A hidden gem. This lovely little cottage is a sanctuary of peace and relaxation. Extraordinary sunsets! Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Easy check in and very gracious and responsive hosts. I will most definitely return!!

Swain lake is a great place to paddle board, swim and kayak. The house had everything we needed. Was comfortable and functional. Easy check in and out.

We had an amazing time! Property was beautiful, secluded and peaceful. I loved that I was able to bring my beagle who I have never seen so happy and in his element. Lake water was warm and fishing was great. I highly recommend if you are looking for a beautiful and peaceful vacation spot.

This place is wonderful - old camps are what I love. the screened in porch was "everything" and was used a lot. The screens are ripped in some places so bugs did come in but I sat on the porch until they came out mid to late at night. T he bunk beds are not useable for adults or even teens. Maybe young children. Ladder is bolted to the center of the beds..so it would be hard to get in and out of the bottom bunk. No real safely rail for the top bunk. My adults kids and grandkids didn't stay over due to that. There is the sleep sofa. Otherwise all of the rooms were nice. Lots of lawn and parking area. Beautiful view!! I loved it!! Communication from the owners was fast and very helpful. Very nice owners!! Also, you feel secluded, yet there is another camp next door.. but there are trees between you and that other camp is set back. The owners also provide pretty much everything ones needs while staying there, other than your food and drinks!

An absolute gem! Peaceful, private, clean little lakeside cottage. Comfortable bed, ample kitchen and large screened porch to enjoy the call of loons. Spectacular lake view. Sunsets are postcard worthy! Owners are very responsive. I had a glorious week here and have already booked 2 more. Cannot wait to return!!

Peaceful vacation

The property is very comfortable and what you would expect from an older cottage. advertised as pet friendly and you will notice they have been present. beautiful front porch but dog hair under table. property is beautiful and very private, we enjoyed our fires at night. Dont leave any thing edible on the porch at night, we did have visitors that enter through the screens. Kitchen is well stocked with anything you will need. We enjoyed our 7 days and will miss the loons, deer and turkeys.

Good

The house is how it is described. Very basic. Was not a fan of the bunk beds because if you do not have children with you then its a waste of a room. They are built too close to each other and the ladder is right in the middle so really no room around it. The porch was the best part and where we spent most of our time there. Definitely a summer home with the lake being a stones throw from the house. The grass was way too long and definitely needed to be cut also a ton of geese poop. Other than that it is a good stay if you are not going to spend most of your days inside.

As advertised

The description of the cottage and its location is pretty much exactly the way that the listing said. The dock was not in, however. That was not a problem for me and it may have been for someone who was bringing a boat. This is nothing that the owner can control but you might want to check the water quality of the lake before you go. It occasionally has cynobacteria blooms.

Pulling up it was beautiful. There was a ton of duck/goose poop which we cleaned so the kids were not stepping in it and bringing it indoors. Also was woken up at 7 am to them putting a roof on the house next door. That continued until about 4:30 pm. Luckily it was completed the same day.

Beautiful getaway with family

Our second vacation there- A beautiful and private location- wonderful for my family and pups who need this getaway from hustle and bustle. We fished, grilled and enjoyed the scenic views, while also enjoying card games, corn hole, relaxing time, and swimming! We are hoping to come back before August next summer, 2024. Thank you!

A place that vacation goes by slowly

And thats a good thing. I have now stayed at this location 3 times so i knew what to expect. Quiet relaxing and secluded. Just what i want after a long stressful year. I know it is a no thrills house and ok with that. Only issue was there was minor ant issue and we got spray and that helped with that. Only thing my fiancee wanted to mention. Need bigger TV. It rained first couple of days. The fishing and lake are amazing. Sunsets and nature always amazing Thanks for an amazing vacation. We will be back

Rustic cabin

This home is very basic, no frills. The beds and couch were comfortable. What you get is property location with up close lake views surrounded by woods made that made it feel like we were secluded. This property is breathtakingly beautiful.

A week at the lake...

Last week was my 3rd stay at the cottage. Unfortunately the weather was not the best . I did, however, manage to get a good kayak paddle in every day. The location of the cottage is perfect-private, expansive water frontage, south, south-west exposure, easy distance to shopping etc.

Quiet & Relaxing

We were there the week of Labor Day….families enjoying the holiday, but rest of week was quiet & relaxing. Fishing was great…large & smallmouth bass, pickerel, etc. Appliances clean & working. Master bed was comfortable. Swivel wicker chairs on porch could use an upgrade as well as the cushions on living room chairs. They are not deal breakers. However those were suggestions as the cottage was perfect for our stay. The screened in porch is the “go to” spot…beautiful Paneramic view of lake and no bugs to deal with! The owners also allowed us to bring our boat and tie up to the dock. Perfect! Lee and Lynne
