Great home in an awesome setting

We had a great time. Amazing views, sunsets, hiking trails nearby. Far enough away but still close enough to town, restaurants, etc. House is well equipped.

Beautiful sunlit views of the mountains.

Skytop Chalet attracted me to rent due to the bed set-up, ample social spaces, inside entertainment options and outside hot tub and gas firepit. The sunrise and sunset views are quite amazing with the round design of the home. House rules were easy to understand and I’m grateful my son was willing to drive the trash to the offsite location (town of Black Mountain) on a Sunday morning. No one complained about the mattresses. Our main king mattress was in good condition. It’s seems the owners care for this rental and the little touches of home and seasonal decor are very appreciated! Some items in the home are ready to be replaced, yet we were not at a loss from the condition of the items. Example: the Keurig water tank was cracked and can’t hold water. I bring my own to any rental we enjoy as coffee is SO important! At this beautiful chalet we chose to wrap-up in a soft blanket with a good book and also geared-up for a nearby hike.

WOW Experience

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Skytop Chalet. The house was amazing and had plenty of room for all. The game room and extra space in the basement was very well appointed. The views and the deck space outside were such a positive. The neighborhood is very close to Black Mountain and about 30 minutes or so from Asheville. Overall, we would definitely stay in the home again and can’t wait for our next stay!!

Great stay!

Enjoyed time in the mountains with friends. Strongly recommend. Greybeard rentals was very efficient in getting us all info we needed for check-in/check-out and a relaxing stay.

Great place to gather for a very cold Christmas- good cooking kitchen, lots of space to spread out, beautifully decorated for Christmas/ hot tub a plus!!Near so many activities! Would come back in fall!!

As good as it gets for a family Mountain getaway.

Awesome house in a gated Mountain development with stunning views. Perfectly set up for larger families with seating areas on every floor and a well stocked game room on the first floor. Only a 20 minute drive to Asheville and major breweries which is perfect for being close to everything while also being secluded. A few cons because nothing is ever truly perfect. The garbage policy is a little fuzzy and a pain to haul down the road especially if you don't have a pickup truck. And being the couple that slept in the first floor King I'd recommend replacing the mattress in that room.

Wow, great house!

We have a group of 4 couples that pick a new destination every year. This house, is by far, the best location and coolest property we have rented. The layout is perfect for multi couples / families, the views are incredible, especially from the hot tub. This is the first place I have ever been, where you can see sunrises and sunsets without leaving! Such a cool, unusual property. And the internet connection is awesome! Only caution... This house is remote and it does take 30 minutes to get to stores, restaurants, etc... I view that as a good thing!

Exceeded all expectations!

By far one of the best rental homes I've ever stayed at! Fully stocked kitchen, beautiful furniture, comfy beds, new washer and dryer, HUGE hot tub, incredibly clean, gorgeous landscaping around the property. I would highly recommend and hope to be back in the future. Thank you for a great stay!

Skytop

My family enjoyed our trip to Skytop. We loved the privacy , the amazing views and the home was well equipped with a gourmet kitchen and i nice game areas. We enjoyed a few hikes in the area and exploring Black Mountain. We hope to return soon

Beautiful house and location

We had a great time at our stay here. The location is beautiful in the mountains and the amenities were great. Great place to stay when visiting Asheville area. The drive up from Asheville is about 30 minutes.

Amazing snow weekend at the chalet!

Best experience with a rental especially during a snow storm! Great communication, fantastic property and location. Wonderful amenities, cant say enough about this piece of heaven in black mtn. Would book here again!

Beautiful and spacious

Gorgeous setting with great amenities in the house, all in good condition. The hot tub was wonderful and came with very clear instructions and with lighting to use at night. Lots of games, puzzles, things to do. Adequate amount of toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc. Only negatives are that the garbage drop off was inconvenient location and limited drop off times. Also, could use an upgrade on at least one television to a wifi TV that is able to access the various apps we have today (Apple TV, Disney+, etc.). The downstairs TV did have Netflix and Amazon Prima capability though. Had trouble getting sound from the 3rd floor TV. Would definitely consider staying here again upon return to the area.

Great holiday getaway!

From the moment we booked until after we checked out, the property managers were communicative and very responsive. The Skytop Chalet is the perfect gathering place for a festive family holiday. The house is amazing and it was decorated for the holidays which was a bonus and added to our holiday cheer! The house was well-appointed and oh so spacious. We had 3 generations staying and everyone had space to spread out. The game room downstairs was perfect for family competitions. We saw a black bear in the backyard on the last day which excited all of us! The owner also left great directions for hiking the Upper Catawba Falls which we took advantage of and thoroughly enjoyed. Black Mountain was close and a fun town to visit. Asheville was an easy 30 minute drive as well. A good time was had by all!

Skytop Chalet 12/10-12/13

The property is spacious and allows for appropriate social distancing for parties of 10 or less. With the mild temperatures, we opened windows and spent a lot of time outside on the decks enjoying the views, cardinals, hot tub and fire pit outside. Bring baby gates if you have little ones, the steps are steep and spiral. If you don't plan to move some furniture to block access. Also we experienced a bit of a lady bug infestation and had to sweep them up along with some fire place debris to prevent our little one from enjoying a less than tasty snack. Hence the 3 star cleanliness rating. Otherwise it was a great place to stay and spend time with family.
