Everything about this place was wonderful for us! We were there to see the Kinzua Bridge, Elk spotting and star gazing and this location was spot on. The amenities of the property made the vacation better than we imagined. The open field was huge bonus, beautifully surrounded with the fall foliage and stunning at night! Thank you to our host Chris for the timely responses, we had a perfect 4 day adventure!

Cabin was ok. It was clean enough that I didnt feel grossed out, but not perfect. I'm picky when it comes to stuff like that so my opinion is probably a little more critical than the average person. The host Chris wasn't the quickest to respond back to me.I only reached out twice. Once to inform him of an issue that we found when we first arrived and the second to inquire of what he expected for checkout since he did not send anything ahead of time.He did eventually respond but took him awhile. The hot tub was amazing and very clean and the property was gorgeous.We really didn't have to leave at all.. we had everything we needed right there. Beautiful scenery, unmatched star gazing, hiking trail, fire pit,games and entertainment. All in all it was a relaxing place to spend a weekend away to unwind with the family and being able to bring our dog was a huge plus.

This is what I call getting away. My family had a great week from early morning hot tub soaks to family feuds over playing Uno and Monopoly! We only got one clear night in the star gazing field and the moon was a bit to bright but it was still beautiful. The property is clean and well stocked with just about everything you could need! We will definitely be back!

Perfect get-away cabin

What a gem! The house is extremely well kept, clean, and full of activities. There's board games, books, and a whole astronomy section, including binoculars!We were here for a quick getaway, with hopes of seeing the planetary parade from the stargazing field. We got lucky, and Mother Nature cleared the skies for a few hours. Absolutely amazing!The host, Chris, was friendly and full of great advice. This was our first VRBO experience: it won't be our last. Thanks so much!

Perfect peaceful getaway

This is a very private property with lovely, cozy accommodations. Even though the super moon made Star-gazing less than ideal, we could not have had a better long weekend in this wonderful place. Chris was a wonderful host - excellent communications and check in was seamless. We had everything needed to cook and the beds were super comfy. And the hot tub!!! Awesome! Thank you for sharing your incredible property with us; it brought us a lot of happiness!

What a beautiful place!

The house is awesome, with so many nice little homey touches like the coffee bar, that made us feel really welcome. We loved stargazing in the field and hiking the trails on the property. We were there for our anniversary and I wish we could have stayed longer, but it was the perfect place for us to get away from everything. Chris was really super helpful with his communication. I hope we can come back soon!

Host is awesome

This is the second property I have stayed at that Chris hosts. He is a great host and the properties are amazing. If you want to find a place to stay and just relax and enjoy the beautiful dark skies his properties are fantastic. They are also close enough to enjoy what Potter County has to offer in the form of outdoor recreation. Looking forward to returning to the area.

A great place to unwind

My family and I had a weekend getaway here. We enjoyed the house, the board games, and exploring the property. If you’re in need of some relaxation and quiet this is a great place to do it. The driveway is very long, just keep going, you’ll get there. The Austin dam is minutes down the road, the Potter County Pub is 10 minute drive and a great place for food and drinks.

Family August Vacation, August 2023

We had an awesome vacation, and made wonderful family memories! Chris, our host, was amazing. On our arrival, we got lost finding the lodge, and Chris was quick to answer our phone call and make sure we arrived safely. The lodge was just as described, and you could tell the owners added the right touches to make for a great stay. Unfortunately, we didn't have the best weather, but we were able to see the starry skies one evening, and it was stunning! The viewing area is well maintained with lots of space. During the day, we went fishing and hiking. I highly recommend the covered wagon tour in Wellsboro, about 45 mins away. So much fun! We will definitely visit again! (5) Stars!! The Cardon Family

Beautiful cabin

We loved this cabin. It was a rainy weekend but there were so many things to discover in the cabin! We played board games and foosball. Then we took a quick hour drive to Benezette to see elk. The kids couldn’t wait to get back to the cabin. Thanks Chris

This was the escape we needed

The wife and I loved the firepit and star field. The sky was gorgeous and we saw a good number of meteors. The cabin itself is also beautiful. There were a few stray dog-hairs here and there on some blankets, but the place was very clean and did not smell like animals at all. They do not provide firewood, but you can buy some from stands along the road not too far from the cabin. Zero regrets about staying here.

We love Blue Sky Lodge!

We've stayed in a lot of VRBO rentals and Blue Sky Lodge is one of the best! The setting is very quiet and secluded and you won't hear or see another human while you're there. The stone driveway is steep but manageable. The cabin was clean and comfortable and we love the porch and outdoor areas. We spent a lot of time at the firepit and the dogs loved to run around and smell the wildlife in the stargazing field. There was a steady stream of deer past the cabin all weekend and we also saw turkeys and a young fox while walking the trails. As secluded as it feels, it's only 7 minutes to Austin if you need basic supplies or 15 minutes to Coudersport. Highly recommended!

A gorgeous, secluded woodland paradise!

We booked this cabin for three people to have a birthday celebration, and it was even better than expected! It is a beautiful property, so carefully curated for a comfortable/fun stay. Some things I considered when looking for a place to stay and my experience with them: General comfort level - 10/10!! The couch/chairs are very cozy, there's a huge selection of blankets, the beds are SO comfortable, and they provide plenty of towels. The hot water never ran out and there was great water pressure. Entertainment - Very fast WiFi, it worked great! The TV worked perfectly and had an hdmi cable, and the bar area was full of games. Some really cool games too! Privacy - again, 10/10! You can't see another house from the cabin or from the firepit - so if you're looking to get away from crowds this place is amazing. The viewing field is better than pictures can show! They also provide plenty of things to cook with (extras like a waffle maker, crock pot, blender, ice trays!) so that you can hunker down and be self sustaining. Such a huge plus! Star viewing - I sadly cannot comment on this because our stay was overcast the whole time, but I have every reason to think it would have been incredible. Before the trip I thought if I didn't get to see the stars I would feel the trip wasn't worth it, but the beauty of the surrounding area and the perfect setup of the cabin proved me wrong and I still had one of the best weekends of my life. I obviously 100% recommend staying here, I don't know anything they could do better or provide that they don't!
