Family Vacation

We had a lovely time. The location was great with a short walk to both beaches. We found that we could park the extra car at the baseball field or beach overnight with no issues. House is lovely and well stocked with linens and towels all very clean. Plenty of room to separate. Cleaning crew didn’t do a good job cleaning. This is an easy fix. We ended up cleaning It when we arrived. House is new and bright. 1st floor a/c is perfect. We kept baby’s bedroom door and windows closed to sleep and it had no a/c. Could use window a/c units in bedrooms and a dehumidifier in basement. A bit musty. Otherwise the house is perfect. I would definitely rent this house again!

Beautiful But

Home not as functional as it should be. Master shower not suitable for tall & seniors. Slippery, no bars, plumbing,watch your head. Lots of beautiful ships, however, not practical for kids and pets. Great design, comfortable chairs, sofa and beds. Very nice appliances. Great neighborhood.

Very nice

The house is very nice, comfortable and as advertised. It is a very convenient location as you can walk everywhere. The neighborhood is great, quiet and people we met were friendly. Our only minor concern was that we couldn’t find any instructions regarding how to leave the house. So the night before our checkout I wrote and asked what we needed to do but got no response. We received 2 emails/texts about checkout the day of, but they provided no instructions — they just reminded us checkout was at 10 am. Then at 11:30, after I was home, I received an email telling me to be sure to wash the towels before I left! It’s not helpful to get checkout instructions 90 minutes after you are required to check out. I hope I am not charged for not washing the towels when I wasn’t informed I should do that until after I was required to leave.

The perfect vacation home

This was the cutest vacation home for 9 girls for a weekend getaway in York ME. The house was very clean and check-in was easy. Walking distance to the beach and to town. I would definitely stay here again!

Great house and location!

Easy check-in, perfect location walking distance to two beaches, nice walkable neighborhood. We had a great time with our family including two boys aged 9 and 12, and our small dog. Property manager was easy to communicate with. The house was clean, had a good supply of toilet paper, towels, detergent, etc, and beds were comfortable. We would stay again!

Perfect location

We had a great time at this perfectly located house. We were close to both Long and Short Sands beaches so it was great for walking to the beach. The house was beautiful and comfortable. We have no complaints with regard to our experience vacationing at Starfish Haven.

Siblings weekend

Great location! The house was clean & spacious and all of the basics were supplied. The TVs were tricky to get running with the various remotes and settings (the main TV had been left with only the DVD plugged in not the cable and then when we got the cable box running only the news stations showed up! We finally figured out someone had set their favorites as news & info so it took us an hour to figure out how to get all the stations to show!). We gave up on getting the basement TV to run. It is more difficult to communicate if there is a question when you have to go through a management company rather than having a direct contact. All in all, it was a good stay in spite of some iffy October weather!

Perfect location, cozy house

We stayed for a few days in Mid-October and it was the perfect getaway due to the location of the house. The Nubble Lighthouse is just down the road a ways, and the beaches were very close, too. My son (almost 4 years old) had fun picking his room out and exploring all over the house, especially the basement TV area. I can also second the previous review that the upstairs master bathroom toilet runs for about a half hour after you flush. I would say the only disappointing thing was finding the dishwasher full (albeit, with clean dishes) when we arrived, which made me wonder if that was overlooked, what else was? Regardless, my family and I enjoyed ourselves at this house and the area.

Slightly dissatisfied

The house was nice, the pictures must have been taken when the rental was new. The furniture had stains, dog hair still on the chairs. Front door wasn’t clean. There was mold on the shower curtain in one bathroom. The master bath’s commode ran all the time and was slow to fill. And there was a dirty washcloth, a razor and hair in the master shower. The half bath always smelled of dead fish. I cleaned the handrails, door knobs n light switches with Lysol wipes because they were dirty. It’s a very pretty place, the location was good and quite.

Toilet in master bedroom ran non stop. Dryer took forever to dry the load of clothes. Trash in kitchen was full when we got there. Over flowing recycle barrel was left at the back door. Sitting on the deck was very smelly. The garbage disposal broke the night before we left. Not enough Towels or paper towels.

Maine-cation 2020

We loved the location, the floor plan, the decor, the kitchen, the deck and fire pit. We loved having multiple dining spots — the large dining table and the kitchen bar allowed us to devote the breakfast room table to the jigsaw puzzle. There were plenty of towels. All the kitchen appliances were awesome, as were the washer/dryer. Negatives: The first floor was effectively cooled with a mini split unit. Upstairs only the master had AC but not the 2nd or 3rd bedrooms. We were there during a record heat wave so on the first night those 2 rooms were unsleepable. We bought a box fan on day 2 and were able to engineer cool air from the master into the other rooms. This meant all bedroom doors had to remain open - not ideal. There was a broken window unit AC in the 2nd bdr closet. There should be king in the master. We had to buy additional TP and paper towels. There was a shortage of glassware in the kitchen. Only 6 large plastic insulated glasses but very little stemware and no juice or midsize glasses. It was annoying to drink your juice in a coffee mug. There was a dirth of instructions for the TV’s and we finally gave up trying. Probably healthier. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay in the home.

Beautiful, comfortable property

We visited southern Maine in I guess what would be considered the ultimate "low season": early February! The town of York is extremely quiet this time of year, as most businesses are closed up for the winter. We had an absolutely wonderful time, though — the house was a cozy oasis against the cold weather, and we really felt at home. While we were in town we had some great seafood and visited the dramatic lighthouse nearby. Thank you for a memorable stay!

The house is spacious. We could’ve had the entire family stay here if it wasn’t for the rule of only six people. This house was very comfortable and convenient for our purpose. It is dog friendly which is a plus. The downstairs did have a musty dog smell. A few items needed attention
