Wonderful!

The unit was so lovely, Vanessa was so helpful and friendly, and we just had a wonderful stay. The bed was very comfortable in the air conditioned bedroom, which made for a very restful sleep. The location is perfect with coffee and restaurants just around the corner. We will definitely be returning.

Excellent communication with host. Very good location with easy access to everything. Place very clean. Note AC only in bedroom. Highly recommend it but be aware if weather is very hot the apartment will be very hot as well. I would definitely stay at this place again but not in the peak of summer.

Relaxing Get-a-way

Shelley’s place is wonderful! Clean and comfortable in the heart of the Madera district. Just a few blocks from the beach. Amazing restaurants around every corner of the La Ceiba complex. Shelley was very helpful before and during our stay. She gave excellent recommendations for a variety of attractions. Her property manager, Vanessa, was attentive and willing to assist us at a moments notice. We would love to return for a future vacation! Shelley’s place is highly recommended!

Comfy oasis in great location !

From the very beginning the communication with the owners and the reception from the manager upon arrival was excellent. This place is very private, secure and in an excellent location close to the beach, shopping, restaurants and the taxis are directly across the street. Perfect for 2 people in a tropical setting with 2 nice pools. Completly equipped, including a nice Bose bluetooth stereo. Ive been to Zihua many times and i give this place 2 thumbs up recommendation !

Nice clean and secure complex.

Nice condo in a handy location close to town, although a little noisey. Mexicans love their celebrations! The open air living was great, and the two pools were a welcome relief from the Zihuatanejo heat.

A wonderful unit with a great location

Casa Almendro is a large comfortable 1 bedroom unit in a superb central location in Zihua. It's a gated complex with 2 clean refreshing pools, a welcome benefit to cool after a day in the heat. If you are into Mexican adventures, seeking out local culture and food, then this will be a perfect unit for you to consider. Close to Playa Madera (10 minute walk), Centro (15 minutes), the open air market at Solidaridad (5 Minutes), and a Soriana Mega store (15 minutes). As well, and conveniently, there is a taxi stand right outside the main gate to get you to other destinations inexpensively. We used taxis to visit friends in Playa La Ropa on multiple occasions. a good selection of local restaurants are close, safe and entertaining. We recommend Rufo's right around the corner. Lastly, the owner Shelly's Mexican manager, Vanessa, is lovely to deal with and speaks fluent English. We had a minor problem with ants, and Vanessa's team were knocking on our door the next morning to do a thorough clean and manage the issue. Zihuatenejo is an adventure, and we'll be back to stay in this unit again. R & C. Note - Casa Almendro is on the 2nd floor without an elevator. Just a heads up for those with mobility issues.

Love the location, very close to everything.

The only downside was that they were working on a roof right outside The unit. It wasn’t full-time but a little distractive, and not very private at that time.

Adorable condo in a great location!

Our condo was exactly as advertised, adorable and pleasant to stay in. Walking distance to lots of shopping, restaurants & the beach! We spent a lot of time in the pool and down at the sand.

Paradise

Casa Almendro quickly became our home away from home! Meeting Shelly the owner, upon our arrival, made us feel so welcome! The pools, tropical plantation, staff and friendly neighbours make this a very desirable location. The condo is spacious, clean and very beautifully decorated. Shelly and Don have paid great attention to details to every part of the unit. We loved the two open spaces and enjoyed many game nights out there. And the cozy King bed always felt so comfortable after our days in the warm sun! A perfect location for shopping, beaches and eating out! Great selection of restaurants near by. A real gem of a place to enjoy all the wonderful things Zihuatanejo has to offer. Pure Paradise! Looking forward to returning soon! Gracias!

Casa Almendro is..... Simply the Best!

This corner unit perfectly captures the gentle breezes of Zihuatanejo. From the well appointed kitchen, pretty decor, comfortable bed and bright, spacious living area to the choice of two pools, friendly and helpful staff, our time at Casa Almendra was perfection! Just steps from restaurants, shops and the beach, we enjoyed fabulous food and gorgeous sunsets. We felt safe and welcome everywhere we went. We will be back!

Amazing accomodations and location.

This property is very spacious and ideally located near shopping, restaurants and the beach. The property is well equip for cooking your own meals or BBQing. The grounds are well kept and absolutely beautiful, Jesus the grounds keeper ensures that it always looks perfect for the guest to enjoy. We enjoy the peacefulness of the property and hate when it's time to depart. We will always return. Thank you Shelly for sharing this wonderful palce with us.

Our condo at La Cieba was exactly what we hoped for...private, quiet, gorgeous landscaping.

The condo was spacious, with two open air decks. We enjoyed both swimming pools daily. We were also close to beaches, shopping and restaurants....I would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends and family!

Absolutely perfect location, friendly residents & staff. Great neighborhood. Liked the open air feel. The ninja professional blender was terrific and we had many delicious fresh fruit smoothies. Only glitch was the bedroom toilet which was running. Needs to be fixed. We ran out of water once because if it. We would definitely stay again & recommend to others.

Amazing condo in a great complex

We absolutely loved Shelley's condo. It is spacious and very well equipped and it is obvious that the owners have put a lot of time into decorating and maintaining it. The condo is located in the Playa Madera area and it is within easy walking distance of shops, town, the beach and numerous restaurants. The complex is beautiful with 2 swimming pools and lots of chairs and loungers. We will be back for sure and we highly recommend this rental.

Perfect way to spend New Year’s

Thank you Shelley for being so accommodating and Vanessa for being so responsive and attentive! Our second year at Casa Almendro, and we love it! We have been coming to Zihua since 2001, and Playa Madera is were we like to stay. Casa Amendro is the perfect location, as well as being one of the best equipped and relaxing places we’ve stayed.

Comfortable, colorful, and convenient

I highly recommend Casa Almendro as a place to stay in Zihuatanejo. The second story, one bedroom condo is spacious, well-appointed, and a delight to the eye, with its arching walls and Mexican tiles. There is a pool right below the condo and we dipped in every afternoon to cool off. This was our first time in Zihuatanejo. Shelley gave us detailed instructions for navigating the airport and taxi get to our condo, which was so thoughtful. Vanessa, the property manager, is also incredibly helpful and friendly. Her English is excellent, which came in handy as our Spanish vocabulary is limited. Casa Almendro is perfectly situated for exploring all aspects of Zihuatanejo right outside your door. (Outside the (always locked) door of the condo grounds.) We stayed for a month, and we shopped in the local markets, took boat rides to Playa Las Gatas (for great snorkeling), boogie boarded 3 blocks away at Playa Madera, and walked ten minutes over the hill to Playa La Ropa. There is a taxi stand across the street, and you can easily take a taxi anywhere you want to go. The only negative we found was the noise of the streets and the loud recorded music played everywhere. This is not a criticism of Casa Almendro. It's just a warning that Mexican towns are noisy. Bring earplugs. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, and the spacious kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. I loved the indoor-outdoor living: sitting in the open air dining area overlooking the pool. There is air conditioning in the bedroom for cooling off, and fans throughout the rest of the condo. If you are looking to immerse yourself in the culture of a Pacific Mexico town, while simultaneously feeling safe and comfortable, then Casa Almendra is for you.

The best

This was our best vacation ever.The complex ,the apartment,the location and not to forget the neighbors ,were all so much a part of this wonderful time we had .Shelly you have a gem of a place.We can only hope that we can return someday.Thank you to Vanessa for all your helpful information. I could go on for ever how much we enjoyed our stay in your apartment and the complex, it had everything a person could ever want.Zihuatanejo is truly a place I would recommend to anyone BUT I am worried if I do it would lessen my chance of ever returning to such a wonderful place.
