Comfortable & Clean with a Great View

The cabin was just as advertised except the views were better than expected. Everything was in good shape and very comfortable. The communication prior to arrival was very good and helpful. A 4WD vehicle is definitely needed for this drive as strongly recommended. Checkout procedures were clear and easy. I would stay here again.

Relaxing and private getaway

We had a very relaxing time. The house was clean and the provided towels, kitchen and bath items were just what we needed for a weekend without having to worry about bringing things from home. The hot tub was the perfect way to unwind without having to worry about neighbors or passing vehicles spoiling the view of the wooded surroundings. We enjoyed peaceful birdsongs with tea and coffee on the deck in the mornings and unwinding with a beverage while gazing at the sun set over the mountains in the evening. The drive up was as described, but definitely doable in our SUV. We would certainly make a return trip.

The place was great. The Cleaning crew could have have done a better job cleaning seeing how there was mouse droppings or something on the mantle and cobwebs hanging from the ceilings. The code to the door didn’t work and thank god the back door was open for us to get in because when we texted and called never got a response. Also the back door flung open every time the wind blew. we put a chair under the handle to keep it stationary. The trash cans up top were full from the previous renters. The tv in the master room would not work. Other than those things the place was amazing. The view was amazing.

Beautiful views and perfect rustic cabin

Enjoyed everything about this place! Hot tub was so nice and the kitchen was well equipped. Beds were so comfy and the gas rock fireplace made it such a cozy atmosphere! Will be back!

Nice cabin

The cabin was clean and quiet. We had some troble with the heat but the property management was very responsive. A better coffee maker would be nice. Other than that we had a good family time. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

Sun and the Sky

Our stay at Faraway Skies was excellent. We enjoyed all our amenities and the location couldn't have been better. During our stay, the fall colors were peaking! The breath taking view truly did not disappoint. We ran into a little trouble with one of the porch doors the first night we were there and had repairmen out to the location a few occasions during our stay. Otherwise, the home was in great shape for a wonderful stay.

Overall a pleasant stay

Check in and out was a breeze. The location was stunning and offers an amazing view. We loved the outdoor patio and jacuzzi. It was clean and comfortable. The only thing I did not like was that the home had a stench that lingered the entire duration of our stay. Overall we had a good time.

Amazing views, lovely property

We had a wonderful weekend. The view is phenomenal. If you want to sit on a balcony, sip wine and have incredible mountain views - you will not be disappointed. The cabin was incredibly clean, well maintained and a great space. We felt at home and highly recommend.

Enjoyed our stay

We had a really fun girls weekend. Much needed. House was clean and perfect. View was perfect. Hiked Elk Knob summit trail, which is close by with great views. Easy drive into Boone for dinner. The only con I can think of would be the low shower water pressure. Not a deal breaker, though. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful family weekend

We enjoyed our stay at Faraway Skies. It was our first family weekend at App State with our oldest. The cabin was wonderfully clean and well appointed. Wonderful view in the morning. It was far enough out of Boone to avoid some of the craziness but close enough to be a quick ride down the road to get to campus. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful House!

Everything was perfect. Exactly what we were hoping for! House was very clean and had everything you need. Road getting up to it was single lane and could be tough with a car or if you met another car coming the other way. Other than that was absolutely perfect! Would highly recommend!!!
