Restful

This property was ideal for a quiet relaxing stay. The view across to the sea was always a tonic and the jacuzzi an additional delight at the end of a day’s sightseeing. This was our fourth visit to Malta, and although the island is getting busier, this area is a relatively undiscovered joy well served by a half-hourly bus service or within 45 minutes walking of the Three Cities. Gaynor was an excellent and friendly host, daily WhatsApp messages keeping in touch with us. The bed was comfy and the flat clean. Hot water always available. The door to the main sliding window remains stiff and the TV is very limited in what’s available (but is that why you’ve gone to Malta?!). Thoroughly recommended.

Magnificent view

The flat is exactly as shown in the pictures, on the 2nd floor of a building without a lift. There is free outdoor parking and the host, Gaynor, was very helpful and caring, she satisfied all our requests. The flat is nice & clean but there are a few, perhaps less substantial issues. The sliding door to the balcony was really very heavy and we could hardly open it. The flat was missing the essentials for the kitchen & the bathroom, (no bath soap or shampoo -just hand soap, no selves in the shower or hangers), not even one bottle of water in the fridge (we arrived Friday night & everything was closed), just one old kitchen towel (with a hole) left, no sugar at all, although we were offered capsules for 4 coffees. Gaynor provided us with all above after our request. Although it's a self-catering apartment & not a hotel room, the traveler of a weekend, traveling with hand luggage only, would expect to find at least the essentials. About the hot tub: It was perfect! We found it full of warm water and we used it the very first night, after a tiring flight. BUT after the first use, it became dirty & we couldn't change the water. Gaynor came the next day in order to fill it with more chemicals, as the water changes once, before a guest's arrival only & the flat had a strong smell of chlorine, which was very unhealthy. So it turned out that the tub was not a good choice. Last but not least, the flat is very far from Valletta, Mdina, etc. You have to take a taxi to make the round of the gulf, about 1/2 hour ride, which costs about 22-26 euros one-way (each destination). After all, I suppose that the flat would be a perfect choice for summer vacations, as a (rocky) beach is just across the street.

Great quiet location

We stayed here for a week with our two young girls. Great spot to avoid the city noise. The ocean is right across the street and is amazing to have a morning coffee to. The hot tub was a great treat after a day of hiking. There is a small market right up the road and a pharmacy. A larger store is 5 min drive if you want more selection of food. A short walk away in smart city is a few restaurants and they have a light show in the fountain at night which my kids loved. The only suggestion I would say is if your comfortable driving on the opposite side of the road rent a car. We weren’t ready to try that out so we used bolt. We took bolt to Dingli cliffs, Mdina, Valletta and Victoria lines. If your on a budget bolt isn’t the best way but it worked for us and the drivers are all amazing. The host was great and kept in contact and brought fresh towels half way through the week. Highly recommend this place if you like to walk along the shore and enjoy quiet. Also if you like doors there are beautiful ones here. 6 stars!!!!!
