This place is super quaint and cute. You feel like you’re stepping back in time to a 70’s summer camp, which is fun for a visit to Yosemite. It was so quiet and peaceful here, which is exactly what we wanted. Wawona is extremely charming and having stayed in the Valley before, I’d choose Wawona. The rental company was extremely easy to deal with and check-in couldn’t have been simpler. The cabin is very quaint and cute. The furniture is tired and could use updating. The rug in one of the bathrooms should’ve been thrown out years ago. The carpet should be replaced throughout, and a good dusting on the decor couldn’t hurt. The lighting in the bedrooms leaves much to be desired. But really, the porch was fantastic, it was warm with the heating at night, and the overall layout of the property was perfect for our needs. The value was spot on and we loved the stay overall. With a few updates, this place could really shine even brighter!

Host at the check in was super nice and friendly! I believe her name was Sharon (I’m old and forgetful) and she was amazing. The cabin was all we needed; loved the fireplace and thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the back porch drinking coffee at sunrise or sunset (we had a few deer walk right by one morning). My one complaint is the carpet, it is long past needing to be replaced. Please take the money earned from my one week stay and get new carpet. Or better yet, put in tile or laminate floor and get area rugs that can easily be replaced every few years. Overall, it was a wonderful week in Yosemite! Thank you Redwoods, we will be back!

Essentials were provided. Cabin was clean with the exception of shag carpeting. Carpet needs to be pulled up. Smelled and didn't want to walk on it barefoot. I swept all outdoor spaces and left cabin cleaner than when we arrived.

Cute Cabin no A/C

The cabin was cute, if a little dark and dated. The main drawback for us was that we would have liked to be closer to the Yosemite Valley after all -- there isn't a lot to do in Wawona. Also, the cabin does not have A/C, in spite of the temps being in nearly 100 degrees!

Nice atmosphere, convenient location

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Our main problem was with communication with the manager of the property. We apparently were supposed to receive check-in instructions via email which we never did. I reached out to the contact phone number the day of arrival and left a voicemail but never heard back. We arrived approximately 9pm on our check-in date and fortunately the back door had been left unlocked, so we went on it. The next day we found a "registration" office, and learned we should have stopped there to pick up a packet including keys. Other than that things were fine. It's not the most well-equipped property I've stayed at (2 quarter size soap bars were the extent of bathroom amenities) but it was clean and comfortable and had a nice cabin-ish feeling. The bathroom off the "main" bedroom is tiny, and has a shelf mounted over the toilet with a sharp corner which gouged my back a couple times when trying to move into the tiny space in front of the sink - perhaps that should be fixed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the location was great.

Cute neighborhood right in the park

Great location to access all of Yosemite by car. My son’s first visit to the park and he was blown away with the views in all our hikes and SUP days. Wawona could use a nice coffee shop and maybe a bar/restaurant but beyond that minor critique, we loved staying there.

Lovely community in Yosemite National Park

Cabin #53 provided all the comforts of home. Appreciated that cabin was tidy and clean upon arrival and we found it provided most of what was needed for meal prep. A set of linens for the sofa bed wouldʻve been appreciated which we requested the following day as we arrived after office hours. Otherwise, we wish we had another day or two to enjoy the Redwoods at Yosemite and the cabin deck and nearby hiking trails. Our 16 yr old son was impressed with the binder that included comprehensive information of activities and a history of the area. Laundry is nearby at the office and is free, which we appreciated and used twice during our short stay, and housekeeping staff were very accommodating and kind. We hope to return to cabin #53.

Cozy rustic cabin

The cabin was a comfortable and cozy as base station while we explored Yosemite. The cabin was tidy and had all the basic amenities. We were very happy to find a dog friendly rental so that our entire family could enjoy our getaway.

Rustic Cabin

The cabin is fairly rustic and outdated but well equipped and conveniently located within the National Park. There is a small convenience store and a gas station nearby, both were very handy. It still took about an hour to drive to and fro the Valley each way.

Lovely cabin and close enough to everything near Yosemite. Lovely walks in the morning and birds singing nearby made it special. Pet friendly. We were able to bring our dogs. Perfect weekend.
