"Pasamos cuatro noches en el hotel y cada día superaba, en el mal sentido, al anterior. Primero nos dieron una habitación que no correspondía con la categoría que habíamos reservado: suite. "We enjoyed our 6 night stay. The location of the hotel on the beach is perfect. The staff is very attentive, service minded and positive. We enjoyed the gym and SPA and our wonderful balcony from where we could see the most spectacular sunsets. We would have appreciated a better WiFi ( the small beach restaurants close by had a much better and faster WiFi). The poor WiFi is not acceptable in a place like this. "I have stayed in Sri Lanka 4 times previously so I know what to expect. The Eden hotel employees are very kind and polite. But other taxi providers are not allowed to take you to or pick you up from the hotel! So the extortion on taxi fare charges is controlled to the point where nobody will charge you less than 9,000 rupees to take you to the airport and we even hear of violence between taxi drivers if you don’t use the taxi drivers that control completely the Eden hotel gates!!!!!"

"First time in Sri Lanka. Simply one of the best hotels we have stayed in anywhere. Friendly, courteous staff who couldn't do enough for us, a superb room with a balcony offering a beautiful beach view. We stayed five nights and didn't bother to eat anywhere else - the food was excellent. We wanted to take the chef home with us. We took long walks along the beaches and spent a lot of time in the wonderful hotel grounds and by the very stylish infinity pool. We want to visit Sri Lanka again soon...

"Nice hotel with great location on the beach....initially I would have given a 4/5. Now I downgraded to 3/5. Internet seems to cut out constantly at check-out time (I saw this happen every one of the five days I was there...curious that internet fails everyday at the same time!) so impossible to order an uber and you end up taking their taxis which are double the price!!! Also, no fans in rooms so you are stuck with loud A/C all night. Finally, for some reason, two days into my stay somebody...
