"Stone Town is over rated. The area is dirty, the buildings' facades are falling apart. The public parks and beaches are mostly dirty, with garbage everywhere. I wouldn't suggest to stay there. Better stay some where else in Zanzibar and just spend one morning walking around Stone Town.
