"This is a fantastic pub to stay and dine at. 4 nights here with wonderfully comfortable and quiet room. Excellent staff, great evening menu and food. Lovely atmosphere. Amazing walking right from the front door, car did not move for the whole time. The breakfast is the only thing that needs attention… the full English is good quality and well cooked but took 30-40 mins to arrive and on cold plates - easily rectified I hope. "Top quality food. Steak & Ale pie to die for and excellent fish & chips. Great breakfast with quality produce. Brilliant selection of ales. Old fashioned English Inn with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Tidy room with a modern en-suite shower room. Bed not to our liking but that's very much a personal choice. In a very quiet location with no shops nearby but would recommend for an overnight stay."

"What a lovely gem of a place which was so welcoming and provided simply the best breakfast you could wish for. What with their own chicken eggs, sausages and fresh home baked bread, you can't go wrong! Janet is a lovely lady who likes to make you feel very welcome. I will be re visiting for sure"

"Had a great stay atvyhe Hurtwood. Found it by chance. Great village with plenty of walking direct in to the Surrey Hills as directed by the lovely lady who checked us in. Room very comfortable with fresh milk provided. We found the car park easy for a big car, but would not be so easy in season I think. Dinner in the bar was excellent and good portions. Breakfast cooked to order also great. Will go again. Thank you."

"Excellently managed room, secondary glazing so absolutely no noises from the road. Slept very well, but i do think a kingsize bed would fit in the room. It could be a slight squeeze, in the main, very comfortable. Shower room absolutely spotless. Breakfast was super. Nicely cooked full english as well as cereals, fruit, yoghurt etc.., not too much on the plate but enough for a full day ahead. Good selection of teas.. A real find as we enjoyed a christmas ball at Goodwood. If we come over this...

"We loved our stay at Rose and Crown! The staff were so friendly. Our room had so much character, and was bigger than we would have expected. It was quite comfortable and surprisingly quiet (we were there midweek on a slightly rainy day). We also ate at the pub and really enjoyed our meal. We would stay again!"
