We had a great stay at Golden Palm. It’s quiet, clean and comfortable. Rooms are huge, beds are cozy, restaurant food was fresh and delicious. Staff very courteous.

Most Horrible Experience of Life
Horrible hotel, unprofessional, pathetic, poor, shameless. We had paid booking for 4 single rooms, when we arrived we were told the booking is confirmed and paid but there are no rooms available and forced us to another lower class class hotel. To our surprise, we were offered two rooms in that lower class hotel. Had to beg for 4 rooms for an hour to get. Will never visit this hotel again.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the airport so if you have a late night flight this might be a great option for you. However, even though hotel description lists airport shuttle they do not in fact provide one. We contacted them in advance and although it was confirmed by them, they did not send anyone to meet us. We have heard the same story from other people who were staying at the hotel. Breakfast is provided, rooms have air conditioning and they provide beach towels, but the beach is rocky and during low tide you could be walking for miles until the water even hits your knees so not much swimming can be done in the ocean. They do have a small pool where one can refresh.

Arrived in the evening to be told they were over booked. They sent us in the middle of the night to a nearby hotel with no hot water. As compensation we were only offered a free airport transfer, which is a value of like 2 bucks from that nearby. Trash fire of a hotel.

Perfect place clise to airport with good kitchen.
Good bed, perfect place to stay when you want to be close to airport. And the restaurant makes delicious food. Try the prawns tempura

Beautiful property - relatively new from 2021 I think. Already some building paint and decking issues. Close to airport (15 min). Nice pool and very attentive staff. Great food. There’s nothing to do around the hotel other than relax.

Calm, clean and exceptionally good service
Hotel conpound and room very nice and clean, exceptionally friendly staff and good food at the restaurant, also breakfast was decent. Only the bathroom could use some renovation, the handle of the shower was very rusty.

Nice little hotel with great staff. However, the ocean beach is all coral, so you can only look at it, not go in; no sandy beach either. Also, horrible dirt road into it, darn near need a jeep to reach it. Last, its isolated, no nearby restaurants, shops etc. Have to have taxi or car to get to anything. Good spot if you want to be alone.

Ok for one night before leaving
Ok place just to stay maximum one or two night before leaving the island. Nothing to do around, food limit choice,no beach and no way to swim.

Grandes différences entre la qualité hôtelière, qui est excellente avec une très bonne literie, une réception aux petits soins, une propreté au top...et une restauration vraiment très moyenne. Le petit-déjeuner n’est vraiment pas terrible et la demi-pension a fuir : seulement des burgers et gâteau industriel en dessert...

Très bien
Arrivant un peu tard à l’aéroport de Zanzibar nous avons opté pour la 1ere nuit à proximité mais je ne m’attendais pas à ce type d’hôtel au vu du tarif . En effet il est très agréable, au bord de l’eau ( pas trop pour se baigner ) avec petite piscine agréable ,belles terrasses où prendre le petit déjeuner, chambre et sdb spacieuses , personnel aux petits soins . Je recommande vivement pour ne pas s’embarrasser avec la route de nuit tard après long vol pour rejoindre la cote Est . On aurait même pu rester plus le temps de visiter Prison Island , Nakupenda beach , Stone Town …..
