Location was fantastic. There was plenty of room for our family get together. The hosts are pet friendly. The kitchen is big and can accommodate a large family. There are full bathrooms upstairs and in the basement. Best of all there were two large dining tables which made Thanksgiving dinner a special occasion.

Not what we were expecting...not good.

The size of the property was great considering we had 20 members of family. However nothing besides the size was that great. Kitchen was decently stocked with items but the handles on drawers were fallen off on some. They only had 1 can for recycle and about 8 cans for garbage, which didnt work out well considering we needed more than 1 for recycle. Parking was crap! We had 4 vehicles and the garage held 1 car. The rest were on street parking and wherever you could find a spot. We had 2 passes that gave us the ability to park closer and not in the "free parking" area which was nice, but that parking was only 3 blocks and filled up fast. The free parking was starting about 8 blocks away and went for a good 10 blocks. We were always parking far. The grill wasn't cleaned when we got there, and we spent a solid hour cleaning it before use, and that was one of the requests to make sure was clean before we left, so it was odd how dirty it actually was. None of the outdoor furniture have seat pads/cushions. The patio space off the master bedroom was not good at all, you could feel the sunken holes as you were walking on it, so I would steer clear of that. There is a piece of plywood on the ceiling in the living room, which is directly below one of the bathrooms so im assuming there was water damage before and hasnt been fully taken care of. Theres a sign in that bathroom to leave the curtain inside the bathtub or there will be issues. Everything was dirty.

It’s a beautiful old beach house that worked great for our large group! We cooked two dinners in the large kitchen for about 19 people and it had all the supplies we needed!

Property not as pictured

The home was not as pictured and described on the VRBO site. There was damage to areas that were truly safety issues. We lost 3 full days of vacation managing the handyman who tried to address the most serious issues. House lists "air conditioning" but two rooms on the 3rd floor had none.We understand that this is a rental property, however the conditions we found in the house were much worse than normal wear and tear, reflecting apparent neglect of any regular maintenance of the property. We would not recommend this property. And we are extremely disappointed in VRBO that this property is listed on their site.

Vacation with our oldest friends

We are a large group of 60-year-olds who have been close friends since we were in middle school. We’ve started gathering every Memorial Day weekend, looking for vacation rentals that can accommodate 14 people. The location here was amazing, the costs were very reasonable, and the gathering areas were plentiful. We cooked many meals, talked, explored the beach and boardwalk, talked some more, did jigsaw puzzles, and talked. A perfect weekend. Thanks so much for sharing your home!

Do NOT stay here!

The entry door is old and rusty. The house smelled disgusting and we had to leave the windows open to air out the unpleasant odor. A rag was laying in the middle of living room. The dining area rug was torn and folded upward with lose strings causing several ppl to trip during their stay. The dining chairs are pictured as red leather but had blue chair covers over them because they were in terrible condition. In the common area, chairs were broken, coffee table leaned against a beam to stand, gaming cabinet door would not close, kitchen drawers were missing, pots, pans and utensils were dirty and we had to buy our own soap and sponges. The ceiling leaked and ruined our backdrop and photo props.The ground floor, is more like a basement, the ceilings were no more than 6 ft high. With ceilings so low, and the bed on the floor (not as pictured) these rooms could not be occupied, displacing the seniors. In the connecting rooms, the beds were unleveled (not as pictured) and pipes coming from the ceiling. The temperature was extremely cold throughout the house but unbearable on the lower level andcontacted the number to adjust the heat but no change was made. Wet towels were left in the laundry.Beds were poorly made, sunken in, found hair in 1, blood-like stains in another, the beds are located near drafty windows, and cracks in the wall of every poorly painted bedroom. Very little effort was put into the cleanliness and maintenance of this home. Absolutely disgusting!

Communication issues

Prior to checking in I spoke with Rebecca she was very informative. However I reached out several times during my stay and never received any response. The home was extremely cold. We made the best of it. Also I would like to add the home was very clean and all the essentials we needed. Pictures don’t do this place and justice it’s beautiful. And parking was a nightmare

The property was two houses from the boardwalk and Atlantic Ocean. The property meet all the needs of our visit for a family wedding. We highly recommend the location and management.

Excellent Beach front stay

Very nice house right at the beach. House needs a bit of upgrade and parking is an issue if you have more cars but overall a very nice stay. We were a large group and we enjoyed our stay here. Owner/Manager are very responsive and provided all the information in detail.

Huge house steps from the boardwalk

14 Adults and 3 little kids stayed here for 4 days to celebrate Thanksgiving. The house has 11 bedrooms and plenty of living space, as described on the site. We could spread out or stay as close to each other as we wanted. There is lots of storage/garage space, a huge dining room table, big kitchen , big living room, plenty of TV sets, a sun room, a front porch, a small deck with table and chairs, and more than enough dishware, kitchen supplies, etc. We were just steps away from the boardwalk and beach. The hosts were very accessible and accommodating. The laundry room had 2 washers and 3 dryers and a second refrigerator. The pool/ping pong table was very nice but is not in the best condition. As with any rental there were some quirks that are good to know about ahead of time. Two of the bedrooms are accessible only thru other bedrooms and one is very small. Both setups would be good for parents of young children, but not couples or teenagers, Two rooms had beds with mattresses that were sagging. Not all the bedrooms have closets. There is room for 1 car in the garage and there are 2 parking passes for the street which was not a problem this time of year. Some people indicated they had trouble getting Wi-Fi connection on the top bedroom floor. Overall the furniture/furnishings are good but definitely showing their age- a bit worn and well used. It was a really good place for a large family gathering. The location is wonderful.
