Family vacation

House was big with plenty of room for everybody and beautiful! I wouldn’t stay here again tho. House has not been maintained. The glasses in the cabinet were dusty and smudged from not being used. The cookware was scratched, rusted, or the Teflon was peeling off. There must have been a breaker off in the kitchen on one whole wall that had the microwave the light over the sink and some receptaclesthat did not work. The Jacuzzi stopper was broken and the kids wanted to use it. We did buy a standard plug at Walmart. One bedroom had dirty sheets and the other was missing a sheet. There were no extra linen blankets or pillows in the house. I did report all these things and housekeeping came by the same day and took care of the dirty and missing linen.At one point, I was told I could wash the sheets myself. The maintenance man never did come to fix the receptacles or the microwave.The living room furniture was so dirty and stained, We hated to sit on it.It’s sad this beautiful home has not been cared for.

Ample Space

Our family of 8 stayed in this home. Despite a negative review we read, we found the dishes were all clean, cabinets and hardware were fine. However, we also noticed lukewarm water in the upstairs. We didn’t have the same issue with the main floor or basement. One of the things we found odd is that the pillows on the second floor were not covered with pillowcases but rather the pillow shams. We had to contact the house manager to explain to us how to access the downstairs bedrooms. There were no instructions in the house or in the email. There were several lightbulbs out, remote controls were missing, had missing or had dead batteries. The request to not flush toilet paper was very odd. While we tried to be cognizant, only lightly used toilet paper could/should be put in a garbage. We were disappointed to arrive in 94° temps and find the pool, which was a reason we booked this house, was closed for the season. The house description did not note the pool is seasonal and closed by Aug. 18. Coming from New York we wouldn’t have suspected that. On a positive note, we had plenty of sleeping space, the dining room was perfect for our family and the couches (although slightly stained) were comfortable. We went to Six Flags and it was only 40 min away.

So many problems

Cabinets where so messy with dirty dishes and silverware in them, knobs were missing on cabinets with the screws sticking out and my wife scratched herself on one of them, very dangerous. Half the light bulbs were out. Made it very dark. Some of the blinds turn rods were missing so couldn’t open the blinds. We found dirty dishes under one of the beds. Why are we paying a cleaning fee when the place was dirty when we got there? There was a hole in the hard wood floor on the main floor. Could get splinters if you walked around barefoot. If you had small children, it would be dangerous. Wifi did not work so the tv did not work since they were internet based. Wasn’t told ahead of time. No hot water upstairs showers at all. No water on the cold side in the master bathroom sink. The trash can outside was overflowing. We had to put our trash on the ground it was so full. The night we checked in we tried to call the contact number about the wifi and no response all night. It was a weekend. Had to call Evolve, the management company, who did answer, then put me on hold for 17 mins while they tried to contact the local agent, with no luck.
