Home was clean and well appointed! Grounds were well kept and the river access was good. Great place for kids and pets since water is shallow. Hill is steep getting to and from the water so older folks may have trouble.

Beautiful Hill Country Getaway

La Hacienda Rio is a beautiful property and we absolutely loved our stay. The house itself is gorgeous, comfortable, very clean, and had everything we needed. The porch was spacious and had lovely views. The host was fast and easy to communicate with. The river was just a short walk from the home, which was fun to explore, and shallow enough for kids to walk in. The house is in a quiet area outside the city and really felt like the Texas Hill Country. It was a restful stay and we would visit again. Highly recommended.

La Hacienda

What a beautiful place. The outdoor view overlooking the Medina River is breathtaking. You can walk right down and play in the river. The house was clean and decorated cute. The beds were very comfortable. The host were so kind and easy to talk to. We look forward to returning.

Relaxing gem near the river

My wife, a couple friends and I travel around participating in Spartan Races. Of all the places we have stayed, this has to be one of the best VRBOs we have stayed in. The property is well kept, the view of the river from the back porch is amazing, and communication with the owner was great. If we run this race again next year, we will definitely try and book this property.

Golf Getaway

Wonderful! Owners went above and beyond!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed and more. The owners really want you to have the best time. They had big jugs of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in both showers and hand soaps at all sinks which I love. Who wants to travel with all that? The kitchen also had things like paper towels, trash bags, plastic wrap, Keurig coffee pods, etc. It wasn’t like most rental houses where you show up and realize you forgot to bring basic stuff you use in the kitchen. They seem to have thought of everything for you! They even have a surprise snack and drink for you upon arrival. We felt spoiled! They also provided deer corn that you can throw out and several deer will come up close to eat it. So fun for my 5 year old! We only used the master room and the king size bed was very comfortable- supportive/firm but comfy. The river was very calm, shallow and relaxing. Definitely bring your water shoes so that you can comfortably walk up the river to explore. We would gladly stay here again!

Happy times and a Wonderful place to stay!!

This property is beautiful with amazing views. The back porch was a nice quiet place to sit and drink coffee and watch the wildlife in the morning. Our hosts were very responsive to our needs. The river park right down the road has deep pools of water for paddle boarding, floating etc and was secluded. You will not go wrong staying at the La Hacienda Rio. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much Laura and Perry for sharing your VRBO with our family. We will never forget our visit there!!!

Beautiful retreat in Hill Country

We really enjoyed our stay at La Hacienda Rio. The house and property are so beautiful and it is a great area to explore. It’s also close enough within an hour drive from San Antonio and other Hill Country towns to see other places in the area. The house is clean and welcoming and Laura and Perry were great hosts.

River Oasis

Laura and Perry are wonderful hosts and took good care of us during our stay. Lovely home located just off a peaceful view of the Medina river, a piece of river paradise. My wife and I enjoyed our stay tremendously, just lounging on the back porch in the shade (back porch is also perfect for sunset viewing), taking in the river from different vantage points on the property, and exploring the river itself. On a cloudless night star gazing was spectacular. Seeing different types of wildlife on the property was exciting too (various birds, deer, turkey, etc.). I would highly recommend staying at this property. We hope to come back many more times in the future.

Creek House

La Hacienda Rio was exactly as listed. The house is very nice with a great view of Pipe Creek and surrounding hillsides. Easy access to creek and plenty of deer around the property. This house is amazing, the river runs behind the property we did a bit of expiring. There are numerous deer on the property. House is very nice. Clean beautiful and very cozy. The owners are very responsive and helpful. We will definitely return.

Fantastic place!

Us and our friends were looking for a weekend getaway, and this place was perfect! The location is great, right on the river (although unfortunately for us, the water by the house was extremely low, but a quick trip down the road to the park and the water was better), and Bandera is a short drive away and offers some great places to eat and shop. Would highly recommend this place, the house is amazing and very clean and the hosts were very easy to communicate with during the entire process.

Perfect get away

Quiet, fun, allot of wildlife and a nicely equipped home!

Feeding deer along with watching the ducks! Sitting in the cool water of the Medina river. All the extra touches snacks on our arrival with wine! Great place for relaxation. Thanks again!

Hill Country Sanctuary

La Hacienda Rio is one of my favorite river retreats and the most relaxing place that we’ve stayed in the Texas Hill Country. Located on the Medina River, the house is a newly constructed and rests on 2 acres of land with 150 feet of riverfront views. The structure is a one-story, but the property is set on three levels. Down from the house is an outdoor sitting area with a table and chairs and fire pit . It affords outstanding direct views of the crystal clear Medina. Walk down a bit further to the river’s edge. There is seating there as well. Sitting on the back deck you can enjoy the beautiful hill country in the distance. There are no other homes within view of the deck There is a home next door, but the deck and the yard are completely private. When we arrived at dusk we were greeted by deer. The host left corn to feed them. Plenty of birds sing into the night, and ducks and egrets can be seen on the river. The house is a beautifully appointed open concept design with concrete floors the color of the surrounding canyons. It is comfortably furnished with a rustic Texas twist. There is an indoor fireplace with logs provided. The beds are large and cozy and the master bedroom has nice river views. Our host left snacks, wine and breakfast bars.She even left a lovely hand painted post card of the river.All of our needs were met, including a fully equipped kitchen. It is truly a spectacular Hill Country experience!
