  • Ten minutes from Yosemite Valley and conveniently located on the paved road, this one bedroom cabin in Foresta offers complete relaxation in a quiet setting. The full kitchen includes all modern appliances (excepting dishwasher) and comes equipped with dining area, coffee maker, toaster, blender, pots, pans & dishes. Or use the propane BBQ while enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Eat on the screened porch, safe from pesky bugs, or relax on the couch. The modern bathroom features a walk-in shower and stacked washer/dryer. The bedroom has a comfortable King bed, closet and supplemental electric stove. Equipped with romantic flame gas insert and A/C. Explore the quiet surroundings, stroll to Crane Creek moments away, then rest under the shady oaks and pines.     Foresta is a great starting point to various Yosemite destinations, Yosemite Valley, Tuolumne Meadows, the Merced & Tuolumne Groves of Sequoias and many hiking trails. Offering Free satellite TV, WIFI and HughesNet Gen4 internet, Verizon's 4G network is also available.

    Foresta is located within the boundaries of Yosemite National Park. Now known as an “inholding”, Foresta (Big Meadow) started as a pioneering area. Two ranches (McCauley and Meyers) provided beef, pork, dairy and vegetables to the Yosemite Valley hotels. In the twenties, it was sub-divided and given the name of Foresta. Created as an “artistic” community, musical gatherings were held by the creek. After the Great Depression, many lots were sold for back taxes. Approximately 75 homes were in use, either full time or seasonally, before the 1993 A-Rock fire destroyed most of them. More than half of the homes have now been rebuilt. Fire has been a defining force in this area, showcasing Mother Nature's endless cycles.

Oak Wood Cabin was very nice. Loved that it was secluded but a quick drive to Yosemite Valley. Loved the screened porch. Excellent kitchen. All rooms were larger than we expected. Would definitely stay here if we are able to visit Yosemite again!

Our stay at Oak Wood Cabin was everything we were hoping for and more. The location is ideal, and we were truly nestled in nature. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. The owner (Laura) and caretaker (Annie) answered any question we had quickly and were helpful with information about the area. We could reach every area of the park, and it’s particularly well situated if you’re spending time in Tuolumne or Hetch-Hetchey. If we’re lucky enough to come back, we already know where we will be staying!

Location was amazing! It took us about 20 minutes to get to Curry Village. The host was very responsive and gave excellent directions and check in information. The house is rustic but has updated kitchen. The mattress is very firm which was uncomfortable for us, but may be fine for others. My only recommendation is maybe a mattress topper available in the very large closet. Again, you cannot beat the location. There is actually a trailhead for YNP just steps from the cabin that leads to an amazing private creek area and 40’ waterfall.

Loved this cabin and just perfect for staying in such a beautiful place as YNP. Rustic, clean, quiet, had everything we needed, away from the crowds, only a 30 min. drive to the valley. We enjoyed relaxing every night on the screened in porch after a long day of hiking. Laura and Annie were so responsive to any questions I had. The directions to the cabin and how to get into the cabin were great. We will definitely stay here again which I hope is sooner than later. I had tears in my eyes when we left to go home. I wish we could have stayed so much longer. We highly recomend this cabin. Thank you for a great week in your cute cabin.

The location Inside the park was awesome. Private, safe and very comfortable. Very rustic cabin but updated with complete kitchen, entertainment and wifi. The best was being minutes from Yosemite Valley and all the great hiking. I would stay here again.

The location was great. The cabin was a perfect size for us, and we had good television reception and internet access which we value. The cabin was well stocked with basic supplies. The interior was comfortable but dated.

Can’t beat the location. Easy to get to Yosemite Valley and lovely area with meadow, barns, creeks, and little waterfalls just along the street the cabin is located.

Great location

Great location inside the park, easy access to everywhere we wanted to visit. One bedroom house with a nice kitchen and living room. We cooked several meals during our stay. Would recommend.

We enjoyed our time at Annie and Rick's cabin! The hosts provided detailed instructions for locating the property and communicated well throughout the process. I appreciated the inclusion of amenities like a washer/dryer combo and a box fan for stuffy summer nights.

Great location in Yosemite!

This was a great cabin. Very close to Yosemite Valley, very clean and comfortable and roomy. The kitchen was nice. The owner always answered me very quickly. It was so quiet and peaceful in the wooded area. I would recommend anyone going to Yosemite to stay here! It was such a pleasant experience.

A week in nature

We enjoyed this rustic cabin so much It was conveniently located within the park. It provided the relaxed natural experience we were looking for. The house was well stocked and the A/C was a plus with the warm sunny days we had. I highly recommend this place

Cabin in the Woods

Loved that this cozy cabin was located within Yosemite NP. Everything we needed was there to make our stay comfortable. Located off the beaten path so suggest finding your way there before dark!

Property was great! Expect closer to 30 min to get to most Yosemite Valley destinations, but the drive in is gorgeous so can’t really complain there. There’s good cellular service at the property and the host was a great communicator! We had some very uncharacteristic thunderstorms during our stay so some power outages occurred but they were solved reasonably quickly. Nice a quiet with a trail head right behind the property.

Very nice cabin!

This is a very nice cabin in an out of the way spot INSIDE Yosemite National Park. Nice modern full kitchen. Easy access to the valley (15-20 minutes).

Perfect location

This was the perfect location for exploring the valley. Come prepared with groceries in hand and you will be set for tranquility and some great treks into the valley. The space was clean and as advertised. Owners were very responsive and helpful.
