What a great place to stay! The whole family enjoyed fishing, kayaking, fishing and we even caught a few crab. The crab boil setup was great for our group. Thanks Morgan- we will be back.

Awesome resources to maximize your ability to enjoy the stay. This is a fisherman’s paradise. We caught lots of fish and crabs off the dock, and had a great fishing charter that Morgan helped arrange (pickup, drop off and fish cleaning at the dock!). Jan’s local restaurant cooked up some of our fresh fish and did an amazing job. Will be back for sure!

For our stay, we rented both floors of the property! When we got there, the door allowing access between the floors was locked. After a text to Morgan, the issue was quickly resolved!When we had some of our crew wanting to show up a night earlier than our originally booked stay, Morgan was quick to help me and get it taken care of!We love this location and will definitely be back next year!

We had a fantastic stay! Our family truly enjoyed every part of the experience—from fishing and kayaking right off the property to catching crabs for an unforgettable crab boil dinner. The home was comfortable and perfectly located for exploring the local area. We spent our days relaxing outdoors and making great memories together. This is a great place to stay—peaceful, well-equipped, and family-friendly. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Exactly what we wanted

This is a really good place to stay, you do have to share the dock and patio with other people but we enjoyed both families that were there at the same time and they were nice enough to give us some fishing pointers for the area. Comfy beds, clean, maybe could use some more kitchen tools, plenty of dishes. We really enjoyed being close enough and far enough from New Orleans. Easy trip to New Orleans. We caught fish and grilled them right there. Great escape from a the Midwest. It was nice and warm. The nicest people live in barataria! If you attract mosquitos like I do BRING BUG SPRAY. Even in the winter. Thanks for the great house!

Fun on the bayou!

Morgan’s place is just beautiful with gorgeous access and views on the water. We saw many birds and even caught blue crabs. There was plenty of space available. The kitchen was well equipped. Boiling pots were provided for the crab boil. Everything was very clean and comfortable!

Just the right amount of NOLA

This was a great place for a family who doesn't LOVE being in the center of big cities but still wants to experience the culture. We were able to drive in on a couple days, experience New Orleans and enjoy the rest of our time without all the Hustle and Bustle. It was great waking up to the beautiful sunrise over the water and watching the sunset on the other side of the house over the bayou. We really enjoyed the fishing charter that we booked at the last minute with Big Dog Charters just a few docks down. Thank you Morgan for connecting use! Although we discovered that we are not fans of New Orleans, we loved our stay here and the memories we made.

Bayou beauty

We had a great weekend at Bayou Life. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Had multiple choices for views, fishing/crabbing and hanging out. Everything we could want for a fun, relaxing weekend.

The property and its location was perfect for our interest

Our primary interest was to tour the historical sites, museums, and other prominent locations in New Orleans. We also wanted to stay at a location outside of New Orleans and experience bayou living and viewing the activity on the waterway. This property served all our interest. Well satisfied!
