Surrounded by beautiful nature and adjacent to the spacious Staufen Chalet grounds, you’ll also find many animals—such as sheep, horses, chickens, and a playful dog—who’ll be delighted to interact with you.

Welcome to our ground-floor “Bergsehnsucht” suite (65 square meters), which accommodates up to 5 people and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain landscape. The suite features two bedrooms, each with a double bed that can be converted into two single beds if needed. Both bedrooms are equipped with spacious walk-in closets. In the modern kitchen-dining area, you’ll find everything you need to prepare enjoyable meals. The large dining table seats up to 6 people and is furnished with exceptionally comfortable deluxe chairs. An additional 2-seater sleeper sofa is available for one more guest. The bathroom features an impressive walk-in rain shower at ground level and offers all the amenities you’d expect, including a sink and toilet. Enjoy relaxing moments on your private, covered terrace, which features a dining area for 6 people and two sun loungers with a table. The suite is also equipped with a total of 3 flat-screen TVs (Smart TVs) to keep you entertained. Upon request, a private outdoor hot tub can be booked from May through September. Please note that smoking is not permitted inside the chalet (except on the terrace) and that pets are not allowed.
The Staufen Chalet is very centrally located, surrounded by numerous attractions such as Lake Chiemsee, Lake Königssee, the Watzmann, Berchtesgaden, Salzburg, and the spa town of Bad Reichenhall.

Our chalet was newly built on the site of an old mountain farm, combining traditional style with modern elements. Situated on a mountainside at the edge of the forest, with a breathtaking view of the valley and the impressive mountain panorama, the Staufen Chalet “Hochreit” offers the perfect setting for an unforgettable vacation.
The land surrounding our chalet was marked on old maps as a royal riding or hunting ground, which underscores the history and charm of this unique location.
As a young family of hosts who live right here on-site, Bavarian hospitality is in our blood.
