take a tumble down the stairs. Otherwise, the house was very nice and well equipped. Served our purposes well for the number of people we had on the trip.

Husbands birthday get away

The house is pretty big and has lots of room for multiple guests or families. The location is nice about 25-35 minutes to town either way you go. The dock on the river was probly the best part it’s very relaxing and peaceful. We were hoping to catch some fish but didn’t have any luck. Maybe next time. The hot tub was an added bonus to come in and relax at night before going to bed. There are two kitchens and they’re both fully stocked for cooking. The stairs are pretty steep going downstairs so be careful. We didn’t really have any issues besides the hot tub was a little dirty but the host sent out some one to clean it within the hour of me contacting them. We would definitely stay here again most likely in the warmer months tho. It was still a little too cold to sit out on the dock and enjoy the river in the early mornings and evenings. The only thing I would suggest fixing was the stove top was cracked and the door in the master bedroom that goes outside to the porch it just had a normal door knob on it I’d suggest putting a deadbolt on just for security purposes. We look forward to returning to this probly in the summer.

Lovely area, but House not really suitable for a group of 10

The location is lovely. We had fun trying to fish from the river deck. The house is nice but it doesn’t work well for a large group. There are no good spaces to all be together. There’s one small table in the kitchen with 4 chairs. We ate several meals together so we carried over the folding table from the fishing deck, chairs and crockery up from downstairs, and chairs from the porch. Our improvised long table worked, but it was a tight squeeze. The rural location of the property suggests that guests will want to cook some meals. There were hardly any surfaces for meal prep, and almost no shelf space to store food (apart from the spacious refrigerator). We put boxes of food outside on the porch and hoped there were no scavengers! Waste paper baskets and mirrors would be helpful in all the bedrooms. The bottom step going down to the basement is deeper, and then there is a half step up to the downstairs area. Most of us stumbled on the bottom step and then tripped on the half step up. Thankfully the handrail saved us from falling. One of the twin rooms has no windows or closet and can only be accessed through the open plan double room. It is really an enclosed corridor between the basement room and the garage. It has the drainpipes from the bathroom on the floor above going down the wall, so every time the toilet is flushed or someone takes a shower, the pipes make a terrific racket. A few of the toiletry dispensers in the bathroom were practically empty.

Beautiful location and a great dock on the river to fish or relax.

It was a very clean house in an excellent location. It is just down from a boat slip, if you bring a boat, and the dock on the river is great to relax on or fish off of. We had a great time!

Tucked away quietly

Granted some of the rooms are smaller upstairs, but it is spread out. Downstairs has a wide space, but you're not here to stay inside. They have a nice yard up front with a deck overlooking the river. Also have a beautiful back deck with a private spot, firepit, hot tub, grilling, and a perfect spot for cornhole. A tremendous piece of property for a getaway. All that is missing is a dishwasher, otherwise, it's a perfect place.

Perfect home!!

We stayed at this lovely home during a world series softball tournament which was at Winged deer park. It was close to the home and the men loved the fishing dock. The hot tub was awesome after a long day. Definately would stay again.

Wedding in Bluff City

We were only 7 minutes from the wedding so it was very convenient for driving for both the rehearsal dinner and wedding on Saturday. The wedding cabin was out of refrigerator space so we were able to keep the champagne chilled and ready for the toast. Everyone enjoyed relaxing during our downtime. All the adults had coffee in the morning on the river deck. When the wedding was over we enjoyed the hot tub to soothe our sore feet and compare notes on all the festivities. Everyone slept great!

Great house in a great location

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Had a combo retreat and fishing trip for five men. Rented whole house and it worked out perfectly. Megan was very easy to work with and helpful. House is exactly as advertised. The two tier deck at the rivers edge is incredible. It’s the only house in the area with something like this. Loved being able to walk right down to the river and fly fish in the water as well as spinner fish off the deck. We’re hoping to make this an annual retreat location!

iver view house

I was very pleased with this property. My son was racing at Bristol motor speedway for short track nationals. Very Clean, comfortable. The mattresses were so comfy, pillows too. Had all the amenities we needed. We grilled and did a lot of cooking. Caught some fish, of course they were returned to the river. I would definitely stay here again.
