Two things to know before anything else. First, access: the lift in Hobson Quay serves the building to the floor below the penthouse, and one flight of stairs is required to reach the top floor. Once inside, the apartment itself spans two levels connected by an internal staircase. This is a well-maintained, characterful configuration that guests who have stayed consistently find entirely worthwhile — but guests with mobility requirements should be aware before booking. Second, the views: from the top floor of Hobson Quay, the city and Viaduct Harbour open up in a way that a lower floor simply cannot offer, and the balcony gives you that outlook in its full form.

The apartment is generously proportioned across both levels and guests consistently single out the spaciousness as one of its standout qualities. The upper level has the king master bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom and direct balcony access, alongside the second bedroom with a comfortable queen bed served by a well-appointed shared bathroom. The lower level has the third bedroom with twin beds and its own private ensuite, alongside the open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area.

Hobson Quay sits right on the Auckland waterfront, connecting the Viaduct Harbour precinct to the Ferry Building and the wider central waterfront. From the penthouse balcony, the Viaduct Harbour`s restaurant and bar strip stretches out below — Baduzzi, Hello Beasty, Giraffe, and the full sweep of the waterfront dining scene are all within comfortable walking distance. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is a short walk for Waiheke Island and Hauraki Gulf services.

Commercial Bay`s flagship retail and dining complex and Britomart`s cobblestoned laneways are within easy reach. The Viaduct Harbour and Wynyard Quarter`s North Wharf dining precinct are both close, as is the New Zealand Maritime Museum and Spark Arena for events. The Sky Tower and SkyCity are a short walk, and the CBD`s Queen Street shopping and Aotea Square are equally accessible. This is one of the most genuinely central and walkable addresses in the city.

Auckland is easily explored on foot from Hobson Quay — the location highlight from guests reflects a genuinely exceptional waterfront position. Britomart Transport Centre is a comfortable walk with full train network connections. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is nearby. Free secure parking is included for guests arriving by car. Auckland Airport is approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car.

To ensure a smooth arrival, we ask all guests to complete a short online pre-check-in form and upload a valid government-issued photo ID before arriving — this takes just a couple of minutes.

This is a non-smoking, no-vaping property throughout — including balconies and all common areas. No parties or events. Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and checkout is by 10:00 AM.

Please note: the lift serves to one floor below the penthouse — one flight of stairs is required to reach the top floor. The apartment then spans two levels connected by internal stairs. The staircase is well-maintained, but guests with mobility requirements or a preference for full lift access throughout should be aware of this before booking. We are happy to suggest alternatives from our portfolio if needed.

Smoking, vaping, or drug use is not permitted inside the suite or anywhere in the apartment, building, complex or balcony.

In the rare case of a noise complaint or evidence of smoking, an additional fee of up to NZD $500 may apply.

Check in available after 3pm through lock box key collection. Lock boxes are located a short distance away, full details will be sent prior to arrival. We advise collecting the keys on your way to the apartment, if coming to the city via taxi or UBER, ask the taxi to wait a second while you collect the key. The walk to the apartment from the lock box is not far, but no one wants to walk in the city with suitcases!
