Great hotel in Papigo
This hotel has a wonderful view of the Towers of Astraka just across the valley. The room was a beautiful example of the traditional wood floor and ceiling of the area, and the hotel is built of stone with slate roofs. The hosts are a great couple, and provide warm service. The breakfast included local dishes which were delicious. We will certainly stay here again on another trip.

Une autre Grèce, très accueillante
Notre séjour au Papaevangelou Hotel a été superbe. L'hôtel est très agréable et confortable, à la fois dans les parties communes et dans les chambres. Le petit déjeuner est magnifique, surtout pris sur la terrasse. Et puis on est à la montagne. Pas de plages, mais des rivières, à l'eau turquoise mais fraîche, des forêts, des villages magnifiques, de très bons restaurants à Papigo. C'est une autre Grèce qu'on visite, à cheval entre la montagne (fraîcheur la nuit) et l'arrière-pays méditerranéen (chaleur la journée).

The trip I dreamed of
I’m so glad we chose this hotel! The hosts were friendly and helpful, the location was unbelievable! There were so many touches that showed how much they cared about creating a beautiful place to stay. If you want to be away from the crowds and In the middle of the natural beauty, this is the place for you. Well worth the drive!

best hotel in Zagoria area
we stayed at Papaevangelou Hotel for 4 nights. we got 2 suits for us and the kids. the first thing is the amazing view from the rooms, 2nd are the very big rooms equipped with all that you need. breakfast was great. most important thing is Giorgos the owner:such a great, pleasent guy, helped us in anything and more. we will defintely be back here, it's the best place in the whole area of Zagoria

We are a family of 3 - I made a mess up of the booking and got the dates wrong by a week! George (anglasised) was an absolute star, and made everything so easy! The rooms are amazing (we were on a tour of Greece, and we've seen A LOT of rooms) - the photos don't do the place justice. The breakfast was lovely too. I couldn't recommend Papaevangelou more, or indeed Papigo itself.

We were astounded by the comfy cozy charm of the units, the service provided by Giorgos Papaevangelou, and the amazing location with view of the town and the mountains. I also love that each of the units has a little courtyard space with seats to sit back and enjoy the view and serenity of the summertime evenings. And they catered to our vegetarian needs providing what I can only call a wonderful breakfast banquet.

Wonderful place designed as an old village house. The owner is very helpful and kind person and the all place designed and managed with full care and getting into every small detail. Rooms are comfortable very clean . Breakfast was rich and Etsy . We recommend to stay here = ir was amazing !

A great place with wonderful views. The owner is so welcoming and helpful! The room is big, with a kitchen and an outside space. We took a rafting tour with "Papigo Rafting" which was great! and a day tour with "alpine Zone" which was also very good! A great hotel in a great area!

It is a beautifully situated property, so close to the peaks of Mount Smolikas and Mount Tymfi. The landscaping is pretty and enhances the view even more! The owner is such a warm and welcoming person and the served breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The room has everything you need. Beautifully decorated in a traditional style, lovely views, good firm bed, good heating, even lights with dimmer where you can adjust the brightness! Very good value. This is a place I would definitely return to if I am in the area. Highly recommended.

My husband and I had our own private mountain “suite” with spectacular views of the mountain, and an amazing breakfast each morning. It was comfortable, peaceful, and George, or host, was very friendly and accommodating. We felt like we were at home.

A TRUE Mountain Paradise. Yes, the term is too often loosely bandied about, but in over 45 years of traveling this beautiful world, I've seen a few that clearly stand above and sadly, some that have lost that lofty status over time due to the incursions of modern tourism. But Papingo Village, the Papaevangelou Hotel and its kindhearted, ebullient owner George have captured our hearts and joined our personal pantheon of the best places on earth. Wow! The views, the setting, the colorful, dramatic, historical ambience, the natural sights and sounds, well, it's all pretty unforgettable. George's careful, caring attention to detail completely harmonizes his wonderful place with the stunning beauty all around, And the bountiful, delicious breakfasts on the terrace are simply amazing. We're still trying to recreate parts of them on our return home. A George is such a gracious, fun-loving guy, after a full day of hiking it feels like a return to a real home. Well, our cup of praise here is clearly running over, but we're just overflowing with warm memories of our four day stay in early May. It still brings a smile even back here, just thinking about all the smiles George & co. keep creating every day over there.Thanks!! Steve & Tiya

Perfect stay!
Unfortunately, we could only stay one night at Papaevangelou's hotel (we did not book far enough in advance!)...but we were lucky to have that. The owner helped us solve a problem which we encountered the first night of our trip. By calling him on the way over from Athens and telling him about it, he literally saved us what might have been a ruined trip, and for that, we are extremely grateful. When we arrived at his place, out popped the most friendly and smiling man, giving us hugs, helping us to our room and then making cappuccinos for us! How could we not fall in love! The room was amazing, comfortable and in great taste with gorgeous views, situated in the best place (Megalo Papigo village) for nature lovers in Zagoria. The only problem was that we had stayed at Papaevangelou as our first night of the trip and everything else paled in comparison after that. My two teenage daughters did not want to leave! The price too was very reasonable compared to other places we visited.
