The view from this house is absolutely fantastic! Sitting in the living room or on the deck, just watching the waves was so peaceful. We stayed for two weeks, with people visiting us and staying in the apartment above the garage, which worked really well since they had their own space. The slanted ceilings in both upstairs rooms took some getting used to, but the location made up for that.The hot tub was very clean and the fenced yard was much appreciated by our dogs.The cleanliness level of the rest of the house was really our only issue; but since it's pet-friendly it really wasn't a big deal to us. Some of the furnishings are pretty run down, but still functional so that didn't bother us much either. We're planning on renting the house again next year, so that should communicate how much we enjoyed our stay.

Great property. Stairs to the beach are a little treacherous and some definite deferred maintenance. Great location. Hole in the fence where the neighbors dogs kept coming into the fenced yard. All in all a pretty good experience.

Beautiful view, comfortable space, and perfect for the whole family. A few comments; there are no blinds or curtains in the apartment so female visitors will need to change clothes in the main house for privacy, there are several places in the fence that are broken, and steps down to the beach are steep and there is no handrail. If anyone in your party is unsteady, they will need to go to a different beach access. We had a wonderful time and would stay here again when my daughter is a little older.

Loved the view & beach access

View is beautiful. It was nice to have beach access. Stairs are not suitable for seniors or small children. The house is older and is in need of a refresh & deep cleaning. The furniture is pretty worn & dirty.

Overall an enjoyable stay

Excellent location, comfortable furnishings, lovely foliage in the yard. We felt that the rental company was more generous in their supplies than others. Lots of games and puzzles to choose from. We especially enjoyed relaxing and chatting in the cozy chairs in the living room area looking out on the ocean. Loved that it was a quick walk down to the beach! Some downsides were the two Queen beds were actually double beds, not queens as advertised. The railing around the porch hits right at the coastline view so you don't have the best view of the ocean from inside the house or on the porch unless you're standing. Windows in the detached apartment had no window coverings and neighbors can see in through all the beautiful windows on all four walls. Outdoor lights were finnicky and didn't stay on (both outside the main house and the apartment).

Cute house, great location BUT this house needs some TLC and a deep cleaning! The smell of seafood and dog urine are strong in the main house and the apartment smells like mildew. There are no blinds or curtains in the apartment, so it's bright early mornings and no privacy. The stairs to the beach have seen better days, with no hand rail and a crack in the middle that small dogs can not navigate. We ended up walking down the road to the public access. It's a cute place but it could really use some repairs.

Great location, limited kitchen

You're at the beach for the location, and this location was perfect. Quiet, on the ocean, great views from house, deck, and hot tub. My only issue is the kitchen. I don't like going away for a couple days and having to bring or buy spices and condiments. They had salt and pepper and that's it. If you're cooking, it was limited. The stove is in bad shape, toaster didn't work, frying pans were warped.

Perfect for a rainy coast weekend

Adorable house with great beach access. The hot tub is back on the property so you aren't able to see the beach very well but it was covered and sheltered which was great for the very rainy weekend.

Heron Song vacation

The house is perfect, as my wife said, of all the vacation houses we have stayed in, every summer since 1998, this one was the closest to the ocean! The area between Newport and Yachats is an incredible part of the Oregon coast and Heron song adds to it!

Wish I could live there!

Awesome location, view and nice rooms. I loved the big deck on the beach and spacious yard for our dogs. The hot outdoors shower, laundry room, and game room in the garage was a big plus. The home needs a little TLC but its great for a beach house. I would stay there again.

The location is amazing!!!

This house and property location is excellent!! It is just steps away from the beach. Outside is very maintained with a nice deck, clean hot tub and an outdoor shower with hot water!! Inside the house was the biggest issue. It was pretty dirty. Cobwebs, tons of dust covering the fan blades, dog hair, spilt coffee on the floor, dead bugs on the window ledges, grease all over the outside of the microwave, screens missing on most of the windows and old toilet seats. Fixing these things would be easy and pretty low cost. I will add that the bedding was very clean, the beds were comfy, and the upstairs room and loft is the best! Oh, and the grill is in good condition. I would stay here again in hopes that these problems would be fixed.

Yachats rental

Great house on the shore line. It was great to have the steps that went right down to the beach. The location was great to all the areas that we visited. You should consider having a Keurig and more comfortable pillows. I regretted not bringing my own pillow. Replace the can opener that does not work and replace the burned out lightbulbs. Overall, we had a great stay.

Great place on the coast!

We really enjoyed our stay. It’s a lovely house with ocean views and a separate apartment with its own sun room. We loved the easy access to the beach for long walks and nearby Yachats for fresh seafood meals. The house was comfortable and we really enjoyed having our dogs there as well. Some of the furniture has a little wear and needs updating but overall the place was cozy for a largely rainy weekend with a few bits of sunshine. Thanks and we hope to return!

Amazing views

Stayed here over spring break with the kids. Waking up and walking down the beach was so nice. The hot tub was great! The road to the house is very bumpy so just prepare for that when you turn off the highway in a hurry. If I ever get to back to the coast again we would definitely try and get this place again. 10/10 all the stars!

We enjoyed everything about our stay, from the beach walks, to local shopping and dining. Luna's is a must for the Halibut fish and chips. Great time, thanks for having our family.

What a view!

We had a great stay, already planning to come back. The yard is not fully fenced but we just put our cooler in the gaps and that worked for our dogs. The beach access was great. I do wish they had blinds or curtains in the apartment above the garage all our neighbors could see right In so that was a little uncomfortable.

Lovely views and location

Location is perfect - right on the beach, with a nice sized yard overlooking the water and a private beach entrance. Lots of natural light in the house and little apartment. We ran into a few issues when it came to house supplies - for example we couldn't find any salt and pepper, firewood, lighter for the fire, or a hatchet to cut wood. Given that the last vacation home I stayed at was well stocked, and that the total price of our weekend stay here was pretty substantial, I figured we wouldn't need to bring these things. We ended up buying them in town, so it ended up being fine, but little things like that really make a difference. You really can't be upset with a view like that but a little love in the details goes a long way. All in all, it was a lovely weekend and we had a great time.
