This was a great place to stay in Bergen! The location was perfect- so close to Nordnes Park and pool, easily walkable to Bryggen, Floibanen, Fisketorget, and everything else we wanted to see. Short bus ride to Ulrikken gondolas and hiking, which was a highlight of the trip for us. Walkable to so many cute cafes and restaurants. The street was picture perfect, like something out of a storybook and we really enjoyed wandering the neighborhood and sitting on the rooftop porch, which had great views. My only complaint was the kitchen. It was VERY hard to figure out the appliances, especially the stove, and there were almost NO pots/pans/cooking utensils to speak of. Restaurants are expensive in Bergen, so we were hoping to cook many of our meals but that was hard with the limited kitchen supplies, which were not in good condition. The oven was very dirty as well. I would recommend the owner leave stove instructions, clean the oven and buy new pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Some helpful things to know about the house ahead of time: the stairs are steep, the floors are uneven (there is a 1-2 inch step from the kitchen to the stairs that wasn't marked and we were tripping over it constantly) and the windows open very wide and aren't safe for toddlers or little kids, who could easily fall out. This is part of the charm in a 100 year old house and it didn't bother us, but would be helpful to know ahead of time if you are traveling with elderly people or young kids.
