The apartment building itself was deplorable. Her unit was just as disappointing, so much so that I refused to spend even one of the three nights I had reserved and paid for. I immediately contacted the host and VBRO, stating that I felt unsafe and unclean. The apartment had a horrible, stale, old smell from the kitchen to the bathroom. I refused to touch anything. The host offered me an alternate unit that she owns, but given the condition and misrepresentation of this unit, I declined. I was visiting Austin for business reasons and opted for what I thought would be an inexpensive, clean, and quiet alternative to a local hotel in South Austin. The place is not what you see in the pictures. There was rust in the bathroom faucet, and the entire place made me sick to my stomach. I forfeited my funds for safety and comfort at a local new 3-star hotel. Please carefully consider before you reserve this place!
