Its winding lanes and characterful buildings are home to independent shops and tempting cafes, as well as the Beatrix Potter Gallery. For fresh air and open views, Esthwaite Water (3 miles) offers peaceful shoreline walks and idyllic picnic spots. A little further on, the western edge of Lake Windermere (4 miles) invites you to hire rowing boats or set off on a relaxing cruise, taking in the surrounding fells from the water. Latterbarrow (2 miles) provides a short but rewarding climb with far-reaching views. Meanwhile, Grizedale Forest (4 miles) combines woodland trails with outdoor art installations, making it a fun and varied day out for all ages.

The heart of the cottage is its welcoming open-plan living area – a sociable setting where everything flows with ease. In the lounge, an open fire casts a warm glow across comfortable seating, creating a cosy corner for film nights, favourite playlists, or simply settling in after a day outdoors.
